Authentic Indian restaurant in West Didsbury. Indique word is coined by merging 'Indian' and'Unique' and so is our food. True to our name our food is a modern twist to traditional currys. Every dish is made with fresh ingredients and lots of care and love
It was good to see Indique mentioned in the just published new edition of the Good Food Guide, counting it amongst the best 1000 or so restaurants in the country. As the Guideâs review has it, this is one of the new wave of âposh Indianâ restaurants, offering much more traditional dishes than the âany protein with any sauceâ dishes that you can find in countless identikit high street curry houses. Weâre fortunate to have it in Greater Manchester, along with likes of Bombay to Mumbai in Bramhall, Lilyâs in Ashton and Sanskruti in Withington. The chef puts some effort into elegant plating of starters. Expect the dabs and smears of any âfine diningâ restaurant. But this is not at the expense of flavour. Achari paneer tikka saw big chunks of the cheese, which had been marinated in tikka spices and a little pickle juice to give sharpness, quickly cooked so there was a bit of texture on the exterior but soft inside. The dabs and smears were, I think, a coriander chutney and a sharper tamarind one. Alongside, thereâs thinly sliced cucumber for crunch and each piece of cheese was topped with a slice of red pepper. All in all, a good balance of textures and flavours. The other starter was a more interesting take on the familiar onion bhaji. Here the onions are mixed with lentils and spinach. Thereâs more of that sharp tamarind chutney.Aloo gobi is always good here and always seems slightly different from the previous version. On this visit, the cauliflower was quite soft with waxy potatoes giving a little bite. Flavours are consistently good and, in particular, thereâs a good whack from chilli. That was eaten with a naan. The other main course needed no additional carb. Lamb biryani was cooked in the Hyderabadi style. And, no, I donât pretend to know the differences between that and the various other styles of cooking the dish. I do know this was delicious. A good balance in quantities of the rice and the meat. The rice itself had a good flavour and the lamb had been long cooked so it could, literally, be cut with a fork. In the high street curry house, flavours can be a bit underwhelming but not here. You also get a little dish of raita which is handy for balancing the heat from chilli. Weâve had desserts in the past (and they are another example of elegant plating), but we were too full this time, so just got the bill.

Very busy restaurant, with many dishes to chose from, ordered beef pho, papaya salad and a pork dish which were all very nice, presented well and generous in size and taste. Garnishes for pho come separately which is nice for the heat control. The staff were efficient and friendly, they also gave a pho doggie bag to take away. I'll definitely have to try their other dishes such as fried octopus another time. It's a very popular and busy place, even on a Sunday, so booking is recommended.

Had a teatime meal and everything was cooked beautifully and very large portions. One of our fussy guests wanted chicken tikka with a lamb mince sauce on top not on the menu and the chef made it specially and it was wonderful. Great when a restaurant goes that extra mile. Not a local but will be back. Thank you.

Well what a day and night we had yesterday! I am part of a local charity Stockport Tadpoles and yesterday we held a huge night to raise money and to celebrate 25 years of the group running! The food was outstanding! There were quite a lot of dietary requirements as there was close to 90 of us eating and nothing was too much trouble at all. They catered for every individual with great ease! The staff were all amazing, Linda, steve, luina, Shireen, may, kate, Laurence, kim and obviously the fantastic chefs backstage who don't always get a mention! Thanks so much to everyone at rainbow for everything you did for us. I just don't know how to express how amazing the whole night was from start to finish! Finally a huge thanks to Dave the resident magician who entertained everyone too. We could not have asked for a better venue, food or staff! You would be crazy not to visit and give it a try! xxxxWe were so happy to be part of your 25th anniversary party and to also raise funds for such a worthy cause. It was a pleasure working with you and thank you for giving us the opportunity. Very impressed you remember all the names of who helped to make the night.

Reserved a table and went to this place. Good authentic indian food. Beverage choices are ok. Service levels are decent. They closed the service at 10 and did not alert us about the last order and as a result had to settle without dessert. Portions are small. Average place overall. Dear GuestMany thanks for taking time out to review us. We are sorry that time was close and you could not get to order dessert. I really hope, next time it should be ok and it is well worth as we make all the desserts in house.Looking forward to seeing you soon.best wishessuresh

Took my boss from the US here for dinner during his recent visit to the UK. We were both blown away by the unusual spin on Indian food. This is by far the best Indian food that Iâve ever eaten. Excellent quality and very tasty dishes and some that Iâve never seen before. If Iâm in Cheadle in the future, this will be my go to place for dinner. The people who own and run this restaurant provide first class friendly service and nothing is too much trouble. Brilliant.
