A local place out the middle of nowhere, so maybe that's its charm. Prices are OK and the specials (prime rib on Saturday) might also be the draw. Decor is 50s-60s signs and such so there is some character. And the service is friendly. But, considering a half hour drive (for me, anyway), and the fact that the food is good but not extraordinary. I say find a closer place. The menu is varied and there is a salad bar and soft-serve ice cream and baked goods (cookies, etc.) set up for help yourself desserts. And they DO NOT take credit or debit cards, Cash and Checks ONLY.

The friendly bartender talked me into a Big Rick Burger - the fried pickles and half pound of quality beef were delicious! I really like their focus on food and extended hours. The beer was ice cold. Next time I want to taste their pasta. The fries were unique - twisted cut. Will definitely visit again and support this new restaurant.

My wife and I love this place. Across the street from the Ding Ding Cafe. They have excellent fresh ingredients and it is a nice change of pace from all the greasy junk elsewhere. Tough to find but well worth it!

We had a steak sandwich here and it was delicious and at a very reasonable price. My husband is working in this city for the next couple of weeks so I stopped to visit him. I highly recommend this pub for a good sandwich!

After a morning of pheasant hunting in Sauk Center we stopped into ElmerZ for lunch. They have a wide variety of menu items. The fried pickles are surprisingly good and the Tater Tot hot dish served in a bread bowl is outstanding. The one knock would be that the tap beer was flat and tasted off in addition to not having 3 of the 6 possible selections. The service was great. Worth a try.

It was my Birthday and we decided to stop in for lunch at the Palmer House because my daughter had just gotten done with a week at Bible Camp and we picked her up in Long Prairie and Sauk Centre was a fun place and pretty close by. This is a lovely hotel with alot of history. They have a pretty decent sized dining area and bar area and they have really good food. I had a Key West Cubano sandwich with fries and a cup of coffee. My one daughter had their kids mac n cheese, my youngest is lactose intolerant and had kids chicken tenders, My Mom had their Chicken Salad sandwich special and my Aunt had a Chicken Salad with strawberries and blueberries. Everyone left over stuffed and enjoyed our time there. I have been there a couple of times to eat and every time the food has been good. I haven't stayed there yet to comment on that but I know they are a pretty busy place and is a interesting place with alot of history will have to do that maybe sometime. Service is also very good here. I would recommend this as a fun and unique place to stop in for dining if traveling thru Sauk Centre.

Welcome to Ding Dong Cafe Established over 100 years ago, Ding Dong Cafe has been one of Sauk Centre's favorite restaurants for decades. New owner, Manuel Sarmiento, is carrying on the tradition of preparing the best classic and authentic American dishes
I would give this place five stars, except for the fact that they do not accept credit or debit cards and there is a place just outside of town that does a wonderful Saturday brunch, hence my title. However, if you want fresh, excellent breakfast food cooked to order, you can't do better than this anywhere in town.

This is a true truck stop restaurant. Lots of semi's entering and leaving. The food was inexpensive and plentiful, the salad bar was great and contained a number of hot dishes. This could be a meal in itself. We had ordered the Ribeyes and the were cooked to perfection. Great taste and very tender.Service was excellent and prices were very good.

Good food & friendly staff! We always support restaurants that provide locally grown ingredients on their menu, so this was a no brainer!! They also have their own food market! Off the beaten path a bit, but totally worth the adventure out of town!

I have driven past this coffee shop way too many times because i didn't know it was there. What a mistake that was! Yes, you can get a variety of coffee drinks BUT you can also get breakfast or lunch here too!! It is located on Main Street on a corner with either parking on the street or in their parking lot. We were there for coffee and a treat a tad before lunch - all of a sudden the locals came in!! They have a bakery display of eye catching desserts or you can get one of several cookies located on top. May I recommend the rhubarb muffin heated and slathered in butter. Oh, yummy!! The employees are very friendly and helpful in getting you to zero in on exactly what you want. You order what you want - and they deliver it to your table. If you do not stop in here - you are doing yourself a disservice. You will NOT regret it!!
