Be prepared to have time on your hands as there is so much to see here! There are also monthly auctions and a quaint little tearoom where you can get light snacks, lunches or tea.

And I was not disappointed. It is a strange but fascinating shop. It appears to be a shambles and you have to pick your way through an eclectic mixture of items but you soon realise that there is order in what appears to be chaos. I defy anyone not to find a book or two of interest here. The owner, once you start speaking to him is very helpful and informative and is very much part of the character of the shop.

The Alleyways Bridport Antiques Centre is in the beautiful town of Bridport, Dorset in the Art & Antique Quarter on the Saint Michael’s Trading Estate. The building may be old and have a few leaks but it all adds to the charm of the place. With its partitioned areas each trader has their own unit, and we now have over 50 of them. We are by no means alone, there are other shops with their Antiques & Collectables together with an excellent upholsterer, craftsmen with workshops, glass supplier, sign maker, large discount furniture store, large electrical retailer and not to forget an excellent cafe and wine merchant plus lots more. We have our own in-house workshop at the rear housing our own wood turner, joiner/carpenter who repairs some of our furniture, refurbishes, renovates and makes tables to order. A bespoke picture framer and furniture maker works alongside our many units offering the widest range of antiques and collectables in Bridport. The actual shop has an eclectic mix of it
The shop has a great variety of items and I got a wonderful and unique book. I really enjoyed having a look around. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
