Things to do in Troy
The dining options in Troy are limited on the best of days, and on Sundays are very limited, so when my daughter suggested we eat at Preston's I was curious to say the least. I've reviewed the TA pages for Troy many times and didn't recall that name, but she said it was a steakhouse so I was game. Following my daughters directions I went south on 231 and turned where she told me.....into a Gas Station parking lot. I was hesitant, and asked if it was around back and she explained that it was in the gas station. Oh boy, I'm thinking. Apparently Preston's took over one of those locations where a fast food restaurant is located in a Gas Station, so the ambiance is definitely no higher than a C, but the staff are extremely friendly (as they are every where in Troy) and even though there is a counter from the locations prior life, table service is the order of the day, and the menu is a full steak house menu with everything from chops, burgers, ribs, steaks and salads, and everything we had was top shelf. The steak tips were perfect, well marinated and served medium rare as requested (very hard to do with tips), the side dishes were prize worthy, from Sweet Potato waffle fries, to fired green beans and grilled asparagus everything could have been proud to be served in a linen table cloth setting. Preston's in that location is truly hiding, and it aught not to be, as it is a fine place, with good food and good service, in a town that needs more dining options. I hope they find a way to bring the business in, it's truly worth it.

"I was taught from a young age to always greet guests with warmth, a clean house and the best from your pantry. I saw firsthand that a good meal could not only console during times of grief but bring people together during times of joy. I look forward to
We avoided this place because we were under the impression that it was super fancy. It is really nice, but average people are welcome too Great appetizers! We could go just for the appetizers... the Southern Bruschetta and the Pimento Cheese Fritters are amazing!!! The Fried Green Tomato BLT is great! The homemade pork rinds are really good too. We hope to go back for a date night and try some of the specialties. Parking is the only drawback but thatâs just part of being on the square. Itâs a great atmosphere.
Much faster and tastier than Subway, for about the same price! We had a ham & cheese and a roasted chicken sub. Both were delicious!

The sauce is what makes the chicken...and it even tastes good on the fries. Often, you crave Crowe's after you have had it the first time. We have friends that come visit us from out of state and they always ask about eating at Crowe's.

This place is great! The appearance of the restaurant is a little to be desired but the food is excellent. Everything was well seasoned and tasty! We both had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches with their homemade fries. I'd definitely recommend this little spot if you're traveling through Troy looking for good, home cooking.

Rather than getting more fast food while passing through Troy, my husband and I decided to try Juliaâs. We were both pleasantly surprised. The buffet was well stocked, the waitresses were efficient and friendly, and the food was the level of comfort we were both looking for!

We had something off the lunch menu. I was impressed with price and quality of the food. Quiet and cozy for a meal with husband on the lunch break. Will defintely be back.

I wish I had better things to say. Our first clue should have been there were two other cars there at 9PM. The place should have been busier. We were starving, so why not? The second warning sign was the table, just shy of the waiting area, full of employees eating. They deserve a break, and earned it - I'm sure, but really guys...shamelessly grubbing in front of customers? C'mon man. The food took quite a while to come out and was, in all honesty, below average. The fries were cold, and drenched in grease. My steak was a bit tough, even when done med/rare. Yet another clue: Our server asked if I wanted steak sauce for my NY strip. A valid question at a diner, but a "steakhouse"? Then - she was SURPRISED when I didn't want it!! DANGER ZONE! At the end of our meal, when asked, i said the food was ok. She was surprised, and asked, "Really? You can be honest with me." That pretty much sealed it. On the way out: more employees hanging out on the front porch smoking. I will say this however: our server, was very friendly, prompt with her service (though the food took forever) and seemed to care about how she was doing. Skip this place.

We had the bacon, spinach and tomato pizza and it was great! Wonderful tasting and flavorful crust; we did ask for some Ranch dressing on the side and that just added to this delicious pizza. Our server, Eli, was great; I highly commend him for his service and attentiveness to our table. The down side: be prepared to wait on your food; plan to spend at least 1 1/2 hours there, mostly waiting on your food to be prepared. Nothing is prepared in advanced, only when ordered.

We enjoyed our first trip to Sisters' Restaurant in Troy, AL. The food was very tasty, there was a wide variety and there was plenty of it. The service was good. Everything was very acceptable except for the banana pudding. First of all, there was no pudding to it. It was mostly vanilla wafers and a sort of confectioners' sugar glaze. There were very few banana slices in it. I have never had banana pudding like that before. Maybe it wasjust that day and they were having problems, but I was really looking forward to it, since they said their banana pudding is world famous. Disappointing.
