I've been eating at and from India Cottage for years now but sadly last night will be the last takeaway we have from here. I really can't understand why they allow a lack of consistency between the restaurant offering and the takeaway service. Last night it was lamb rogan josh and a chicken tikka jalfrezi, both with extra spinach. My wifes RJ was bland and tasteless and had about a glass of wine of oil swilling around the top by the time we got home. It looked dreadful and she only ate half of it. My CTJ was only marginally better and if it wasn't for the 4 fresh green chillis would have been devoid of any kind of heat from the sauce itself. I'm certain they wouldn't serve this in the restaurant, maybe it's because they don't get much takeaway feedback? Who knows? We ordered by phone at twenty to eight and collected at around 10 past and by the time we got home (mile and a half) the food was well beyond being hot, not sure how it's stored in the kitchen whilst it awaits collection but if it's an electric warming cupboard maybe they should check the fuse.It wasn't overly cheap either, coming in at around £19 with a naan and a peshwari naan, no complimentary poppadoms or chutney and certainly no frills in the packaging department - each naan was in a plastic bag so it could sweat. One would hope the bag was food grade but I normally associate these flimsy stripey bags with petrol stations. My advice to India Cottage is to mystery shop yourselves, I'm sure you'll be just as disappointed as us in the quality of your food offering. Sad really.

Itâs been a while since weâve been here, after hearing it was no longer a buffet....but recently told it was a buffet again we decided to go back. Can honestly say itâs better than it was before. It was considerably quiet, in fact we were the only ones in. The food is good for a buffet, lovely choice of different dishes. Plus you get service with a smile. We will definitely come back. Thanks!

I'm amazed by all the good reviews this place gets and can only put it down to it being somewhat unique.Never have i known such ridiculously small portion sizes. The concept is simple you order several starters and mains to get a wider range of foods and tastes as you would normally get. However, nothing quite works... the waiter does even inform you of which dish is which.Left still feeling hungary which ultimately made it feel like an expensive mealDear thepoortable, Thank you for taking your time to write this review, I am sorry You feel that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. As you mentioned in your review, the Thalii is a tapas style platter which is made up of smaller portion sizes of starters and mains allowing for our diners to try out a larger variety of dishes. We recommend that the small and medium options are both individual Thaliiâs and a large could be shared by 2 people. Additions can be made to your platter at anytime if more dishes are required. We hope that you will give us another chance now that the concept is abit more clear, please call us and ask for a member of management, we would be more than happy to see you again. Many ThanksThe Thalii Team

First time trying here for my Son's 14th Birthday with my Partner. We went on recommendation that it is the Top Trip Advisor restaurant in Stoke. Absolutely correct From our arrival with the Staff opening the door to our departure with the same, we can not commend their attentive service enough. Lovely staff. The food is excellent. So many starters, main courses and selection of puddings. Free soft drinks in pint glasses. Take your own alcoholic drinks. Food very tasty from starters to mains to puddings. We ate at the Kashmir Gardens quite late on a Friday evening on the way back to Stockport after a concert at the Victoria Hall (thank you TA reviewers for making us aware of this place). The welcome was exceptionally warm and the friendliness continued throughout our meal â nothing was too much bother. As we ate our quite excellent â and vast â curries, we reflected on how most restaurants are simply there to serve food and make a profit, but that a few are genuinely embedded in their communities. The Kashmir Gardens is one of the latter. The prices are quite frankly ridiculous. We live not far from the Curry Mile in Manchester and despite the competition in that area prices are still significantly higher than at the Kashmir Gardens. As the owner explained to us, he wants to have a restaurant that locals can afford â and they were certainly present â and like us tucking in to really good food.We couldnât finish our portions, so they were boxed up for us and we enjoyed a second night of great curry a couple of days later at home. For the record we had Chicken Tikka Masala, a Dupiaza and a MussalamIn summary, the quality to price ratio here is stupendous. I hope the local community realise just how lucky they are to have this place on their doorstep and support it. Next time we are passing we will definitely call in again.

If you are after fast food, then you have come to the wrong place. Here at the Vale Curry House we compete on quality and promise to bring you true and honest food. Food which is cooked by chefs who have travelled from Karachi to Delhi to understand what
Friday night and really couldnât be bothered to cook so decided on a curry and itâs obviously going to be from Vale. Iâm MASSIVELY fussy with takeaways, if the place doesnât look right or even feel right I wonât go in. Weâve never had a bad meal or bad service here, food is always ready when theyâve said itâll be ready, never had to wait around. Always tasty and piping hot, just lovely. Definitely recommend!
