Ashley's Taste of Home is a new place in Martinsville. It specializes in home style country cooking. Each day they have daily specials, but get there early, when they're gone, they're gone. The specials are things such as chicken and dumplings or turkey and dressing. They have salads, sandwiches and hamburgers and hot dogs. The sides are really good, Cole Slaw, green beans and the like. I had an excellent pimento cheese sandwich with green beans and Cole Slaw. My wife had a chicken salad croissant. Good desserts like cobbler and pies. I had a super slice of key lime pie. Wash everything down with a glass of good ol' sweet tea.
Subway is one of my favs. Good and fresh veggies and sub rolls. This location provides easy access and parking. Exxon station next door - bright and clean environment. Food stations clean and sparkling. Steady traffic but fast service always. The BLT is my all time favorite and peanut butter cookie for dessert! Yum!
Best sandwiches I have ever had. They also have great customer service and great atmosphere. They serve breakfast and lunch. And have daily specials. They are open Monday thru Saturday and serve waffles, blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, fries apple pies and much more... they also serve sandwiches, boars head meats and cheeses by the pound, and have cakes, pies, cupcakes, brownies, peanut butter bars, smoothies, lattes, hot chocolate, fraps, chai, etc. they are the best bakery cafe in town. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to who ever would want to eat great food. Ps. They also offer car hop service and have occasional cruise-ins.

Took the Grandkids to someplace different for lunch as they usually eat at McDonalds. They enjoyed eating there for a while but indicated the next time they want to go to McDonalds.

Just ate at the Sirloin House with three colleagues. They were happy with their meals, mine was a disaster. The filet mignon came wrapped in bacon which I donât eat. The menu did not say it came wrapped in bacon. Although the waitress offered me something else she had a bad attitude. My next entree came burnt. We asked for separate bills. She put them on 2 checks and the person upfront had a hard time separating them. Bad experience all around. They need some serious cultural competency training! Not everyone eats pork. Donât go there!

An escape from the typical restaurant -- A cozy home-like atmosphere with personalized service and hand-prepared food to order. We use fresh produce when possible. Our desserts are made from family recipes. Fine dining with a comfortable, friendly atmosph
We visited Martinsville for a family wedding and had supper at Third Bay Cafe. We started with the crab cakes which were outstanding and we are from the seafood capital; Boston. I liked the spicy dipping sauce. I had the the shrimp and grits, and mom had the salmon. We also had the filet and hamburger; all were delicious. If bread pudding is on the menu; it is a must have. My husband still talks about it and traveling back to order another dish. We met the owners and they were super sweet and inviting. If you are in the area, make sure you stop by! You won't be disappointed!!!!

People find this restaurant that you cannot see from the street...Nice find...We were with a group of people traveling on a trip. Wild Magnolia had plenty of seating for our party. Our service was very good; the owner came out to check on us. It was hamburger special day, but many people tried a variety of things. They have a bar and plenty of parking. Nice lunch!

In town for the NASCAR race at Martinsville. I like to find local places to eat and I am particularly fond of BBQ, so I couldn't resist Pigs R Us (aka The Checkered Pig).I ordered the two meat platter with pork and brisket. I was skeptical about brisket, because usually East coast BBQ places are not real good with brisket.Well this place is!! Some of the BEST brisket I've had since I was in Kansas City. The platter came with French Fries and really good hush puppies. A wide variety of sides are available. I chose Baked Beans and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was a bit nondescript for me. Probably wouldn't order it again. The baked beans were good, but they tasted a lot like canned baked beans. However, the brisket and pork more than made up for the sides. It was EXCELLENT!!Kelli was my server and she did a great job explaining the four sauces on the table.Give it a try. EXCELLENT BBQ
