Reviews on American food in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States. Rapid City has long been considered one of the gateways to the West, and its rich cowboy and Native American heritage is the result. Visitors won't want to miss the area's mammoth outdoor sculptures. There's Mount Rushmore, of course, but work also continues on the nearby Crazy Horse Memorial, which will be the largest sculpture in the world when it is finally completed years down the line. Among the many local attractions are the scenic Black Hills, several nearby cavern systems that offer guided tours and the South Dakota Air and Space Museum.

My wife and I won a gift card to Minervas. The food was excellent and flavorful. The Atmosphere is quite and relaxing. The over all cost was reasonable. If you don't mind spending $40 for a couples night out, this is the place.

We"ve always believed that dining should be a social occasion, a time when friends, family, and coworkers can enjoy great conversation over a great meal. We believe in supporting our local artisans and staying connected to our Black Hills community. At a
Looking for a nice sit down steak house that is a cut above, look no further than Dakota. The service was spot on, the steak was divine (cooked in a broiler), and the crem brûlée was a must have. This is definitely a place to come back again and again.

Had to try a âChuckwagonâ dinner while we were in South Dakota. The grounds have a some interesting movie props, old west exhibits and shops while you are waiting. Diners line up at long picnic tables and then are ushered into the kitchen for a choice of chicken or beef, baked potato, beans and biscuit. Food is ok, but may want a snack beforehand for larger appetites. Music ranges from old cowboy to new country and the band gives a great performance. For the price, there are better options for dining, but the show is the bigger draw. Staff are very friendly but the total experience for us was fine. No alcohol for sale, FYI.

Our first day of visiting family in Rapid City we came to Colonial House for lunch. Arrived near 1:00 and thankful there was no wait. We had the turkey dip w/slaw, fish sandwich w/slaw and club sandwich w/fries. Got plenty of food, the slaw was good & crunchy (to my liking) and the fish sandwich had 3 pieces of cod w/lettuce, tomato and pickles - all very good. Great restaurant and not too noisy so it made our visit easier. Would recommend and return. (if our time allows) Very kind staff in front as I was leaving an employee heard me asking about the local fishery and she helped me look at the maps they supply. Really appreciated her helpful attention - it's refreshing to meet friendly staff members.

The cornerstone of the establishment is a massive coal-fired oven (nearly 10 feet wide) that glows with a combination of dancing gas flames and red-hot coal that will be highly visible both inside and outside of the restaurant. This provides an incredible
I came to Kol on a semi slower Tuesday evening. The building caught my attention right away as the design and modern ambiance was very beautiful. we dined at the bartop, where we discovered we could order food, too. The bartender Akeisha was friendly, welcoming and willing to go above and beyond to make our drinks just how we liked them! The food was excellent as well. I ordered the shrimp tacos as well as the Mediterranean salad, and it was all very great. compliments to the chef and serving staff!

Only negative to complain about was we had to sit at the bar. They were FULL. And it was right in front of the tap beers dispensers. So there was a STRONG smell of beer. (surprise surprise lol) that is not their fault. We could have waited for a table. The waitresses were great and the foot was OUTSTANDING. Definately worth another visit in the futureThank you so much for your great review! Please give us the opportunity to serve you again soon!

Great customer service. The place was crowded in a friendly atmosphere. The menu is very diverse and the food tastes excellent. This steakhouse reminded me and my family âOutback Steakhouseâ. The price is decent. And with that wonderful attention, they sure have my tips. I recommend it.

Established in 2007 and the concept of Pete Franklin, Delmonico Grill brings a jazzy metropolitan feel to our small city. Escape from your busy day with great food, fun atmosphere and good service!
We spent 10 days in Rapid City and were consistently disappointed by the restaurants. Our final disappointment was lunch at Delmonico Grill.Steak tartare was ok. The toast served with it was very tasty. The best part of the meal was my ahi tuna salad with arugula, pepper slices, snap peas and spicy cashews. The tuna was fresh, unlike at the restaurant across the street. However, for $19 I expected more than 5 tiny square pieces. My husband's prime rib sandwich was poor. I would say it was a hot mess, but it was more of a cold mess. He asked for medium rare, and our server said nothing. The small portion of roast beef at the bottom of the sandwich was well done and fatty. On top of the beef were tiny fries and on top of the fries gloppy cheese. The kitchen seemed to be taking a long time to get food out. We had to ask our server for napkins. This place seemed pricey for what we got and a bit full of itself. After lunch, we headed for the airport. No more disappointing meals in Rapid City!

We stopped in for lunch on Thursday...30 minute wait at 1:00! Once we were seaed we were promptly served water and ordered drinks which came out quickly. We ordered lunch and waited...and waited...and waited. When lunch was served it was delicious. We each ordered buffalo burgers. They were cooked as ordered, medium-rare, which seems to be a long lost art. The fries were nice and crispy. All considered we would go back. Just don't plan anything quick.

The first real tap room in Rapid City, an oasis for beer afficianados.
Really enjoyed the delicious cheesy, garlic bread to start. The Cesar salad was enough for 2 to share. Yummy dressing and lots of shaved parmesan on top. The 'Cardiac Arrest' pizza was outstanding: thin and crispy crust with tons of toppings. The server was excellent and suggested a beer that Hubby really enjoyed. I'd love to visit this gem again!
