If you head for the hills in the state you’ll end up in the northern sector where the inspiring mountains and attractions like the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, the Blue & Gray Museum in Decatur and the Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman represent the diversity of experiences available in the area. In the middle of the state you’ll find Birmingham, an urban center with great attractions and museums, and Tuscaloosa, the quintessential college town and home to the University of Alabama. For beach lovers, sandy destinations like Dauphin Island near Mobile, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach offer beautiful beaches, superb golf, fantastic seafood restaurants and heaping helpings of Southern hospitality.
For those who love to chase the white dimpled ball, Alabama offers one of the best golf values anywhere. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, a collection of 468 holes at 11 different sites across the state, features top-notch, championship style courses at affordable rates.

A awesome place to watch a football game with over 100000 people in the stadium. The noise level is great and tuff on the team. A must do if you can get a ticket.

The other Reviewers have done a great job covering the museum and we greatly appreciated their time and effort. Instead of repeating what they have said I’d like to offer a “tip” on parking. The main (marked) parking up on the hill above the airport/museum and is a bit of a hike, especially if you have mobility issues. (if you are traveling with kids that need to burn off some extra energy after a long car ride, it’s great). There is a second (unsigned) parking area for about 20-30 cars that is directly adjacent to the museum hangers. To get to this parking take General Benjamin O Davis Way towards the airport terminal and at the end on the right, you’ll come to the two hangers that house the museum and the parking is in front of first hanger. Hopes this helps!

There's no place like home in Jordan-Hare. Go if you can. Excellent food venues, baths always clean and warm on cold days. It's loud and my tigers are proud!

America's oldest baseball park and former home of the Birmingham Barons is a place where visitors can relive the magic of baseball's glory years.
Having been involved in sports, especially baseball, for much of my life over 65 of my 73 years to-date you owe it to yourself to visit Rickwood Field when you are traveling in the area as it is the very last of the original ballparks of that vintage - A true cannot miss oppotunity to be sure.

We were there for baseball. Great fields and close parking. There are bleachers to sit on but room to take chairs and set up a tent.

They take pride in maintaining this community sports complex. The fields are worthy of any college. They have baseball, softball, &soccer fields, & beach volleyball courts. The complex also has an amazing area for small children to play. Just a quarter mile from the complex sits beautiful hidden lake, (a great area to sit and read or have a picnic). There are also Osprey nests up in the ball field lights, if you love these large, beautiful raptors.

My wife had never been to an Alabama Basketball game so I took her in March 2019. She absolutely loved it and we are looking forward to going to several games next season
