This was our first visit to Scale House, located on route 414 on the east side of Seneca Lake, about 10 minutes from Watkins Glen. Nice atmosphere inside, decent choice of beers and a small food menu. We were there for lunch, so we only had pizza and beer. The pizza was very good, I recommend it. The beers were good, service was great. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. I would definitely return for lunch and try something different.

At the Stonecat, it is our belief that food is life. We feel that what people eat is the biggest mark of their culture and a reflection of how they feel about life. We like life in Hector and enjoy waking people up to vibrant, fun food that is grown organ
We recently went to the Stonecat Cafe on a recommendation from a local winery we visited. We couldnât have been more pleased. The food was truly Farm to table and wonderful. I had the Halibut special and my wife had the Duck special. Cooked to perfection and tasted great. The service was top notch and the ambiance on the porch made it a very special evening indeed. We had a gorgeous sunset the night we visited.

Stopped here while touring the wine trail. Had a wonderful lunch. Don't let the rear entrance of the building scare you away. The front features a wonderful porch and dining area overlooking Cayuga Lake. The market is warm and inviting. Food was delicious, homemade, and of excellent quality. Great spot for lunch and many brews on tap. Lots of delicious baked goods, soups, and salads as well. A real gem!

We try to make it to the Cider House a few times a year. They always have something special gong on from cider events to special menus, to music. And all the food and cider are local. You can taste the love! This time we had Cheese and Charcuterie plates and a farm salad. They offer several meats and cheeses. You decide which you want to have. The farm salad was a chopped salad with cabbage, other vegetables, nuts and a yummy dressing. It was big enough to share with the plates. We had ginger beer and a switchel. Both are great non alcholic offering. Don't pass them by! They offer free parking right next to the building and a small shop where you can stock-up on their wonderful products and some local cheeses.

While we were visiting wineries in the region we happened upon Thirsty Owl Wine Co. We decided to have lunch in the bistro. There was lovely covered patio seating with nice views of the water. We opted for a turkey Panini and a ham and cheese Panini. They were both very tasty. I got a small salad along with my sandwich and the Riesling dressing (made on site) was so good! We tried the Cabernet Sauvignon and another red wine that was a mix of Malbec, Syrah and Cab. Franc. Both were very good. We could have stayed all afternoon - it was just so nice & relaxing.

I'd not had liver and onions in years. This was a nightly special: calf's liver! With onions, mashed potatoes & gravy, and bacon (if you eat that). Tender and full of flavor, it was so good I mopped up the remaining gravy with a slice of bread! This place has been a staple over the years. Friday Fish Fry was my favorite. Highly recommend this place!

5* lake view from huge covered terrace3* food; the food is not gourmet, but the ingredients are fresh and the food is good enoughFor lunch, I ordered the salad that came with cheddar cheese, walnuts and sweet sliced apples. The Riesling dressing went well with the salad.I paired the salad with their ice wine since I like sweeter wines, but I think that was a mistake. I didn't love the ice wine, and I noticed later while walking through their wine shop that the recommended wine to be paired with the salad, the semi-dry Riesling, might be a higher rated wine.
