Find out what American restaurants to try in Lake George. When people find a great vacation getaway, they keep coming back. This 32-mile-long "Queen of American Lakes" is chock-full of lodging, attractions, eateries and just about any form of recreation you can name. A significant player in American history, Lake George is the site of two great forts, Fort William Henry and Fort Ticonderoga, both open to the public. Before plunging into the myriad activities in this family-friendly town, start off with a relaxing lake cruise to learn about the area. Then, take your pick of recreation: parasailing, fishing, diving, jet skiing, hiking, golfing, minigolf, horseback riding and more. If you've got kids in tow, you can't get away without visiting the Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom, New York's largest amusement park. Hikers gravitate to the international trail system or Prospect Mountain, which offers panoramic views from the top; for an easier way up, hop on the tram. Among the cleanest and clearest of major U.S. lakes, Lake George is as splendid today as when Thomas Jefferson described it as "...without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw."

We were staying at the Inn and had dinner there. I ordered the pork chop and my husband had the duck. The presentation was beautiful, service was spot on and the food was delicious. We had creme brûlée for dessert. Everything was perfect. Thank you for sharing your experience with us at the restaurant at The Inn at Erlowest. Chef Dmitriy and the culinary team are getting rave reviews for the creativity with the seasonal accompaniments. Great coffee and food...if it ever comes out. If you want to spend half the day in here, get food otherwise get your coffee to go and get out. Wait staff never checks in and there is an abundance of them. Not enough kitchen staff.

We were passing through and saw this restaurant that looked interesting tucked in the back of a parking lot shared with outlet stores. It decor is rustic, homey and family oriented. Every sandwich and entree item on the lunch menu included a trip to the salad bar - something we love. The pewter plates for salad are chilled. I had a great Adirondack French Dip and my wife had a special honey ham sandwich with havrati cheese on a baguette. The ambiance, the food and the service were all wonderful. We recommend the Log Jam to all.

Enjoyed a lovely birthday meal here, great choice of food even for my daughter who is a vegan. Equally the food was very tasty for meat eaters and the portion sizes were large. Service and booking was great too. Would definitely recommend.

Favorite spot of both locals and tourists, so there is usually a wait...but it's worth it! Delicious food, just the right serving portions and the price is right. Off Lake shore Drive, only "issue" might be parking, lot is tight, so get there early?

The Hampton Inn had recommended this steakhouse as it is one of the few truly accessible restaurants in the Lake George area. Most other restaurants have stairs and cannot be accessed by wheelchair. This place is busy, so reservations are necessary. Guests were line-up outside the front door throughout our entire meal. Every table was full and as one table was cleared another group were seated. Once in, seating was quick and very accommodating. Our wheelchair was stored near the front door and was watched over by the host who seemed to be the owner. Our server was friendly and very attentive. We ordered wine and were served fresh warm breads also. We ordered a large rib-eye steak and prime rib, not realizing that the portions would be so huge. The steaks were grilled to perfection and delicious. My wife had the béarnaise style sauce with mushroom and it too was mouth-watering. Regrettably, neither of us could eat our entire meals and since we were in a hotel, we did not take anything back with us. If venturing to this area again, we would surly visit the Caldwell House, just order a smaller portion.

We hosted our son's wedding rehearsal dinner on the Mohican as we cruised Lake George. Great experience all around. Toni in the office was extremely accommodating and worked with us long distance to plan the event. She was also very accommodating when we arrived and stored some items for the dinner and had them set up prior to the cruise. The manager on board and the staff were also excellent as was the food. Everyone enjoyed it and the perfect weather only added to the experience and views.

An impromptu stop culminated in an amazing dinner experience. Crafty drink menu with many flavored vodkas, a starter small salad of beets and goat cheese, although my husband had a poached pear stuffed with marscapone, a bit sweet but delicious! We decided to go with full dinner options, who doesnât love leftovers? Chimichurri beef tips for me and the short tips for the hubby. Simply amazing. Both dishes were tender, full flavored and the portions were plentiful. Itâs a must return! Adds another great dinner choice in the Adirondacks!
