I don't know where the slick looking food on the website was, but the menu was bleah. After eating two terrible meals we ate great meals in town at small restaurants and at the mercado and that was after having paid the "all inclusive" price. Breakfast was ok, but they ran out of coffee and would not make any more, there were at least 6 people who would have had another cup or twoDear GuestYou wrote this review last year, and since then we have made many changes, including our new menu. The food you are referring to was our all inclusive food, which is lower quality than from our menu. If you purchased an all inclusive package, you will receive our set all inclusive food, or you can spice it up and order from our menu. The coffee situation, I assure you has been fixed, and the incident you experienced was with one bartender, who is no longer working with us. We take pride in hiring the best, and we hope you return again soon.Thank you.Lucas BoychukDirector of Operations

Republika Bar is a favorite hot spot for expats, local, and travelers alike. Day & Night you will find people enjoying their extensive Menu featuring breakfast (served all day long), organic salads, burgers, tacos, VEGAN & VEGETARIAN meals and a large sel
Great place to socialize with expats. The fries are to die for! Visited here several times during our week long stay, and all of the food was top notch. Juliette(owner) and Sarah are awesome bartenders, and the service from all of the wait staff was great. An awesome place to socialize in San Juan del Sur with expats and tourists. Repeat scale: definitely!!
In an area with so few choices for dining you almost want to give anything that is above average 5 stars but this place deserves it. The food is delicious! Really beyond... the best French toast I've ever had (I suggest with the mango chutney). The owner is a trained Baker so all of the breads and sweets are amazing (and you can take them to go) but the savory dishes like the schnitzel are also on a different level. And, the restaurant is quite charming with a garden setting and beautiful seating. Very cool spot!
Pizzeria Mama Ricarte's is proud to serve the customer proclaimed best pizza in Central America. We use only the finest and freshest ingredients in our pizza and meals including the use of olive oil. We serve delicious lunches and dinners Tipico Nicaragua
My wife and I stopped in at this Pizza place right next to the Rivas bus terminal on our way back to Granada from Ometape. Gene, the owner was from Boston, settled in Nicaragua and a pleasant guy to chat with about living in Nicaragua. The pizza and grilled cheese sandwich brought back memories of growing up in a small town in WA state and visiting local diner.
This review actually concerns the bar at Finca Popoyo. We have a place down the beach, so just come for the beach, the waves, the sunset and the cold beer. There simply isn't anything better than a cheap cold beer on bluff overlooking a beautiful beach with the sun going down. This is the vibe I come to Nicaragua for. Great crowd of international beach bums. They serve Tona and Victoria for a $1.25 and although the sign mentions food, all that is normally available at the bar is packaged snacks like taquis and pork rinds. The bar is open air and has seating for 10-20 in chairs, hammocks and on logs. Popoyo beach has a rocky shelf, so you have to be careful where you swim, but the sand is pretty and it runs for a long way north and south.Getting there can be a little tricky, but between local advice and google earth, your adventure will be worth it. In general, head towards Magnificent Rock hotel, but as you approach the last kilometer, look for a gate and road on the right, hopefully you'll see a sign for Finca Popoyo (maybe, maybe not). Just tell the guard you are going up for drinks. They are friendly. Bring cords or dollars, I didn't see a credit card machine.

Gourmet Hamburgers-the BEST in San Juan del Sur
The burgers here were amazing, the bartender was the bomb - every drink we tried was absolutely amazing and he makes the besttttt bloody mary (which is more similar to a Caesar, which makes this Canadian very happy!). We went here on back to back days as we couldn't resist it. Highly recommended!

We loved this little spot. We visited multiple times for dinner with our little boy (14 months old) and were treated SO well! The Italian food is super authentic, simple and delicious. We love that it felt like home cooking and the atmosphere was super relaxed and open. Homemade bread, pasta and the goats cheese salads were all highlights! YUM.

After recent renovations, this little Sandwich shop has turned into a restaurant with an Urban feel and a vibe that make you never want to leave. Still serving up breakfast and deli sandwiches everyone knows and loves, and additionally is now open evening
I had twice the dale burger. Once delivered to my hotel and once at the restaurant. It was great and the rum with maracuya was great accompaniment.

Translated, our name is The Farm and the Sea. We showcase a locally sourced menu. Relax and soak in the ambiance of the archi-tec-ture of La Finca y el Mar which was inspired, in part, by sea-side farm-houses in AndalucÃa, Spain. Open-air ter-races frame
Wouldn't say it's extraordinary, but there was decent food selection for the kids and adults. Everything is locally sourced and I must admit the ingredients were not only selected with care, but prepared well too. Unlike my review for the Mansita in Costa Rica, they were actually able to mix local and international cuisine seamlessly. Our friends loved their Margaritas and my wife and I loved the Mango Sangria. The only negative for me was when our neighbor kicked me in the shin for asking a question. Probably deserved it, but really wasn't trying to be a wise guy this time. O.K. I deserved it. Edgar, our waiter, a good one too, went over the two specials, the Flounder and the "Special Salad." I asked what kind of salad that was? O.K. I asked, "What made this salad special?" O.K., O.K. I sort of said, "What makes your salad special?" That's when I got kicked. I take my reviews seriously and want to be constructive rather than critical, but I do have a tendency to go for low hanging fruit for humor sometimes. Apologies to Edgar and Leef.
