Kathmandu is relatively new to Hobart, offering a delicious range of Nepalese food, taking inspiration from our neighbours India, Tibet and China. Picture a quiet evening out with your loved one, tucked away in an intimate dining space, soft warm lighting
We really enjoyed a range of dishes. If you eat Indian food you will recognise most of the dishes. Spice factor was not too high and the food was tasty. Staff were attentive and the place was full...so can't be all bad. Happy to go back.

Maybe because itâs head and shoulders above so many eateries that call themselves ârestaurantsâ.Constantly disappointed in the Hobart food scene but never here. As other commentators have said: 5/5 for service, food and ambience.I could add location, with the ability to park in Magnet Court and walk under cover from your car.

A 20 years old traditional Indian restaurant located in Hobart City.
Arrived as a walk in on a Thursday night. Was pretty quiet as we were early. Ordered main Beef Masala with complimentary rice , Garlic nann and an entre of chicken tikka and shared. We ended up taking some home. Generous portions, very nice food and good service. Wine list was small but good choices available. Food and a couple of wines were $60 so pretty cheap. Premises are a wee bit daggy but great value for money overall.

The Saffron is located at the gateway to Hobart â in the historic and picturesque wharf area, across from the Grand Chancellor Hotel. We take great pride in their elegant dining establishment and strive to provide a distinguished dining experience to patr
Overall a great experience the food is northern Indian style so thick or dry curry is the deal which is good for me personally. We enjoyed our meals which were served promptly. Wines were nice and reasonably priced. Service was a tad stern not very welcoming being honest. I would go again if in town.

Bring the Japanese Gastro-pub to Hobart A welcoming, casual bar where you can share and enjoy great Japanese dishes along with a fully stocked bar specialising in Japanese sake, beers and cocktails. A truly Social dining experience.
Top venue that is always consistent and delivers on all fronts. Currently undergoing a substantial extension given its popularity, i suggest it will only get better. A wonderful and left field drink selection and fantastic array of food. The half price oysters between 3pm and 6pm are hugely popular and the potato salad is amongst the best going around.Awesome venue.
From Dim Sum to Mapo Tofu, the popularity of Chinese food in Hobart far surpassed localâs expectations. But what about Xiao Long Bao or the soup dumpling? The dish that is synonymous with the city of Shanghai, where a perfect intertwining of traditional a
Had the sliced fish with Sichuan pickled noodle soup. It was okay at the beginning but eventually found it was quite salty. Fish slices were fresh. Customer service was not great. I had to get my own chopsticks and spoon and napkin. Food was slow.

Great location in an old sandstone warehouse in the Salamanca precinct, nice ambience and antiseptically clean in the Japanese tradition.Food was very fresh and tasty, nicely prepared and efficiently delivered by the railway system. My wife, a vegetarian, was disappointed as there were no hot vegetarian options, and Hobart in winter can be rather cold. A strange oversight.

Great little restaurant in suburban Howrah. Great entrees, in the classic safe reliable Thai style (fish cakes, satay sticks, spring rolls and the golden chicken wings). The mains are very tasty, the green curry and penang curry are both brilliant. Good value and is BYO. The service is efficient.

Kin is Japanese inspired BBQ mixed with passion for local, seasonal produce and sake. A majority of the menu is cooked on a hibachi grill and can be enjoyed with an artisan sake, Japanese inspired cocktails or beer and wine.

Not only did they make me feel like I was a queen (was dining solo) but their food and service is 100% on point...If you want excellent Japanese food, with a smile and to be made feel like you are the only one in the room - then come here. I tried the:Edamame with Nori Salt - YUMMO!Tasmanian Scallops - Yolk - a little weird to get your head around - but OMG delightful!Tasmanian Octopus - YUMMO!Panko Crumbed Tofu - wow - my absolute favourite - mouth watering....Seaweed salad - yummyDessert - not big on Rhubarb, but lemon slice was niceThis is now my favourite place to eat - must book though, they have limited spots, but if you're flying solo - there's a special spot waiting for you... Just ask Lil, she'll make you feel like there's no one else in the room.Thank you guys - your food and hospitality is absolutely worth my extra $20 tip!! I went home full, and totally happy with the choice I made :-)

Our chef's picked the most authentic spices and masalas from the land of India which makes us different from others you can try yourself and feel the difference , we ensure you were loving it.
We were looking for somewhere to eat nearby and stumbled across this place, one of the only restaurants open on Easter Monday. We were so hungry and happy to eat anything but the food here far exceed our expectations. Truly delicious and authentic Indian food, fresh, delicious and spicy! Highly recommend visiting this one, even if you aren't around the corner! We recommend the Kashmiri Lamb Rogan Josh but everything we ate was so delicious. We'll definitely be back before we leave Hobart.
