Best American restaurants nearby. Discover the best American food in Milwaukee. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for American restaurants near you.. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is perhaps best known for its famous breweries and the Major League Brewers, but there's more to the city than beer and baseball. Milwaukee is rich in historical and cultural attractions, making it the perfect place for a weekend of exploring. Check out the newly expanded Milwaukee Art Museum or the Mitchell Park Horticultural Society, which hosts an annual show of the same flora and fauna seen in Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. Those interested in the city's history can visit the grand Pabst Mansion, former home of one of the city's famous beer barons, or the Milwaukee Public Museum, to see what life was like in Old Milwaukee. If the kids are along, don't miss the Milwaukee County Zoo or the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. Of course a trip to the "Genuine American City" would not be complete without a tour of the Miller Brewing Company and a Brewers game at Miller Park.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, isn't a restaurant town like Chicago or New York or New Orleans or San Francisco. If you're staying overnight at the Pfister, Milwaukee's grand dame hotel, you don't have to go farther than its signature restaurant, the Mason Street Grill, to find a good meal. It is a classic American grill serving high quality wood grilled steaks and fresh seafood for lunch and dinner. It also features live music six days a week, an outdoor patio and a chef's counter to observe the action in the bustling kitchen. On our recent visit, my wife and I started with shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, seafood gumbo and Caesar salad. For an entree, my wife chose pan seared salmon with roasted broccoli while I opted for a 12-ounce New York strip steak with sauteed onions, creamed corn and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert, we shared a large slice of Weber's carrot cake with vanilla cream cheese frosting. If there's a better and more satisfying meal to be had in Milwaukee, tell me about it.

Oscar's Pub & Grill prides themselves on their family friendly environment, great affordable food, classiness, cleanliness and welcoming wait staff. The pub features the best new burgers in town and delicious homemade fries.
When in Milwaukee, Go to Oscar's for the Most Delicious Burger in Town. Don't let the neighborhood or the outside keep you away. It's a few blocks from PotowatomiCasino and Marquette University. Once there, the staff will treat you well. You will walk out of Oscar's full and happy! Order drinks, they never rush you out. Order an appetizer. I will suggest the Nacho's as that is a meal in itself. Then order one of the Burgers. The Gringo, The Big O, or design your own! They are made to order and are 8oz of Deliciousness. We order an extra party for each of our Service Animals that love Oscar's too. I forgot to mention that the prices are very reasonable. On most days Oscar will be there, working hand in hand with the staff to make sure everything is Perfect.

We were woundering where all the people from Millwaukee gather in a weekend. As we mostly saw quiet streets in the city center. Well this beer hall could be one the places. And we understand why:- very nice and helpful staff. Truly commited to this brewery project,- great food (had the fish tacos and the saudages and both were delicious)- amazing beer! Would love to find all these beers back in Portugal...Great place to spend a morning or afternoon!

Milwaukee has come intoits own. With world-class architecture, a buoyant lakefront, superb art museum and ever-growing fine dining scene. Which is about to become even finer.Enjoy our legendarydry aged steaks, chops and fresh seafood. 5,000 or so award wi
Wonderful classic steak house with excellent service. Our waiter, Tony was new but took great care of us. He was knowledgeable about the menu selections and gave us useful suggestions on what to order. Service was quick and efficient but not rushed. Food was presented nicely and was prepared perfectly. Sides are to be shared so be aware that portions are huge. I had the filet special and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I loved the creamed spinach! Assistance with wine selection was available both on iPad and printed form plus we had wonderful, personal advice from the manager who stood in for a sommelier and was very familiar with their wine selection. It was a lovely evening with good service, good food, wine and atmosphere. Great restaurant to enjoy when out of town.

We are located in the historic Mackie Building in downtown Milwaukee. Come visit us for great food, fine spirits, good people and the history of the buildings architecture, as well as the famous "Grain Exchange" located upstairs.
Really cool bar / restaurant in Milwaukee city centre. Dropped in for some food and drinks. Cool interior, very cosy vibe to the place, nice crowd and great staff. Ended up having a burger, fries and few pints, all delicious. Just an all round nice place with a good vibe to it. Well worth dropping in if you're nearby.

Milwaukee Public Market.
AWESOME destination for seafood lovers! The Oyster Shooters were definitely the highlight of our Friday night experience and we had never even heard of calamari steak! Time your visit carefully. You want to be early enough to beat the dinner rush, but keep in mind that it closes at 8:00pm. The staff certainly hustles to accommodate all the hungry guests. It has all the energy of downtown street side dining, while indoors. The margaritas were weak compared to others sold in the Public Market and too sour for my taste. We plan on ordering their signature Bloody Marys next visit. The prices and portions were EXCELLENT.

BOTTLE: A wine shop with interesting and hard-to-find wines, growlers of draft beer to go, and regional and artisanal liquors. An restaurant and bar with an award-winning wine list with unbeatable prices. Kitchen: A unique restaurant cooking food inspired
We enjoyed the food and specialty cocktails. They were well prepared and in many cases unique to Story Hill BKC. I would have given this review 5* but for the prices. We travel all over the US and Europe, the prices frankly were very high for the quantity of food on the "small plates". Much as I enjoyed it, I won't make the personal choice to go there again. We're very sorry to hear our unique and well-prepared food and cocktails did not represent a great value. We'd like to know more about what you had, so that we can make sure we can make sure our menu always presents a good value for the quality, and we'd like to invite you back to Story Hill BKC. My wife and I have dined here about 10 times now, sometimes with guests we have brought along, more often just the two of us. We have always been very favorably impressed with the superior quality of the ambience, the service, and of course the food. As for ambience, the single dining room is small and well appointed. The building looks like Old Milwaukee on the outside, but inside the restaurant looks like L.A. I personally hate loud dining rooms, and have never had a problem with the noise level here. There is an overall atmosphere of efficient professionalism throughout the place. The staff are all well trained, friendly and knowledgeable. The wait staff know all the details about the menuâs choices. The food is wonderful. We will keep coming back for sure.

We had a great experience because of all the great recommendations from our server Tina! Our drinks were fantastic, I had the Stella Old fashioned-it was nice and sweet. Second I had the Fig cocktail-also delicious and less sweet. The scallop app was so full of flavor. The Burrata bruschetta has a hint of sweet and was great to share with a good of four. Everyone enjoyed their entrees: Waygu beef, lamb pasta, shrimp spaghetti and Mediterranean fish. No time for dessert, we had to get to the Celine Dion concert. Canât wait to go back!
