I stopped in here for a quick breakfast and was pleased with the fast and friendly service. My order of sausage gravy on biscuits and hot coffee was great. The gravy was hot and tasty. The coffee was flavorfull. It was nice to hear friendly conversation from a group of retired gentlemen who clearly met together regularly at this establishment.

Stopped by for a fundraiser and tried the wings & fries. They were out of this world! I received 11 wings and Pile of awesome fries all for under 11bucks! Really they over feed you at this place and everyone there are personal and attentive! Give it a try you won't be disappointed! Definitely a family friendly place.

Has the surf and turf dinner. It exceeded my expectations! I'm on a special diet and the watestaff suggested I add the grilled zucchini for a small upcharge! I was thrilled to death!Thank you for making my dining experience excellent. The only only thing I noted was the shortage of glassware and cutlery. I'm sure the owner is aware!

Had lunch there today. The egg rolls were cold. The Mongolian pork was cold. The black pepper chicken was cold. The greens they called collards was mustards. I was very dissatisfied. To boot it cost us $23 for lunch. I don't think I will be back.

This is a family owned cafe that offers fresh, homemade soup, salad, sandwiches and deserts. It has been in Live Oak for 11 years and has a spotless reputation for great food, served fast, fresh and by friendly folks. The atmosphere is casual, homespun and immaculate. Tell Tina and Mark that Bill sent you.

Fried Green Tomatoes were drenched in oil. Only managed to eat one. Vegetable Beef soup had no taste to it. The beef was too dry & chewy to eat, the vegetables were out of a can & potatoes were mush. Salad bar was a joke. Only had iceberg lettuce & about 8 other items. Chicken Fried Steak was huge a lot of breading & not sure what the meat was but lots of fat & very chewy. Mashed potatoes were ok. Mac & cheese was ok... $27.07 for a yucky lunch.... we will NOT be back. Oh the ice tea was good.

Last week I had time to kill and a hungry belly. Both were fill to capacity. Great food. Clean dining. Great service. I had the popcorn shrimp dinner and was thoroughly satisfied with taste and size of serving. A few draft beers and the dinner was complete. I definitely want to tell everyone that Brown Lantern restaurant is worth the trip!!!

I was a guest of friends to dine at this quaint little restaurant. The food and atmosphere are very nice. Food is tasty and of good quality and good portions. Wine and drink list available, while wines are good, would recommend some nicer choices to go with the great food. Service could use improvement. Server wreaked of cigarettes after missing for a few minutes. Pricing was an issue. The sign out front stated a prime rib special for $18, prime rib and 2 sides. However when I got the bill it was $19. Pointed this out to the server and she stated oh the sign is wrong...and she will go change the sign. I realize a $1 is not an issue, but the principal of the matter is. The check should have been changed and the then the sign. If you advertise something for a price you sell it for that price...you don't change the price in the middle of a transaction. Needless to say her gratuity reflected her choice..Perhaps an additional $1 can come from her error. Having been in the business for over 40 years, feel this was handled quite poorly. Otherwise would highly recommend for other attributes of the place.

We like to eat local and found Big Wood thanks to Ms Google while traveling on I-10. Big Wood did not disappoint. Service was friendly and helpful. Everyone was talkative and welcoming. Our server even supplied a hot coffee to go for my husband as we ventured back out into the rain. I relied on the recommendations of our server and chose baby back ribs with a side of baked beans and baked potato. My husband got the sliced beef with beans and baked sweet potato. Everything I had was wonderful. I loved the sweet sauce and the golden sauce that did not have a strong mustard taste. My husband did not care for his beef although our server warned him that the beef was different from brisket. In fact, it was eye of round roast sliced thin. Not my cup of tea, but we were told most people like it. My husband was not one of those. We liked the beans so much, we took some home with us. The alcoholic drink menu had interesting drinks, including some made with moonshine of the legal kind. This will be a definite stop the next time we are on I-10 as it's definitely worth the mile and a half detour from the highway.

These folks know quality food. Fresh Florida fish. No frozen Swami or Tilapia here. Had smoked tuna spread for starter. Very nice. Garden salads for all three diners. Absolutely fresh and perfect, not a discolored leaf to be seen. Homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing all around which was perfect. Three entrees were cobia, mahi and sunshine chic breast. Makes me hungry just writing this! Big pours on the wine. Yummy corn bread served with entrée. Richard helped us table side with brother Brian doing the chef work. Great job guys!
