German Family owned and operated since 1981..serving authentic German Cuisine along with American and Continental dishes.
Can only comment on the traditional German dishes. Had an assortment among our table of four - Sauerbraten, Jaegerschnitzel, regular Wienerschnitzel, and Veal Goulasch - and they were all excellent. Ambiance and decor were great too - almost like being in the home country. Service was very good as well. As they say in the language - "Wunderbar".

Itâs a cold snowy day on Long Island. Itâs the perfect time for some chicken soup and a grilled cheese. I had a comfort lunch at the east bay diner. It hit the spot.

Anchor down is a family owned, Chef inspired seafood restaurant on the beautiful south shore of Long Island.
Disappointed. Small outdoor patio surrounded by a tall fence. Stones throw from the water. Food was ok. My jumbo lump crab cakes were devoid of lump crab meat. Fresh or out of a can? My wifeâs chopped salad with add on chicken breast was ordinary. Chicken was borderline burned. Service was polite. As we discovered, there are other nearby restaurants with a waster view. Trying them in the future.

A dinner special for $22 was filling but, lacking the flavor and quality for which diners were once praised. It was OK. Chopped steak arrived well done but tasted fined. A small baked potato, a scoop of steamed vegetables, a small (very small) salad and a thick pasty cup of pea soup (which was not included) rounded out the meal. Again for the price what does one expect? But, it was completely average. I was most disappointed by the pea soup; I use to think that diners were defined by the quality of their pea soup and if that was the case, I'd never return to this diner! Service was fast and the friendly. What caught me off guard was being charged for a refill on the unsweetened Ice Tea. I was told that the reason for being charged twice was that the Ice Tea was a "Fountain" item that was separate from the dinner price. Its all about making ends meet. Average to Sub-average quality, small portions and pricey drinks sounds like a recipe that will either keep the place open or push customers away. Do yourself a favor, order the breakfasts, at least they are consistent and dependable.

At the suggestion of our daughter we decided to give D.J.âs a go tonite. Weâve been driving buy for some time and this time we went in to sample the food. We both ordered the lobster roll to try on site. In my experience, seafood does not always travel well . We shared and here is our result. The lobster rolls are fairly priced and both included a generous portion of fresh lobster meat. We both favored the hot version but the cold version was very good. I am very impressed that neither was adrift in mayonnaise. These are the healthy version. Certainly, we will return to try other offerings. Tonite, they had soft shell crab, a personal favorite, but we came for the lobster and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shall return!

Restaurant is new; staff is welcoming; flavors are extraordinary and the place is very comfortable. Good spot!
I came for brunch few times. Here are some pros and cons. Pros: great food, excellent hostess, reasonable brunch menu and prices, various seating options, large food portions, full bar. Cons: while the hostess is great (and does a lot of work) the rest of the waiting staff is not nearly as good. In fact their bus boys do a better job than some of their waiters. Weekend Brunch is very busy and things fall in the cracks (unclean tables, stained glasses, overwhelmed waiters). Most of the issues can be fixed by further training the waiting staff on both skills and attitude. The hostess could do the training cause she is always on top of her game.

Found this gem based on TripAdvisor reviews and it did not disappoint. Small little restaurant on Bedford ave in a strip mall. The breakfast menu has alot of different variety of eggs, pancakes, omlettes that you wont find elsewhere. Everything was delicious and made from scratch. The portions were huge and we left stuffed! Prices were not bad and the service was amazing. We will be back!

Quite a few raved about this place. 8 pm on Thursday- packed, but we easily recognized the place is small. More than just burgers. Butternut squash soup very good. Tables are tight. Very noisy, brick walls, tin ceiling. Just ok. Nothing bad. Thanks for your feedback. We hope that you will give us another chance to change your opinion and improve on your last dining experience with us. Looking forward to the opportunity to serve you again soon!Sincerely,The Team at SNAPS
