Set between Milan and Verona at the foot of the Alps, Brescia is the second-largest city in Italy’s northern Lombardy region, with just under 200,000 people. The city’s rich history dates back to pre-Roman times, when it was a Gallic capital. Among the many great local sights are the 11th-century Duomo Vecchio (Old Cathedral, also called La Rotonda), unique for its circular shape, the 17th-century Duomo Nuovo (New Cathedral) next door, and the first-century Roman ruins at Tempio Capitolino.

Galleria dell'Incisione opened in 1972, and specializes in middle-European graphics between the 19th and 20th century. We gave our preference to the German, Austrian and Czech area of the beginning of our century, with monographical exhibitions of artists as Otto Dix, George Grosz, Karl Hubbuch, Max Klinger, Richard Muller and Rudolf Schlichter. We also proposed contemporary artists (especially from Italy) and illustrators (Folon, Glaser, Davis), and occasionally organized Japanese art reviews (Hiroshige, Hokusai, Koson, Kunisada, Utamaro and Yoshitoshi). We recently organized exhibitions of international photographers such as Martine Franck, Berengo Gardin, Scianna, Sellerio, and Erwitt.
