Nice staff, informative on business history and menu. New building ice machine needs service. Features a picture wall of famous left handed celebrities. For fun, should start a âlocal wallâ... will go back.

After spending 3 hours driving back home and missing out on breakfast and lunch I felt it was appropriate to treat my wife with a nice afternoon meal. Weâve noticed that this Applebeeâs location is usually very busy. And, as we discovered, for good reason. We were treated like royalty from the moment we approached the front door. We were seated quickly and our waitress, Myia did a great job of making suggestions and taking care of the two of us. Thanks Myia! It was a great way to wind down our day and enjoy a great dinner.

My wife and I were here for lunch on a beautiful Memorial Day and, not surprisingly, the place was busy and noisy. There was an interesting mix of clientele: young people, boaters, families, bikers and seniors like us. Service was good considering the business of the place. The food was your run of the mill bar food. I had fish and chips which was a very generous portion (3 pieces) but not crispy, a bit soggy and oily. I also had a side of guacamole which was good but not great. I would have liked a few chips with it but you would have to order a whole bowl, so I didn't bother. My wife had the calamari strips which were OK.

Wow what a transformation to the restaurant. We stopped by this restaurant on a whim because we were in the area. We hadnât been there in a while and was pleasant surprised! They knocked down the old restaurant and built a new building with updates. The food was great also! Breadsticks were the same and terrific, garlic cheese dip was to die for. I had the tuna steak prepared rare and it was fantastic. Good food means good wait. If you are going, be prepared to wait 30 minutes or so for a table, stay and wait you will not be disappointed!!

Had an early dinner and it was great. We tried Yankee Pot Roast and Jambalaya Both were great Too many places think Cajun means burn your mouth. These people understand spicy with some heat but not overwhelming. The service was excellant. The portions were quite adequate. We will return.

Awesome place to eat, food is excellent and know they opened a second restaurant in Walled Lake, my wife had my 50th Birthday at the new location. The ribs and chicken strips were gone so fast.Nothing but compliments on the food from everyone. Superbly one of the best restaurants around.

Tried out the new Highland House and loved it! The inside is so beautiful and has several options for seating, including a new patio and covered area with opening doors. The best part is the menu and food are the same as what we have enjoyed for so many years. Will definitely be back soon!

The Greek salad and Breadsticks are unforgettably delicious. I love the chicken Spanakopita. Large portions, great for lunch the next day!

Not a regular, occasional visitor. Being solo, sit at the bar and have dinner. Same female bartender as always, and boy, what a downer it can be. No life, no personality, and seemed to be such a chore to serve you. This has been the same whenever she works. Going to ask for a table next time, if I ever return. Good food only goes so far. Ownership, think about a change. Not the only one who has the same opinion who my frequent the bar.

What has happened to Root? Our first visit since Chef James Rigato left. It was always a destination. Today we went for brunch with friends at 1:00; brunch was scheduled until 3. Such a huge disappointment...wine list was pedestrian, server was not knowledgeable about wines nor prepared for all the changes to todayâs menu. -Baguettes for turkey sandwiches were too dry- substituted burger bun. -No chicken left for any of the entrees.-Eggs Benedict- no leek cream, no spinach, and eggs were over cooked. No incentive for us to return. So unfortunate.
