The Box is temporarily closed but is planning to re-open on Tuesday 18 May. Tickets will be available to book from mid-April. The Box is Plymouth’s major new museum, art gallery and archive. A place where the city’s heritage meets contemporary art; where archives meet interaction; and where the Mayflower meets a mammoth. It's also home to The Box Kitchen & Bar, a shop, education and research spaces.
A lot of money has been well spent on this attraction. We found the whole experience exciting and informative and the use of interactive displays very rewarding. We finished with a meal in the restaurant whish was excellent.

Radiant is a gallery and events venue in the heart of Plymouth, by Effervescent. We are a laboratory for art + people, trying to make the world a happier place. The gallery is programmed by different groups of local young people, who have, through an intensive yet fun process, found what it is they want to express via the exhibitions. The exhibitions are selected by the group from a world-wide open call to artists, at any stage in their career. In this way, the young people are 9we hope) empowered, creating shows, rather than just being passive consumers.

KARST is the largest independent contemporary art venue in Plymouth, comprising a free public gallery space and artists’ studios. KARST was founded in 2012 in the industrial Millbay area of the city and aims to be a test-bed for experimentation: from conceptually complex group shows proposed by international curators to projects focussing on individual artists or artistic collaboration. As a charitable organisation, we focus on working in partnership with cultural organisations, artist groups and creative individuals through curated exhibitions, events and critical dialogue, in order to support the cultural growth of Plymouth and the South West.
