Rice noodles at Chongshan can date back to the 60's, people claim. It has many branches throughout Guilin and also serve lunch and dinner dishes besides rice noodles. I love their steamed tofu with salted egg! Rice noodle is RMB4 for small bowl (er liang), general lunch/dinner dish ranges from RMB10 - 20.

Opposite the Waterfall hotel beside the lake. Formerly named Congee City. More rustic than slick but the food's ok and the nplace is open 'til late, which is unusual especially in this part of Guilin. It'sa useful address, I think. DW
Came here with my wife as we had been recommended this restaurant by a local and it didnât disappoint! We ordered the roast duck, fried dumplings and the egg fried rice with beef bowl (which was HUGE)! And it all tasted absolutely amazing! We were highly impressed by the portions size of the rice and the taste and the duck was delicious! The staff are very friendly too despite the language barrier. The food dishes did all arrive at different times but in a way it suited us well like that! Highly recommend!!

Just thinking about this place makes me hungry - I can confidentially say this restaurant is my favourite in my holiday to China. The food was exquisite, with flavourful chilli pork, delicious local Guilin noodles and excellent soup options. The dessert - which for me, was a mango sago soup - exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were able to communicate effectively with them. Moreover, they immediately attended to any issues we had regardless of whether we asked. The price was also extremely reasonable given the location, quality and environment. Truly an excellent experience, and I would recommend this place to anyone in the Guilin area.

The first day we arrived in the evening, so we ordered from the menu. There was a soup dish with lots of vegetables that I tried and loved it. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and enjoyed every morning at the breakfast buffet. There were numerous choices (western and Chinese and other Asian foods), including cereals, omelets, pancakes, noodles, dim sum (including vegetarian), etc. The staff was very friendly and happy to tell me what was in the dim sum and various other dishes.

Located in the Neng Ren Temple. Great selection and wide variety of vegetarian dishes served in big portions.
This is probably the best value restaurant I have ever visited. The food is excellent, healthy, not too salty or oily. All vegan dishes, around 50 different ones. At only 38 yuan it is a steal. Also very clean and in a really nice environment, next to a buddhist temple. A must visit if in Guilin. Note that buffet dinner starts at 6pm and finishes at 8pm.

The restaurant is located near the Gulin Bravo Hotel in the city center, is clean, the menu is in both Chinese and English and, in addition to a large variety of Chinese dishes, you can also have tasty pancakes, fried rice, pizza, ice cream and even some reasonable coffee (!). The waiting staff is more helpful than in other local restaurants and the prices are reasonable. It was our favorite restaurant in Gulin - give it a try!

For any visitors to Guilin, a meal at Chun Ji is a must... sumptuous and affordable while brisk service and wide range of menu will make this a multiple visits eatery. The roasted Goose is the restaurant signature dish.. a must-order. While the soups are pretty good. The river fish cooked with beer is pretty good too.Amazing service starts from the beginning when the service staff places a sand-timer on the table once order is placed. They guarantee you will be served before the sand-timer runs out otherwise the meal is complimentary. But looking at the numerous chefs speed in the see-through kitchen wall, you won't have a chance of a free meal. Lunch hour provides for free-flow cut fruits in season which diners can help themselves . Awesome service indeed. All diners are billed Rmb-3 each for a packet of tissue and a pot of tea (refillable) as service charge. 2 thumbs up...a great place... go early to avoid the regular long queue.

Perhaps after reading reviews expectations were to high. Menu is in pictures and English translation. Place is upstairs and quite small. Food was presented on a tray with soup and fried lettuce included. Pork noodles were okay but bland similarly the beef and veg rice.

One of their specialties is the hot (with Szechuan pepper) and sour lamb soup served with hot rolls and it is absolutely delicious. Beware of it's size, easily serves four. We tried the Australian beef and should have selected the steak. The beef comes in many small very fatty pieces (my husband thought it was pork). Lots of Western style deserts. Yoghurt is really good.

There are times when nothing but a curry will do and this excellent restaurant really delivers. Located near the pedestrian zone and just round the corner from the Sheraton come and enjoy. We ordered the onion pakoras ( excellent) and followed this with chicken tikka masala and dhal makni with a naan. The dishes were spicy but we had been asked if that was OK and they were succulent and were cleared our plates. The naan was excellent and we had a great bottle of white wine for 180 RMB - the total costs of the food was about 400 RM and excellent value. Service was very friendly and the food perfect - go and enjoy.
