The food is very good, with very good portion sizes. If you like fried shrimp, quite often they are on special. I've also had their gumbos which I really like, and if you ask, they have coconut shrimp as an appetizer that is great! The service is also friendly and attentive. Recommend highly.

This place has some really amazing food! I ordered hummus with pita bread, a Greek salad, and a custom pizza. Everything was delicious!!! The pizza was just perfect and the toppings they offer are truly "artisan" The balsamic glaze is definitely an odd on to try on your pizza! Looking forward to try their dessert next time!

Most strangers to town will visit because it's the oldest deli in Texas, however there is another good reason to stop, great food. With a friendly family run feel we tried the daily special of meat loaf, excellent taste and portion and great value. The walls are decorated with period art and the bar seems to be straight from the history books, a fascinating and worthwhile visit.

Jason's Deli

Reviewed By OmAndNom

Om: Our Saturday night dinner after the wedding involved a stop at Jason’s Deli, my favorite chain deli! If I were trying to talk someone into going here, I would say that there is a large variety of menu items, from potatoes to sandwiches to macaroni, and that everything that I’ve had there has been really good. I would also recommend the club sandwich because it’s made on a croissant!!! It’s also nice to grab a few graham crackers from the salad bar while we waited! If I were to try to talk someone into going someplace else, I might say that a deli is a deli is a deli, and Jason’s doesn’t necessarily stand THAT far apart from your McAlister’s of the world. Overall, I really enjoy Jason’s Deli, and this location is consistent with other location – delicious sandwiches at a great price with friendly service…thank you for our adventure my Beautiful Nom!!!Nom: Jason’s is always a good stop! We stopped with the boys and they are a good reliable chain! Even the boys, who can be picky, ate well! I had half sandwich and soup and it was a tasty toasty croissant and cold turkey and cold veggies! Not the best value price wise but good food and predicable! Thank YOU for our adventure handsome!!

Texas Roadhouse is my go-to chain when traveling (I typically avoid chains) because it is very consistent, reliable, and affordable. This visit wasn't as great as I am accustomed to, but I would definitely return. I always get the ribeye and expect some fat because it is a marbled cut, but this one had more fat than usual. Baked sweet potato is great - especially fully loaded. I like their sweet tea also. Best prices and consistent quality of the comparable steakhouse chains. Service was very good.

What a bust this meal was!We were staying in Goliad and drove to Victoria for lunch. I ordered the Lasagna with vegetables and salad. "With vegetables" meant the lasagna had cooked shredded carrots in it! It was also served with side of buttered potatoes. Just not my kind of lasagna. Meal came with one trip to salad bar. Tiny salad bar.Hubby had Sauerkraut and Sausage which was 3 thin and small slices of sausage on a mountain of sauerkraut!

2 of our party got the chicken fried chicken and 2 of us got the chicken fried steak. The lady behind the counter actually recommended the chicken fried chicken and said in her opinion it was better than the chicken fried steak. She was definitely correct. Although the chicken fried chicken is about half the size of the chicken fried steak, you still get plenty of food in it was actually good. The chicken fried steak is large, very inexpensive, and just not very good. It really lacked any kind of flavor. This place is extremely busy, because their prices are cheap. The salads were OK, nothing special. The potatoes tasted like they were instant, as did the gravy. The consensus from our table was: we are pretty full and the bill was inexpensive. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. If you do decide to go, get the chicken fried chicken - it's actually good, and get another side besides the mashed potatoes.
