Autentica Comida Argentina
Our hotel recommended Isabel and we really enjoyed it, so much so we went a second time. It's a friendly and casual place obviously very popular indeed as it was packed out both times. The service was friendly and efficient and the food and wine were very good. The portions were huge and they suggested we shared a main course which we did both times and it really was enough for two. It's excellent value

International food in romantic place. Amazing overlook the Argentino Lake Open only for dinner and closed on Wednesday. Closed from May 1th to August 30th
We were lucky as we were the only guests during our diner. The service was excellent and the owner was very friendly. We had a great lamb and steak with a marvelous wine. Also very good price if you look at the quality of food, wine and service. A beautiful view on Lago Argentina. We came back the next evening!

The restaurant will be closed during May, June and July, we will open in August. Thank you very much.
We seemed to have the opposite experience of other reviews at this restaurant. The food was pretty good (stay away from the house wine though!) but the service was not great. We had a late dinner and the staff was inattentive. Maybe they were tired. They did a cursory attempt with remembering our names but other than the "friendly" greeting, we were pretty much ignored.

A little further along the main street, but worth walking. A cosy little place, it also opens a bit earlier, which is good for those who would prefer an earlier dinner or if you have early excursions. Large portions of home-cooked food and home-made bread. Owners are very friendly and cheerful, making the experience more enjoyable. All are clearly committed to providing good, hearty food and an enjoyable experience.Muchas Gracias por su comentario!!! Para nosotros fue un placer recibirlos! Esperamos puedan regresar!!

Mi Rancho is a small restaurant which operates in a historic house of 1944. Its 100% homemade food is made from regional raw materials. The old clay oven where the bread is made and some dishes stand out. The place is small so it is advisable to book in a
What a pleasant choice for dinner when you come to El Calafate. Mi Rancho is in a cute little house a few blocks from the main strip Av. Libertador. Simple, home cooked Argentine fare. Of course they have delicious empanadas, steak and trout from the lake. A perfect environment to relax over Malbec after a day of adventures in Patagonia. Please note the restaurant is cash-only and very reasonable; appx $40 USD should cover two guests with wine.

During our four days stay, we had dinner here for the last two nights. Pity we found out too late about this wonderful surprise near our hotel (Los Ãlamos). Charming little family-run local place, friendly service, great (authentic) menu, and in the kitchen a modern cook with a creative approach on (traditional) dishes. We enjoyed it a lot, so therefore, highly recommended. Loved their desserts. Mind you, closed during low season. Try it, I know you will enjoy it. Both of you are lovely!!! We remember that you ordered the same food both days enthusiastic... Thank you for your warmth!!!

We travelled during 2 months in Argentina trying all the Alfajores we could find on our way. Chalteños were THE BEST ones we found!!! We visited this lovely shop EVERY DAY while staying in El Chalten. We were TOTALLY ADDICTED to the Alfajores made fresh every day. There are several choices of flavour and the are all AMAZING!!The service is very friendly as well. DO NOT MISS this place, it's a great treat to have after the hard walks in the area!!!:-)

La Zaina Restaurante & Wine Bar, it is a liltle and cozy restaurante, just one block from the Main St. We have a very quiet and roomy place, where our guest can talk each ohter, and enjoy a great evening inside or in our incredible back yard. We have the
We started with 2 local gin drinks, which were good and strong... Then carpaccio from beef, which was excellent especially the dressing that liften the course. We then shared a lamb course, which was huge. It was slow cooked and tender. Finished off with passion fruit icecream and double espresso. We had also one bottle of CV Catena Malbec. A memorabe evening.

We came here for the lamb, based on TripAdvisor reviews. The lamb was delicious. We also had a flank steak, which was not as satisfying. The views over the lake are beautiful. The ambiance of the restaurant was nothing to write home about. Basically a big open room with tables. Its location is out of town and not really walkable. Service was very good. Here are pros and cons.PROS--Lamb. It was grilled to well done and wrapped in bacon. Very interesting presentation but delicious. --View. Over the lake.--Wine. Reasonably priced.--Service. Very friendly and attentive.--Big parking lot--Take credit cardsCONS--Flank steak was disappointing.--Ambiance was not special. It felt like it could have been a chain steak house in the suburbs--big room. Atmosphere was all about the views.--Not walkable from town
