You must be a clown if you are reading this review. (Ronald?). True it is consistent mediocrity design to line the pockets of McMillionaires while offering little by way of nutrition. But if you are looking to gain a dress size or two the super-sized Big Mac with a shake is perfect.
I used to eat Church's chicken all the time, and with all the fast food chicken competition in recent years have almost stopped going to Church's. But this location along I-45 has a 'billboard special' -- if you notice it along the freeway they'll sell you a 2-piece dark for a pretty good price. Trouble is, as I have stopped here 3-4 times over the recent years driving up and down this highway, the regular dark meat fried chicken pieces never taste quite right. Their strips / tenders are okay, and the biscuits are great, but after every time of deciding 'I'll do the cheap special' I end up thinking that's just never going to be a good option.
This is one of the few fast food restaurants where I can say I've never had an issue. The store is always very clean. The staff are super friendly. The food is always good. Today I noticed that they had a new sandwich that used a Gouda cheese spread. Since I've never eaten Gouda before, I asked for a sample to try. The lady was very nice and gave me a little. It was quite good so I tried the Gouda Club. Have been there many times and will go there again in the future.
I've been burned a few times by bakeries in the area. Either the items were overpriced or just plain nasty. King's actually was a huge surprise. The food matches the cost, and both are very reasonable. The staff aren't overly friendly, but they are nice. They have a selection: donuts, sausage rolls, croissants. They also fill your donut when you order with one of three choices.

We were on the way home from Houston and just wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and home cooking sounded good. This is just off I-45 on the southbound side. It is nestled across from Buckee's.When we entered, it was obviously a place some locals frequent, so we thought that was a good sign. I suspect now, that it is just because there are not a lot of choices in the area.We opted for the buffet. This included a decent salad bar and a hot table of home cooked items. This included: chicken fried steak, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and collard greens.I opted for the chicken fried steak and my wife went for the chicken. The veggies were really good and the chicken was pretty good. However, the chicken fried steak was the most bland meat I have ever had. It was fried well, but there just was not any flavor even with gravy. However, the buffet and salad bar was only $9.95 plus drink, so don't expect a ribeye steak! The service was ok, but they seemed rushed and a little frantic as the after church crown started to appear.Next time, I will hit a different place. Once was enough for me.

Walkers is a locally owned and operated restaurant in downtown Madisonville where all the locals go! On Friday night it is all you can eat shrimp with all the fixings! The service is great and the people are very friendly! Their shrimp is great but the homemade ranch dressing on the salad bar is the best! Plus you get free Blue Bell ice cream with your meal! Sometimes if your lucky the have a live musician and singer! Go see Angela and Noella and tell them Jack and Jackie sent you!

We are a family-owned and operated restaurant, located on the courthouse square in Madisonville, TX. We look forward to you dining with us.
While on a road trip with our two kids (7 and 4) we stopped here for lunch. My husband ordered crab cakes, my kids shared a grilled cheese sandwich and I had the strawberry salad with grilled chicken. We all loved our food! I don't get excited by dressings and vinaigrettes very easily, and I loved the one that came with this salad. It was home-made. Great food, friendly staff! Apparently, the chef/owner used to be at a popular place in Galveston. It's definitely worth a stop when you are in the area around a meal time!Monique, We appreciate the kind words. The Strawberry Vinaigrette is made fresh in house as is almost the entire menu. I hope you enjoyed your time in Galveston. Safe travels to you and your family.

Bucees has a good business model. You pass through a fantastic food bar and curio shop to get to the restrooms. Restrooms are indeed the best at any gas station in Texas.
