While Atlanta is the anchor and capital of Georgia, you can aim in any direction to find distinctly different regions – from the tail of the Appalachians in the North to the rolling Piedmont hills and on down to the seaside marshes in the East. Atlanta lays claim to the state’s number one attraction – Stone Mountain State Park. They say it best - “Serious fun. Endless adventure.” Just 15 minutes from downtown, the world’s largest exposed granite dome is surrounded by 3,200 acres of natural beauty and stimulating activities for every member of the family – sky rides and hiking paths, laser shows and pedal boats along Stone Mountain Lake. Golfers tee it up, while red foxes dash across the fairways in a state where the Masters Golf Tournament creates revered green-jacket memories every year. It’s a long downhill ride down to historic Savannah, a ‘stone’s throw’ from the Atlantic and a virtual step back in time to Southern architecture and stately squares. St. Simon’s and Jekyll Islands offer barrier island beauty and a wonderful combination of outdoor activities, historic sites and artistic culture. Originally the private winter playground of wealthy northeasterners, Jekyll Island stretches along 10 miles of coastal beaches and inland marshes. Cycling and walking paths wind under moss-laden oaks, and a tour of Millionaire Village takes you back to those Cornelius Vanderbilt and J.P. Morgan days. The kid-friendly Summer Waves Water Park adds man-made fun to natural water sport activities. Coastal golf courses and sophisticated St. Simon’s Island appeal to moms, dads and vacationing couples.

The third oldest Jewish congregation and the only neo-gothic Jewish sanctuary in the U. S. We offer tours that include our historic sanctuary and museum with many historic artifacts including two Torahs written in the 1400's (probably the oldest in the U.S.), a Jewish food festival (last Sunday in October), destination weddings and services every Friday, Saturday and holidays. See our website for calendar of events.
Unique sanctuary, informative and knowledgeable guide, and a small museum with 700 year old artifacts. Learned so much that I was not aware of.

This place is amazing and much better than the tourist trap in Atlanta. $5 admission is nothing compared to what you are able to see here. Don't waste your money in Atlanta. Come to Cedartown.

We just had our daughter’s “Halloween wedding” there...best party since Jay Gatsby’s. Beautiful gardens, still in bloom, excellent outdoor venue and indoor reception/dining/dancing area. The B&B itself is an historic family estate, restored and immaculately furnished and appointed. The breakfast was unique each of our three mornings there, and was a culinary delight.

Hay House is a historic house museum and National Historic Landmark that is owned and operated by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Guided tours of this antebellum mansion are offered daily.
If you love historic homes, the Hay House is a must! First, we had an excellent guide who was very personable and very informative. The architecture of this home is just amazing. This is the first home that we have ever seen curved pocket doors, unbelievable! If you have the opportunity to get the extended tour then definitely do it. Unfortunately, they weren't offering it when we went due to COVID restrictions, but we would definitely go back just to add that to the tour. It's nice to visit a historic home that actually has almost all of the original details. If you're in Macon, definitely make this one of your stops!

Recently restored to its original gilded look of the 1920s, the Fox Theatre features "Mighty Mo," a classic Moller organ with over 3,600 pipes. The lavish theatre currently hosts Broadway musicals, comedy shows and dance companies throughout the year.
Great and beautiful venue in downtown Atlanta!! My husband and I were there back in June to see Third Day and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very nice and helpful in helping us find our seats and everything was very well organized!

Victorian period house built in 1885 by Mr. Charles Lapham. House has Queen Anne, Stick and Victorian period elements. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for those 18 and under.
Odd shaped house with plenty of interesting and tragic stories. A great example of community effort to restore a jewel. It has 3 floors which you visit during your tour and no 2 rooms are alike. Highly recommended.

The Woodrow Wilson Boyhood Home, a National Historic Landmark, is located at 419 7th St. within the boundaries of the Augusta Downtown Historic District. The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson serves as a house museum depicting the life of the 28th President as a boy growing up in Georgia during the Civil War and Reconstruction. As the oldest Presidential residence in the state, it serves as an educational facility and a historic attraction for the City of Augusta, the State of Georgia and the Nation. It is owned and operated by Historic Augusta, Inc.
Toured the Boyhood home of Woodrow Wilson and while I thought I would just see a few fun facts about him I also learned about Augusta and how life would have been if we would lived in that era. Very educational your. Walking into this museum is like taking a leap back into time, which I loved. Highly recommended.
