Shahenshah is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in Hertford. The food is consistent and well-cooked, with reasonable prices on most dishes. I also believe the staff to be friendly and helpful. My only issues with the place is the clientele, which on a weekend or a Friday night can include big parties of 'lads' out to get drunk. This really can't be helped, but it'd be nice if the staff tried to keep them from encroaching on other paying customers' meals. Personally I've only witnessed loud banter, but I've been told some real horror stories from other paying guests about guests who are too drunk and the inevitable effects of this.

Empire, in my opinion, is the most consistent and good quality Chinese take away food in Hertford. The dishes taste fresh, well made and cost a lot less than some of the other local establishments. The only minor annoyance is that they don't deliver, as this would really make ordering food from them a whole lot easier, but I understand that they have a good business model that is working for them.

Visited The Raj on a Friday night with family, ordered a variety of mains and sides to share. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was warm and inviting. All the food was delicious and warm plates were given to keep food hot. After the meal we were given warm cloths, chocolate mints, orange segments to act as a palate cleanser and a small glass of Tia Maria.Cannot recommend highly enough and will be visiting again very soon!

Thai. Asian Fusion Restaurant and Takeaway Our lunch deal starts from £5.50 so you can enjoy more often.
With my son visiting from Leeds, it was quite special. Had walked past Elles a few times before and thought it looked inviting. We finally went in and were not disappointed. The decor made us feel like we were on hoilday! The service, although a little slow - which was not a problem - was friendly. All the staff were just lovely. The food was good - very tasty and plenty of it. In fact, my husband really loved the sauce that his dish was cooked in and he was brought another dish of it! My Pad Thai was nice and my son made quick work of his green curry.Had a lovely chat with the owner about Thailand and food. We will definitely be back!

We arrived at ~7:30 pm and th eokace was empty. After having the food we can't understand why. Everything without fail was delicious. Prices were also very reasonable and staff were attentive. We started eating immediately because we were very hungry so my photos are a bit half eaten. We will return.

On 27.05.19, I took my children to my local restaurant for dinner. I was impressed by the food and it was much better than before under the new management. Mouthwatering sag chicken and savouring flavours. I really recommend Ginger, thanks to the chef for the wonderful food. Amazing service!

Went for a birthday celebration which got off to a bad start as our table was delayed by half an hour. It was very busy which is fine but as a result we were not asked for coffee, menu for desserts, asked if we wanted more drinks, if everything was ok..... ie the staff were too busy to be attentive. Had they come over to ask - I could have shown them the sugar cube which I found in my rice - 2cm x 1cm. This was not surprising as the coconut rice was so sweet it could have been a dessert dish. Although the decor was nice and it was reasonably priced, the food and lack of service put me off. Perhaps if they hadn't been so busy it would have been better...Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated. We hope to see you on a quieter night and we will assure you of the most attentive service.RegardsRuby

The lovely Glass House that turn to be the Japanese Restaurant, open skylight, relaxing and charming building,we served fully Japanese food and we have a Sushi bar inside for those who come alone as well. Why don't come and try .
Bunch of us staying nearby and were looking for a Japanese meal so oishii was discovered thanks to google !!!! !!! Pleasant little restaurant super friendly service most of the food was good except the steak which was over cooked and a bit tough. Also for the prices charged food quality and quantity could be improved. But all in all a pleasant experience!!

An absolutely delicious dinner! Venison, Lamb and Duck cooked to perfection and beautifully done. This is now a firm favourite We found this by accident on a Monday evening. Very quiet but apparently itâs packed at weekends. There was a steady but discreet stream of takeaway customers Highly recommended !

Bit did not blow my socks offBut itâs very very busy so not somewhere where you get a great meal but you do get a reasonably priced good mealOrdered 3 diff dishes which were all lovely but sadly all exactly the sameNo complaints but waitress should have said they were similar Bill was 65 per couple and I left stuffed and a few beers in as well so great value for moneySo for a good Thai meal this is perfect but if you love Thai food and want something special then Hertfordshire does not seem to have one and I have searched hardSuggestions welcomed But had a good night so no real complaints
