Being very busy I happened to spot this Steak Sandwich Shop when they were in Sparta. The staek sandwich was not as good as I thought it should be. They are now on Route 15 South in Laffeyette next to the Dunkin Donuts. I hope they got better

Homers has been our go-to place for lunch and breakfast. Whether it's meeting a friend, or grabbing a quick bite with the hubby, it's sure to please. It's Family -run and very reasonable in price. All breakfast is great. For lunch, choose from a variety including soups, sandwiches, salads, burgers and more.

Most people would pass up the Village Saloon thinking it was just another neighborhood bar. If they do too bad for them! This little bar is quaint and rustic and has great food! The staff is nice and friendly. The prices are great and the dining selections go way beyond the typical bar fare. Their specials are great food for great process. Their homemade blue cheese dressing is awesome. No riff-raff here! Eat great food, have a couple of drinks, play some pool. It is a great place for girls night out!

We moved to the area recently and finding some where good to eat if challenging! The first few times we came service was okay, but the food (Steaks and burgers) was delicious so we came back. Each time we went back the service got worse. Staff if very unfriendly and we feel forgotten about when we eat there. The portions and burgers got smaller too. Very disappointing!

Starter meal aka OMG meal. Great for a small meal, or for kids. Only $9. Four delicious wedges served with yummy Green guacamole, White sour cream, and Red salsa...placed on the plate like the Mexican flag.Excellent...tasty...mildly spiced..perfectly cooked.Chicken pieces are moist, & flour tortillas fully stuffed. I would definitely order this again!

The burger tasted like it was frozen, i asked for med rare, it came out fully cooked... tasted gritty. Got another burger to replace it hopefully med/rare... nope... it was more cooked than the previous if possible, and burnt. Bun was like from local grocery store. Little macaroni salad and potato salad wasn't even edible with salt and pepper. The bread I purchased was good. Never go back there. ps. chocolate brownie dessert tasted like fake sugar was thrown into the brownie mix. That when in the garbage along with the first burger and bun and salads. What people see in this place is beyond me. Adorable looking, but dirty as you go the rest room in back. .

My friend and I meet every few months for lunch and this time we chose Krogh's in Sparta New Jersey. Krogh's is a cozy pub style restaurant with a full bar in the Lake Mohawk section of Sparta. In addition to cocktails, wine and beer, Krogh's brews their own beer with many varieties on tap. We both ordered Krogh's brewed beer. She ordered the Mounds Stout and I the Grunney's Belgian Dubbel. Both were refreshing and delicious. For lunch we ordered a blackened catfish over rice and the Welsh Rarebit chicken sandwich. The catfish came with a side salad. It was moist and cooked perfectly. I have not seen a Welsh Rarebit on a menu in years. You could order it with chicken, as I did, or with a burger. The sauce was rich and delicious. We shared a decadent coffee royale mud pie for dessert. A busy Saturday morning is not the time to visit this restaurant because the wait staff cannot handle the pressure and hardly hides their annoyance. Two of us found a table and sat there for what seemed like a long time while 2 waiters rushed by us several times without making eye contact and when we got the attention of one of them, he picked up menus but stopped to assist other patrons and when we curtesly tried to get his attention, he kind of flipped us off. When finally he came over, no apologies and he left without taking our coffee order. We felt like afterthoughts. Finally when the order arrived, we had to go ask at the busy counter for salt and pepper and was told we should ask our waiter. We would have if he was about. I might add, the salt and pepper was hurriedly dropped off at the table by an annoyed barista. The food was good, I like the simple, stlylish design of the place but owners, please train your staff to be pleasant, welcoming and polite to your guests because without them you donât have a business.
