Star of Siam Thai restaurant, Adelaide, South Australia
First night in Adelaide in 10 years and we thought a visit to Gouger St would be a good start. We walked into the Star of Siam without a reservation at 8 pm and were seated immediately.Service appeared efficient and plusher initially. 2 entrees and 2 mains ordered, we waited patiently, taking in the surrounds. It looked like the kind of place frequented by regulars judging by the familiarity of an senior lady ( maybe owner ) with some of the guests.Only one entree arrived and we waited for another 15 minutes for everything else to arrive to which when they decided to move us to another table?? To sufficiently fit the dishes we ordered on.The staff have obviously been encouraged to perform âsilver serviceâ when serving dishes, but it unnecessary, in my opinion, when this style of meal, which is meant to be shared, doesnât really warrant it.Maybe this service would warrant the above average price tag for the food. The duck red curry lacked actual duck in it. But was very healthy and full of vegetables. They should call it red veg curry with a hint of duck. The BBQ squid was excellent. The entree of snow peas was also good and the Pad Ke Meow with pork was tasty.Good serviceFood was ok.Hefty priceOccasional dining
Residing along Currie Street in the heart of Adelaide City is locally loved Korean fusion restaurant BA:M Adelaide. Discover an interior fitted out with blonde time furnishings, bamboo ceiling features creative arches over head and pendent lantern lightin
Located on Currie St, a short walk from the main shopping precinct and sporting centre. This is a quaint restaurant with interesting decor. The service was first-class, the menu is not too large and some interesting options that mix classic Korean with some elegant fusion. I had the beef tartare and it was the best tartare I have ever eaten. There are options for vegos and gluten free. Just need to be able to stand A-pop playing on the screen constantly. Book ahead if you are in the usual weekend eating window.Special note: They serve 78 degrees gin - the best gin in the world.

We recently went to this fabulous Japanese Restaurant located in the Intercontinental Hotel in Adelaide..it is a bit pricey BUT the food is absolutely divine... the Japanese sushi and sashimi, tempura and teppanyaki are fantastic!! Melt in your mouth and this is the FIRST time I have ever eaten raw fish and meat!!Our fellow 'table people' were fun to chat with and made for a great night!Hi Trina, Thank you very much for the time you took to leave us a mouth-watering description accompanying your 5-star review! Dined here on a Saturday night at the early seating of 6.30pm. Excellent, friendly service. Indulged in the Tuk Tuk (chefs selection menu) and it was brilliant, really delicious as well as good value for the amount of food we were served, including dessert. Great atmosphere but very noisy so conversation was a little difficult. Good wine list as well. Great Thai food.

Freshly made right in front of you with the best side dishes. Their cucumber and radish pickled is to die for. Very refreshing and no taste/smell of vinegar. And its free!I often eat here with friends when i used to live in adelaide and during my last visit, its the first in my list of places to eat. They closed at 8.30pm so during winter time you can see a lot doing takeaways or late diners. Since i came in late they were happy to serve me for takeaway. Huge servings and you can request for combination of fried or steamed. A bit dearer by couple of dollars compared to Dumpling Kings (another great place to eat chinese dumplings). But hands down iâll eat here often since they serve with a smile and food serve with love. Itâs a Korean dumplings. Their dipping sauce got their great combination of sweet, spicy and salty.

I have broken my own rules by preparing reviews on my local area restaurants.Nobody wants to hear from someone who visits an eating place regularly and therefore is a bit biased, however in this case I think it is worth a change as Social Street is simply Bloody Good.Go there sample everything on the menu and walk away smiling.Beats some other "smart"{places hands down.Hello John!Thank you so much for visiting us regularly, and for trying almost everything on our menu <3Our hearts are as full as your tummy thanks to your kind words!Love,Social Street Team

Our grand daughter wanted to celebrate her 20th Birthday at the Vietnamese Mai Kitchen Restaurant so not having eaten Vietnamese food before,we went with some trepidation. We need not have worried as the food was excellent and great value. The service was good and the meals were served quickly.I had the garlic prawns, stir fried vegetables served and a steaming hot plate and my wife had Lemon Chicken whichj she thoroughly enjoyed.Do not be put off by the outside appearance of the restaurant as the inside is well presented and quite large. So from now on we will be eating more Vietnamese food and certainly be going back to Mai Kitchen Restaurant.

Nothing wrong with the service or the food that was available, it was all 'nice enough'. But I've eaten in quite a few Thai restaurants and there are many better menus than what was on offer here. Comparatively quite small and only a few that met dietary needs.Hi kevm987,Thank you for the review, we understand everyone has their own dietary requirement, thank you for giving us 4* for the service, and sure I will discuss with our chefs and hopefully we can have more great options to meet your dietary needs.Thank you for visiting S2 & have a good night!Love, Kyra

There's nothing really spectacular about this restaurant and it will disappoint true lovers of Thai. But for a quick lunch it is great value. The Green Curry Chicken was good although a bit dry, the Pad Thai was more flavoursome. The staff are friendly and attentive. I would normally rate this as a good restaurant but due to TripAdvisor's rating system, Cafe Michael is not quite very good. But is you are looking for value and a quick lunch this is a very good restaurant.
