When you walk into Gather, you walk into our home. With our friendly and knowledgeable staff, open kitchen design, and approachable wine list, we've created an atmosphere perfect for celebrating every day.
Exemplary restaurant, in every sense of the word! The service and ambiance are wonderful, and the food is unparalleled. Gather's manager Emily, is amazing! She orchestrates all the details, with her assistant manager Erin, and ensures that all of the diners are seated, comfortable, and happy. Chef Ken has distinctive, life-changing creations; each dish is prepared with the absolute freshest ingredients and with the utmost care. I don't dine out often, but I could go to Gather for every night on the town - it is truly outstanding!

We've had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Lucky Platter, but mostly breakfast. It's a local neighborhood restaurant with a casual atmosphere. Welcoming for everyone. We've seen young families, couples, local politicians having business meetings, etc. Wouldn't necessarily go out of my way just to eat here, but it's less than a block from the Main Street stations for the CTA Purple Line and Union Pacific North Line. Great place to stop for a bite if shopping at the many independently owned stores in the Main Street/Chicago Ave. area -- Vogue Fabrics, Cultivate Urban Garden, Good's Framing, Dave's Rock Shop, Guitar Works, Plain and Simple, Belgian Chocolatier, 10,000 Villages, etc.

We've eaten at a number of Stefani restaurants around town to look forward to this one. And the location certainly helps. Some of our experience turned out to be outstanding, but some was decidedly not.We were a couple of minutes early for our reservation. The folks at the host stand couldn't have been more gracious. During the time we were waiting for out table to be ready, a number of folks checked with us to make sure we were okay. We felt very welcomed. Our initial service was prompt. The server clearly knew the menu, although he wasn't as definitive as he might have been about recommending choices. My wife had a special lobster bisque that wasn't very special. I had a beet and burrata salad that was outstanding. We then had complementary salads that were drowning in dressing. Our main courses were a mixed bag. My wife had ordered a Kansas City strip and they brought a New York strip. She didn't want to wait for a redo, and the steak was good, if a tiny bit overdone. I had veal piccatta, which was well made, but drowning in sauce (seems to be a theme). It was accompanied by some perfectly prepared fettucine that would entice me to return for pasta.Overall, I'm glad we tried the place. But it's definitely going to be a once in a while place rather than a regular stop for us. Too bad, because the potential is there.

Peckish, a British term for "hungry". The Pig, a gastro pub, opened in March 2014 and has helped to start a revitalization of Howard St which forms the north Chicago & south Evanston city limits.I had a couple of their ales on a previous visit but this was my first meal. I selected that nights grilled salmon dish which was perfect. I do not recall what my friends dish was but she did enjoy it.We dined on a Thursday and selected the patio to enjoy the pleasant evening. Its enclosed on all sides by surrounding buildings. Only a few tables were occupied. A nice location for a date night. The staff was courteous & provided very good service. We both enjoyed the night and look forward to another visit.

Alexander's isn't big, but it packs a punch in terms of delicious breakfast fare. There are the usual suspects but also some distinctive combinations of things, and all of it is homemade. The daily specials are always intriguing and everything is fresh. We have eaten there multiple times and the service is always fast and friendly.

Not very large or fancy but has great breakfast items most made with fresh fruit and plated beautifully. Had the french toast that was creme brulee, topped with assorted fresh berries. My wife had the omelet with ham, cheese , bacon and served with hashbrowns and toast, again basic but a winner, Not overdone, or greasy. Not cheap but delicious our breakfast with coffee was $35 they had a bakery next door but recently had a fire, and they are in the process of reopening

Maurice and Flaurie Berman, the co-founders of Superdawg Drive-In at 6363 North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, at the corner of Milwaukee, Devon and Nagle, are gone. But the legendary, iconic, one-of-a-kind hot dog stand they founded in 1948, with car hop service, a Chicago-style hot dog like no other and the traditional figures on the roof are still there. My wife and I have been making periodic trips to Superdawg since we got married in the 1970s. But friends have been loyal customers since the 1950s. A trip to Superdawg recalls memories of the 1950s, when drive-ins and car hops were so popular, when you drove your father's car for the first time and took a date along. We recently drove up North Milwaukee Avenue to get our monthly Superdawg fix. Superdawg isn't a weiner or frankfurter or red hot. It's a slab of juicy pure beef that is bigger than any other hot dog, no pork or veal or cereal or filler of any kind, with all the trimmings--mustard, piccalilli, Kosher dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions and hot peppers on a poppy seed bun. With an order of Super Fries. And wash it all down with a chocolate milk shake and large mug of root beer. Eating in your car never tasted so good.

We eat at deli's across the country. I was so disappointed by the service that it took away from the food. The restauant was filled with employees but had no other customers while we were there. Nevertheless ordering was pure chaos. Our order-taker couldn't remember that she had taken our order and then she got offended when we spoke with someone else. It took quite a bit of time between ordering and getting our food. Plus I think it's really strange to have a deli without serving hot matzo ball soup. the sandwiches were good. The desserts looked good. They also did not have lox eggs onion.they should take a trip to Kenny and Ziggy's in Houston and see how a good deli is run. Kaufman's has the opportunity to create a great deli if they had a good mentor.

As a Frequent Diner member, was somewhat shocked at the way the late afternoon meal unfolded. Arrived around 3:40PM, and asked for the dinner menu. Was seated in the bar area, where the only server doubled as the bartender, and NO busboy help, as it got busier (even though the server tried her hardest) things just went south from there. Had a 6 piece shrimp cocktail, which was excellent, soups were luke warm, but could not get attention of the server to correct the problem because she then became very busy with bar patrons and other tables.....all they while the manager with another employee stood at the front talking.....not paying attention to what going on. Had ask for bread and butter.....it finally arrived a loaf of onion bread that my wife could not eat......finally asked server if there was another type of bread available....she said no, so I asked to pay for a piece of the corn bread that went along with the brisket.....she said fine. 5 minutes later, the manager that was doing nothing came to the table and said he was sorry, they only had enough corn bread for the brisket special that day. I then expressed my concern about the lack of people working.....he said "sorry" and walked away. There was dirty dishes from the shrimp and soup laying on the table, but I guess he felt that was not has job to remove them....a pathetic attitude for a Melman restaurant manager. All the entries were finally served.....with my wife's Filet being excellent. But at 32.95 with only a side of fries....pretty pricey.....Wildfire offers 2 sides along with excellent service no matter what time you go to the restaurant. Obviously somebody (besides the current management staff at Woods) needs to address the staffing problems during ALL time periods. Spent $168 for a disrupted dinner.....won't be back for awhile.
