Tried the restaurant because of craving for Filipino food. The place was easy to find, service was ok one of the servers was attentive enough, food was ok. I ordered tapsilog, the hubby ordered pork barbeque. He had to get two order of the barbeque because one serving was too small for him ( one order had 3 skewers but they were small). The tapsilog was $7.99 one order of the barbeque was $4.99 soda was $1.50 and halu halo so in total I paid $29. Looking at the other table , they ordered the lunch special of pancit, friend chicken and lumpia which had generous portions. I think that would have been a better deal at $7.99. Overall, it is just ok.

We ordered several dishes to go on February 20, 2017 and we were impressed with the quality of the food, textures, flavors, and lack of oiliness! Everything we ordered denied the greasy Chinese food stereotype, and that really added to the delight. Due to the prices, we thought the portions would be on the small side, but they were quite generous, another pleasant surprise. We ordered the Singapore noodles, delicate curry taste, lots of bbq pork, and shrimp, with a hint of a chili bite. Wor wonton, 10 wonton dumplings, scallops, bbq pork, shrimp, slices of chicken, duck porridge had 10, count 'em 10 pieces of duck, which included a whole drumstick, the pork porridge with preserved egg was outstanding, bok choy with black mushrooms were tender crisp, delicate flavor, and lots of black mushrooms, bean curd with pork in chili sauce, also delicious and not oily. The final dish was the steamed bacon with pickled greens. Large chunks of pork were delicious, but somehow, we did not get the pickled greens, it came with spinach. That was a disappointment as we love the pickled greens, but the pork was delicious and there was a large amount of it. Over all a very satisfying take out experience, which is not always the case at other restaurants were the food is great at the restaurant and nothing like it on take out. We'd recommend this place anytime you want some very tasty Cantonese food at a terrific value.

We moved to the Castro Valley area three months ago. This restaurant was recommended by a Coit carpet cleaner who cleaned our carpet before we moved in. When we moved, we were still in boxes, we wanted to take a chance and try Pad Thai. We have been a return customer several times in the last three months. They ARE the best! Very courteous staff, clean environment. Love their exotic flowers in their garden, you can still sit inside and enjoy the beautiful garden.

Wanted to like this place. Cute with table clothes....but lacking in customer service and quantity of food for the price is way off.Waitress: I arrive before my friend tell her I will order an appetizer (chicken satay) and my drink and she can take my friends drink order and the rest of the order when he arrives. She disappears. 2 minutes later friend arrives....no waitress. Finally she appears plunks down the chicken satay---AND leaves Ignoring our excuse mes and wait a second we would like to order words aimed at her back.Satay. 5 skewers of differing thicknesses and lengths. The TINIEST amount of peanut sauce and cucumber salad I have ever seen.We wait, and wait. Finally long after the appetizer is gone we flag her down and order. She can not explain the heat rating. Ended up with one really yummy catfish dish that was NOT hot and was supposed to be and one ehh I could leave it prawn and eggplant dish (again, asked for med hot and NO heat).overall. not worth returning to until they care. Spent $60 for 2 people and did not wish to take leftovers home.

After a trip to San Francisco Airport, we stopped in for a bit of dinner. Nice and clean, staff friendly. Not too busy, but I decide let's go for it! We ordered Chicken Pho and Shrimp with noodles. They brought out the accompaniments that looked very fresh especially the bean sprouts! Well, when my friends Pho arrived, I tasted it and I thought bland. When my Shrimp and Noodles arrived, I tasted it, very bland. As a matter of fact, I think they use the same liquid for there meals, just different meats! This was very different for me as we eat Pho and I tend to really enjoy the liquid. I am willing to try another for other items on the menu, but so far, I am unimpressed! I invite you to try it for yourself and say what you think!

On my birthday, my husband took me here for the prix fix omakase dinner. It was unforgettable! The entire meal was an experience. We tried some things that were more familiar, and had other dishes unique to their restaurant. The ingredients are incredible fresh and very thoughtful. We have returned several since then, and ordered from the regular menu. It's a bit pricy but you get what you pay for.

We really enjoyed our experience at Silver Spoon; from the waitstaff to the excellent menu options- just fantastic!Simon was our waiter and was over the top friendly and the other staff were super friendly too. We had no problem getting anyone's attention and they were very nice and accommodating. The food was very good; we got the BoBo platter, Won ton soup, Lettuce wrap and the Sweet and Sour Prawns. Everything thing was so good and the BoBo platter was such an experience! Looking forward to making this my "GOTO" restaurant!

I was visiting a friend and decided to pick up dinner in Castro valley before heading back to my hotel in Oakland. I called this restaurant 10 minutes before closing. The owner happily took my order without any hesitation. I ordered the vegetarian fried rice and deep fried tofu. The tofu was cut rather large for my liking. Overall, the food was good and fresh.

We were a large group that had a buffet dinner in one of the private rooms. It is an interesting place with exotic interior and with a beautiful front door. The various dishes were very tasty. But I was most impressed with the servers. They were refilling our water glasses constantly, the servers were efficient and our drink ordered were quickly brought to the table. They were helpful and friendly. They worked very hard to please everybody. Good job! I plan to return and try some of the dishes on the menu.
