Miti Miti serves a wonderful selection of Latin food in a small restaurant space close to the train station in South Orange. The facility is very clean and the service is prompt. There is a small dining area around to the side. We picked up a variety of empanadas for a snack and they were nicely fried, non greasy and plump with filling. Our favorite was the guava, with a filling of guava puree and cream cheese. To die for. We will definitely return to try more selections.

I've had breakfast at Jackie & Son twice now. They have a lovely corner location on SO Avenue that's filled with light. The food is excellent. Breakfast is a mix of traditional items, many with a with a Middle Eastern or other interesting twist. I'm not a scone person, but their raspberry lemon iced scone is incredible. The avocado toast is also on a whole other level. They have a number of delicious sounding juices and smoothies on the menu as well. The lunch items look terrific. Interesting salads and sandwiches, as well as meze plates that you can assemble from a long list of choices. The team is friendly and helpful. Also a really nice story - go check out the website. We'll be back often!

Great to dine in or take out. Probably 50 sandwiches to choose from. Most are pressed with a panini machine. Fresh ingredients. I had the Gossip Girl which was grilled chicken, mozzarella, roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar. Juicy and flavorful. My son liked jay ray. Fresh bread too. You can design your own salad too. All the staff were nice and willing to cater to your needs. Definitely will go back.On the street parking with 15 minutes free. Great if picking up to go.

Southern-style menu coupled with great jazz music, some evenings live, and great cocktails make this a phenomenal place in South Orange village. Located on busy Valley Street, you need to find street parking or walk from one of the parking lots closer to the train station. The decor is very tasteful and the service is wonderful. With a great selection of foods, both for those who prefer small plates to those who want a larger meal, this place is the real deal!

Coda Kitchen and Bar

We visited Coda expecting great food and service. The food was ok. I enjoyed the shrimp soup and blackened chicken sandwich. Friends had the short rib grilled cheese which he raved about. The baby back ribs were a bit dry on the inside and quite saucy on the outside. The waitress was a bit abrupt at times and unnecessarily confrontational. For example my friend who was on a diet asked for a little slaw with his grilled cheese sandwich. The waitress said they didn’t have slaw. When the ribs came out they had slaw. Really!!Didn’t appreciate the non effort to make him happy over a few tablespoons of slaw. I blame mgt for that. Overall, Coda was OK. Will probably return.

We met our friends for brunch on Labor Day: was not too crowded. Voted by NJ.com as best diner in Essex County, we decided to meet our friends for a meal. Our friends had the eggs Benedict and really liked them. My wife had an omelette and thought it was good but not great. I had a wrap with fries. The balsamic vinegar on the wrap made the wrap too soggy. The fries were good. Server was super friendly. They have a parking lot.
