We've been to American Cheese through their transition from the beginnings at the farmers market to the small shop on main to the present and fantastic location on Railroad. They've been on Railroad for almost what seems like 3 years and they have been rock stars throughout. Nothing says a great Sunday afternoon than a few glasses of wine and a selection of three cheeses and and a side of sliced boar meat. Additionally they offer Art and wine classes in the fall and winter; and then also outdoor movie nights in the late spring/summer. This is one of the places that defines Sayville and worth a visit

Walk in mid week, served promptly and pleasantly. Good list of specials, good draft list. Apps: Sayville Fries, VERY good. Fried Calimari, Excellent! Dinners were all very good Attentive, friendly server. Smart move: 8 peeps for dinner, brought a pitcher for the table for ice water. A recurrent family favorite.

We tried this restaurant as someplace different then our usual eateries. The reviews were good and the menu on their web site looked amazing and now having eaten there can honestly say both were correct. The night we were there the place was jammed packed (reservations are highly recommended) so our waiter was a bit overwhelmed and that was the only neg. of our experience. Even with the crowd and our waiter a little slow getting to us and checking in once and a while (like forgetting our bread, slow getting our drinks, not checking to see if we needed anything, etc...) all was mostly forgiven once our food arrived. I had the baked lasagna and growing up an Italian NY'er I know my pasta's and what's good and what's not. This lasagna was among the best I've had (not as good as my nonnina's though). And everyone we dined with that night raved about each of their dishes. The prices were not cheap, but not over the top either. The atmosphere had a sort of a clean, industrial type feel. The soft lighting helped, but the noise level all around us was high. I gave it 4 stars for the reasons mentioned above: very, very crowded, waiter was overwhelmed and we had to keep flagging him down for service and a little too noisy for me, but oh the food, the food was amazing and would rate 5 stars. Perhaps a slower night or different time slot for our visit and it would have received an overall 5 stars, maybe(?). For me, when I write a review and score it's rating, for a place to earn 5 stars ALL the elements must be worthy of 5 stars. I do however recommend trying this restaurant and because the menu had so many tantalizing, appealing options leaving me wanting to taste and what we did have was that good I know we'll be going back.

Nice place. Great location. Respectable draft tap list Service was good. Initial order problem with surprise ingredient (wasnât listed on menu, but was in the delivered meal). Server promptly offered replacement. Replacement was brisket sandwich. Very good roll, but too much bread overall, in the bread to ingredient ratio. Too much mushroom... tasted mushroom, not the brisket. Companions were pretty happy with their meals, but also noted the bread:content ratio.

We stopped by for a very late lunch and the place was empty (thought it was closed) but it was open and we were in between the lunch and dinner crowds.Service was great, really welcoming. I had a Blue Point Pumpkin Beer which rocked and the Flounder Sandwich: awesome! My wife had the Cod taco's, there were fantastic. We had a great lunch, price was slightly high for lunch but still we were very happy and totally stuffed. Wonderful meal, highly recommended.

Cafe Joelle is a restaurant that has been located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Sayville for over 30 years. It was recently purchased by James Caporuscio & Kyle Kenny and is still operating under the same name and has the same menu with new item
We elected to chose from their brunch menu which offered a wide variety of choices. The food was well prepared and the service was excellent. This is a really nice place which weâll definitely come back to.

Both a butcher shop with a small restaurant area attached. Excellent burgers and many other interesting offerings such as a fried oyster taco! Courteous service, reasonable prices, but our one complaint, too much noise. Even with just a handful of other diners it was very hard to converse. If we hesitate going back, that will be the reason. Still a little gem with wonderful cuisine.
