Four us us arrived at about 4:00 for Happy Hour. When we seated outdoors, the waitress brought dinner menus. We asked for and received happy hour menus. The selections were such that to satisfy your appetite, you needed to order two. The calimari was especially delicious as were the sliders. The drinks were good as was the service. Before departing, we took a look inside the old building an met the owner who was an very interesting and informative person. All in all, we will be going there in the future. Old Wethersfield is a beautiful area in Connecticut and worth a visit just to see the homes.

When you're in the mood for good service and great seafood be sure to check out Max Fish, the newest of the Max Restaurant Groups fine dining establishments. True to the Max Restaurant Groups mission statement, this restaurant embodies an uncompromising c
This is a terrific place for seafood lovers.I had the bouillabaisse ($28), although it had a different name on the menu. It is a mix of a small lobster, mussels, clams, etc. Delicious. One of our group had lobster pasta ($25)and another the halibut ($32). Everyone raved about their food choice. We shared starters of a very good fried calamari and 6 Noank oysters. I can't blame Max Fish for the size of the oysters which were very small. They seem to be like that everywhere. I haven't had a plump oyster since I was in Paris and Tokyo, two places where you don't mess around with food quality. There are menu choices for those who don't like seafood. The cocktails were expertly created. Our waitress was very nice and a pro.

This a great farm for picking your own berries and fruits. Tractors rides out the field are fun for the entire family. Lots of parking and a nice gift shop. Prices seem a little high since your doing all the work picking, but all in all it's a great place.

As a travel professional I attended a meeting at Dakota Steakhouse and the number of private meeting areas is commendable. While there our group enjoyed dinner. We had the steak and scallops and it was the first time in ages that a waitress asked me when presenting my meal to cut into the steak to make sure it was to my liking. It certainly was. they also have a murder mystery each month which sounds interesting. We will be back.Great to hear. Please check our website for updates or sign up for our newsletter via the website. Thank you for your business.

My biggest disappointment in this restaurant was the atmosphere. My husband and I tried it out for dinner one evening and the LED lights everywhere made the dining room feel sterile and cavernous. The food and drinks were just OK. We need more good restaurants in S. Glastonbury- I hope this one can turn it around.

Enjoy dinner with a river view. Picnic tables, BYOB, nice menu with specials of the day. Outdoor atmosphere promotes friendly conversation with your group and others. Wait staff provided quick service. Fish, lobster rolls, burgers, pork sandwich, onion rings, and fries are a few of the offerings. Enjoyed my food and the atmosphere, so will hope to return soon.

Shrimp Scampi was great, Bay Scallops were very good, but the rice was dryand tasteless. Dinner comes with family style salad and their special dressings. A Fruit Basket was offered after dinner, but we were too full to enjoy it. The waitress offered to wrap the fruit in a basket, to go. It contained grapes, melon slices pineapple and watermelon slices along with an orange. We were given hot hand towels after dinner, which was very enjoyable. We will be returning again when we are in the area again.

J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Blue potato
Another great evening at J Gilbertâsâa super way to wrap up the Labor Day holiday weekend. Martinis were excellent and 1/2 price wine on Mondays is hard to beat. Fabulous buffalo mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad to start followed by a sirloin steak for hubby and filet & shrimp combo for me. Totally awesome and Rob, our server, made it a relaxed and wonderful evening with dinner in the barâour favorite. We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Thanks for a great time. Canât wait to return.

Every month a friend & I choose a place for breakfast or lunch. This month it was Ken's. We got there at 8:30 and got one of the few empty tables. By 9:00 the place was packed with 15 to 20 people waiting. We both ordered a pancake with my friend ordering hash and I added the home fries. The pancake was as big as a frizzbee and was hanging off the plate. He pancake was very good and the home fries were outstanding. My friend finished his hash which he throughly enjoyed. I'm glad we tried Ken's and would be happy to go again.

My wife and I joined three other people for dinner at 2 Hopewell to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of our dear friends. As soon as we felt the quiet ambience of the dining room, we suspected we were in the right place. The moment we were greeted by Caesar, our server, we were sure of it.From the Chopin martinis to the wine, from the burrata we all shared to start to each of our entrees, from our friend's birthday Creme Brûlée to the rest of our desserts, everything was as classy as it was delicious.Treat yourself (or a friend). Try it.
