We loved when Enricos was there. We really wanted to love the old Cafe Portofino. There were just too many problems. Smokers congregating at the restaurant entrance, bar noise coming over the unfinished wall, incomplete menu, poor food preparation, bad service... The wall is now closed. There was no noise from the bar. The interior is still formal. Cloth tablecloths, nice decor. The servers are nice, and try hard, but they need experience. It shows. The menu was very good. The execution was not perfect, but it was close. They are nice people, and they are trying. They will get better over time. Within a month or two, they could be one of the best restaurants in the area.

Perfect for any occasion, Café Portofino offers lakeview dining. Our dishes, prepared with the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, include mouthwatering appetizers, delicious salads, daily soups, Italian-influenced entrées, seafood, steaks and more.
Four of us friends got together for a fun night of drinking and eating at the Cafe Portofino Bistro.. The place was lively with a singing guitarist, although my table seemed to be the only table appreciating the entertainment. Others were loudly chatting and did not acknowledge the singer at all. We felt bad for him.We ordered drinks and although they took a long time to arrive, they were good enough. We ordered a second round. Our calamari appetizer was just ok..it was not temperature hot and that is how we all like it.The eggplant parmigiana was over cooked and had an overbearing bread coating. Most of it was left on the plate. The burger was...a burger, nothing special. The balsamic glazed chicken was ok, nothing special and the fries were not temperature hot. The spaghetti and meatballs were pedestrian. Our server was very good and we treated her accordingly. We created our own fun time, but will not be back.
This place is def off the beaten path! I was very surprised to find it and even more amazed with the food! Def southern down home cooking! Great options that are made fresh and pretty popular among folks for lunch!
Excellent tacos $4-6 and $2 Margaritas. Nuff said! Talked with owner a wonderful engaged young business person. Focused on having Happy Customers return. Tacos of spices chicken, Vietnamese Pork with Pineapple salsa and Lengua. All good. Beans and Rice had a smokey Chipotle flavor. Avocado served ripe and flavorful. Ate outside on warm day due to no reservations but wonderful service.

Great spot right on the main highway through town, the bbq is great, but the sides may be better. The mustard potato salad is very good, but the smoked potato salad is even better. The mac&cheese and cole slaw are excellent. Brisket is available on Wednesdays, don't miss that.

Conveniently located on the grounds of The Ridges Resort, The Oaks Lakeside Kitchen offers a rich, flavorful experience for all your senses. Lake Chatuge and the Blue Ridge Mountains serve as a tranquil backdrop that is enhanced by a natural, yet manicure
Saturday was the first-time dining at The Oaks Lakeside Kitchen on the property of The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge in Hiawasee Georgia. I had visited this quaint mountain town a few times before with friends, and they knew this restaurant had been given a new fresh perspective so we gave it a whirl. Bottomline results â hidden gem we were delighted to find and plan to add this to the regular rotation.Entering the restaurant, we loved the tastefully decorated casual atmosphere, but initially hesitated when realizing very few customers were there dining. This worked in our favor with fantastic service and friendly locals sitting near us on the gorgeous patio overlooking the lake and mountain backdrop. We started with nicely chilled martinis immediately followed by a warm welcome and introduction to the highly credentialed Chef Adam Daniel. This became his first of several stops at our table throughout the evening, ensuring everything was to our liking. Initially we were thrilled to accept his personally delivered one-bite appetizer having crunch, savory & sweetness to amuse our mouths which was quickly followed by two additional tasty treats further piquing our interest with locally sourced fresh produce and seafood. Instantly hooked! Not to mention the basket of fresh warm biscuits with herb butter that beat any Iâve had in a long time, and I am a biscuit foodie. We both ordered the filet dinner because itâs simply wonderful having a chef prepare a great steak meal for you. Oh, so tender and flavorful, beautiful presentation, generous portion, surrounded by gorgeous gently cooked mushrooms, onions and fingerling potatoes with a delightful drizzle. Thankfully I am enjoying this meal a second time while writing this review, otherwise Iâd be hungry for it all over again. Well done Chef Adam and team! We look forward to the next time.Dear Allison M,Thank you for your wonderful review! Chef Adam and our team work exceptionally hard to ensure our guests have an incredible dining experience, so your kind comments will make their day. We also appreciate you mentioning our innovative menu and the delicious options made with only the freshest ingredients. We look forward to seeing you again whenever your travels bring you to North Georgia!Sincerely, Tiffany LeonardRestaurant Manager

Ate here on Saturday, prime rib buffet and it was awesome! Compared to most buffets this is a smaller one but every item was top notch. We got quality over quantity which left us feeling totally satisfied with the size

My friends and I spent a wonderful Labor Day weekend across the state line in North Carolina and were looking forward to a final meal together before heading our separate ways. We decided to give Maryâs Southern Grill a try after seeing a copy of the menu at our cabin. We were not disappointed. The place was hopping and clearly a favorite with the locals. I ordered a short stack, and the pancakes were large, fluffy, and delicious. I also had a country ham biscuit, which I took with me. The biscuit was large and the ham plentiful. One friend enjoyed her meat loverâs omelette with hash browns and toast while the other friend had a veggie omelette with grits and a biscuit. Our server was celebrating her 19th birthday, and the entire restaurant sang happy birthday. It is clearly a family atmosphere, and that is reflected in the excellent service and food. With it being Labor Day, breakfast was our only option, but we didnât mind because everything was delicious. It is cash only so keep that in mind.

Friends brought us to their favorite restaurant and now we see why. Country decor, delightful wait staff, great food, very reasonable prices. Even the noise levels were very reasonable when more than half filled. This is "down home cookin'" by people that do it well and reasonably. It's easy to see why this is a favorite of locals. Big city folks may be a bit put off by waitresses that greet you as "honey" or "darlin"" but you will feel right at home here and leave full.
