Amsterdam is ready to enjoy the Japanese quality food in a casual setting with a good glass of sake and shochu. We have a great selection of sashimi and sushi for you but there is so much more to the Japanese kitchen than sushi. Besides sushi we offer adv
I had the full tasting menu as a birthday treat to myself, it was wonderful from beginning to end. Involuntary appreciative noises when you are eating is always a good sign and I had so many of those. Every course was at least very good, if not excellent and as there were so many different parts often something that made me make an odd noise of appreciation Excellent service, not overly formal and friendly but also traditional and helped me to have some sake, which I really enjoyedI can’t think of a meal that I have enjoyed more, not cheap but to me great value and tbh if I lived in Amsterdam I would be visiting that full tasting menu every month. It really was that good. I will be back the next time I am in the city

A real Japanese restaurant, with cozy atmosphere(but the empty barrels of beer at the entrance are not so nice).Plenty of choice,as a real izakaya should be,excellent quality of the ingredients, very fast service. What surprised me the most are the prices, quite low compared to the standards of similar restaurants in the Netherlands.Everything we tried(sushi,gyōza,fried squid rings, soups, meat) was excellent.I highly recommend the cubes of veal meat in teriyaki sauce(I attach a picture):I rarely had such good meat.

This restaurant was just down the road from our hotel and what a surprise, great choice, food, service and value. My wife mentioned to a member of staff how much she liked the chilli sauce and the staff produced a container full for her to take home. What is also a really nice touch is present clients with a dessert of ice cream in advocaat, very tasty.

Large establishment, good looking interior, impressive aquarium. Medium sized parking. Toilet facilities are a little delapidated, deserve more attention. 6 page menu offering selection of maki, sashimi, yakitori, soup, noodles, beef and much more. All you can eat formula, the six of us spent 38 EUR a piece including several drinks per head. Good value. Recommended.

Welcome to Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka, sizzling with life. Amidst a vibrant and sociable atmosphere, guests gather around expert Japanese teppanyaki chefs as they prepare sumptuous dishes with flair and precision on hot iron griddles, right before dine
If the words; excellence, service, exclusive, warm, amazing - work in one sentence than it’ll be a good fit to describe the experience at the Sazanka First, the ambience of the restaurant is spectacular, the service is warm, kind and responsive - even when I told them that I’m a carnivore in a Japanese restaurant it didn’t phase them. We had the cook work at our table, watching him turn everyday ingredients into amazing food just in front of you is an awesome experience, especially as not one detail got missed and the presentation of the plate was trying to break records with every dish that was served. The pictures I’ve attached do demonstrate the dishes but looking at the pictures after the meal it seems like they didn’t really capture the dishes properly, so look at the pictures and expect more & better If you’re a foodie than you have to go to the Sazanka, it’s worth the money

All you can eat sushi/sashimi/teryaki etc restaurant
This is an all you can eat sushi and grill place and it was full of people. For 28 euros you can keep going, and at first I wondered why the order slips only had room for five rounds. I was soon enlightened, however. Our group of six went through 74 plates of stuff, including nigiri, soup, grilled beef, tempura, and other items. The teriyaki beef and tempura were both very good, as was the salmon nigiri. Our group was full after only three rounds (some items have more than one piece on the plate), although I managed two more little items, and it was a lot of wonderful cooking. There is grolsch beer on tap and this helps wash down the onslaught of sushi. Phew! We lurched back to the hotel, happy but moving slowly... We certainly recommend this establishment. Although there were many customers, the plates seemed to come out swiftly. Bon appetit!

We came with high expectations, as Ron Blaauw is a renowned chef. Well, and actually that's the problem with TV chefs opening up restaurants in multiple numbers, they seem to lose control and lose the eye for details. Actually, that seems to be exactly the case at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia.Besides the eye for details, the entire concept is confusing, being the reason why the waiters need to explain the menu concept to each and every guest (I noticed that was bing the case). The appetisers seem straight forward in terms of concept, so other than some flat tastes (for instance the Ayam Goreng, very flat taste which really needs to provided sauce to give it some spice). The Duck Spring Rolls were very nice by the way.The concept of the main courses is very confusing. You can either choose by ordering family style dishes that are inspired by the Indonesian cuisine to create some fusion type of dishes. Or you can order the traditional Rijsttafel where a range or pre-selected dishes is served for everyone to share. We opted for the individual dishes and added 1 traditional dish from the Rijsttafel, namely Rendang. The Rendang was really very disappointing, it appeared it had a very dominant taste of nutmeg, and in any case it was not the Rendang that it should be (in any case not tasting at all like the Rendang I know and tasted from the times I live in Indonesia for 6 years). The other dishes also seemed to lack taste or had a very dominant spiciness to it which was then the only thing one could taste. A great exception actually was the tuna tartar, which was really nice, however the connection to the Indonesian cuisine isn't really there. The Indonesia chef that acts on behalf of Ron Blaauw seems to be very stressed in the kitchen (it's an open kitchen) and also looks very grumpy. He was continuously arguing with the serving staff.........if he would focus more on getting his dishes right I am sure his energy would be used a lot better.Again, an example of a restaurant that relies too much on the name and fame of the TV chef, without really delivering what you would expect from such a renowned TV chef
