First visit to Lime. Decided to bring a couple of cans of pilsner with me as I was unsure on if they were licenced or not. Went as a group of four and was seated by a kind waiter. I asked him if I could have my own drinks to which he replied "yes only your own alcohol". Perfect. I asked for a glass which arrived swiftly and proceeded to pour my first drink. Before I knew it, a different, aged man in a shirt took the can out of my hands and loudly stated "NO cans. ONLY bottles. YOU can't have that in here." This was embarrassing and I felt like a naughty child back at school. I explained how the other waiter hadn't specified that I wasn't allowed cans only to be pointed to some tiny writing above the till which you wouldn't see on your way in unless you stood nose-to-nose at the front desk. To make matters worse, I was presented a tiny bottle of warm Stella and told to drink that instead. Apparently cans look "tacky" which is fair enough, and I wouldn't have minded if I wasn't 'told off' like a naughty boy. Anyway, after the man had finished his harassment I proceeded to pop next door and grab a couple of bottles of lager to have with my meal as I don't drink Stella and certainly don't appreciate being made to feel like I was a criminal. If I do ever return, I'll be sure to bring my bottles and magnifying glass. Although I probably won't, because the food is nothing special.Hi Alex FThanks for your review and as always we welcome feedback.I'd like to address your query and provide the full context to your visit for the readers. Firstly it is not common practice for people who are unsure if a restaurant is licenced or not to just come with their own drinks on the off chance a restaurant is licenced or not - most people either call up or check our website to find out and in both cases they would have been advised of the policy very clearly. In addition, as you walk into the restaurant our policy is also clearly displayed directly infront that explains this very clearly in font size 48 and is impossible to miss as you enter - I would be slightly concerned for you if did require magnifying glasses to read such large text!? on a serious note if you felt we could have done more to make it clearer I would be grateful for your feedback ([email protected]).At your table you were very politely advised of the drinks policy that no cans are allowed in to the restaurant. After this explanation you continued to challenge our policy and were very persistent to seek permission to do so. The matter could have been very easily closed in 10 seconds had you accepted and respected our drinks policy and the explanation we provided. Unfortunately with you not wanting to accept this we had to repeat this several times until you finally realised we would not make any exceptions on our policy - this was not nice for our staff to deal with, for you or your fellow guests. We calmly explained that we have a very generous policy of allowing you to bring your own alcoholic drinks (bottles only - no cans) and we do not charge corkage and please respect our generous policy. We do not apologise for our policy as we feel it is very generous and we kindly request all customers that visit to respect this which they do.One of the disappointing discrepancies from your review was how much you enjoyed our food - it is always great to see empty plates and to receive the great feedback as we did from you and your overall judgement to be clouded by not being able to use your cans. We would welcome you back as we do care about all our customers and hope that your next visit will be a more positive one and not surrounded by any confusion.

Arunothai is in an unlikely position slightly away from the centre of Hucknall, however you shouldn't be put off by this. There is a comprehensive menu with some well-chosen set menus. Decent sized portions (enough without being too much) complimented by a variety of beers, wines and spirits.Staff are very attentive without fawning and food is served quickly without feeling rushed.Takeaway available and plenty of special offers if you follow them on FacebookHi Phil,Weâre really pleased to hear you enjoyed your visiting & we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future Warm wishes

Modern-Simple Dining Indian Restaurant in Ilkeston. We serve healthy and flavorsome dishes, dedicated to our customers. There is also a bar within the restaurant, with a variety of drinks. From wines and champagnes, to cocktails, and to hot drinks. The sc
We ordered an onion bhaji starter as a takeaway, when we opened the bag I was shocked to find only 2 bhajis per portion and each bhaji was tiny, there was no side salad included like other restaurants/takeaways, instead just the usual 3 pots which included mango, mint and then chopped onion. I really wish I wouldnât have wasted my time, fuel and money getting a takeaway from here, we were left feeling ripped off and as youâll see from my picture the bhajis donât look anything like the ones they use to promote the restaurant, Iâve had better from Morrisonâs. Dear kurti5,I realised who you are as I personally served you yesterday, in the restaurant. As you have clearly mentioned in your own review that you ordered just a âstarterâ. You asked whether the onion bhajis come with a side salad, and I explicitly made it clear to you that it does not. For a takeaway, you only get 2 onion bhajis. For dining-in, we provide garnish sauces, and a garnish salad accompaniment to the onion bhaji. Therefore, I offered you the chutney tray (the 3 pots) in which you happily agreed to. You said the onion bhajis were small, but they are the standard âstarterâ portion and for all our dishes- we value QUALITY over QUANTITY. So, we are very sorry that just a âstarterâ portion of onion bhajis were not able to satisfy your hunger. Yes, there was no side salad like other restaurants/ takeaways because we choose to operate in our own unique way. We do side salads, which you were made aware of, but you decided not to order. We are extremely sorry that you felt ordering two portions of onion bhajis were a waste of your time. Our customers do not feel that these onion bhajis are a waste of money, in fact, it is one of our best-selling vegetarian starters. Regarding wasting your fuel, we would not have done the same if we did deliveries for only two onion bhajis. We do believe that the presentation of your plate does not look like the ones that we use to serve our guests in the restaurant. If you could check out our site, or our Facebook or Instagram pages, you can see how we present our onion bhajis or any other dishes. If you feel like you need to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact us on 0115 9302777 or at [email protected], we would be extremely happy to book you in and serve you at our restaurant with a Jhakhas (Awesome) experience of dining.Best regards,Jhakhas Indian Kitchen & Bar

We have been to this restaurant a few times before and the food has always been tasty, but this time was probably the best. My wife had the Chilli Fish to start and I had the Lamb Chops. I would definitely reccomend these. The mains were just as delicious and the service was prompt. The restaurant itself is big and spacious, but it was packed last night and quite rightly so! We will definitely be back!

Approached with trepidation as outside looks a little meh and not at all like an asian restaurant, no signage over front door. On entering again was nervous as entrance disjointed from rest of restaurant with office celing tiles. However the food was amazing and well worth the wait. Service maybe a little slow but would come back for sure. Turns out the reason for decor is that its cafe by day and asian by night. What a find !

We wanted a vegan friendly restaurant whilst staying in the area and this restaurant did not disappoint. We had a veggie banquet menu for 3 people and the fresh quality and presentation of the dishes were excellent. Everything was tasty and simply gorgeous. The staff were attentive and really lovely. The ambience was perfect. A lovely meal.
