Bagel Chalet are the experts when it comes to fresh bagels in Commack. For delicious bagels, fresh wraps and salads- come explore Bagel Chalet!
....this place is the #1 rated restaurant in Commack. Fresh grub, and efficient, friendly service. Weekends can be super busy, so be prepared to wait on line for 5-10 minutes before your order is taken. Best Chopped Salads around. It's the only place I will order Whitefish and Lox, because it's fresh and has not been sitting around in the display case. As others have commented, it can be a little pricey, but it is worth it.

Met a friend for lunch today at "Javier's Café". The food was fabulous!! I couldn't find anything on the menu I didn't like!! Finally decided on the "Ovengold Turkey Sandwich", with a side of French Fries. They offer both Breakfast and Lunch from 6am through 3pm, the hours they are open, so if you want French Toast, eggs, or pancakes for lunch, this is your place!! The service was friendly, and efficient. The restaurant is small in size, and was full at the time we were there, so it does have a tendency to be somewhat noisy. Parking is easy, as there is ample parking in the rear of the restaurant, and an entrance from the parking lot, as well. I will definitely be going back soon, and I recommend it highly to others!!

Having been here before, I was expecting an enjoyable experience when I was invited to join friends for a pre-Easter supper. From the warm welcome upon arriving and throughout the evening the attentive, professional wait staff was part of the pleasant nautical ambiance. The menu is broad in scope....From the delicious steak, scrumptious crab cakes, over the top popovers, warm goat cheese salad and tender asparagus everyone was totally satisfied with their choices. Weather appropriate, there is an outside area with several fire pits that would be perfect to add to the overall experience.Everything is al la carte.Another enjoyable evening at a relaxed pace. You'll be happy you came hungry.

Pleasant wait staff - food is good and inexpensive - a good alternative to Relish, although food here is nowhere near the quality of Relish. Nor is it as expensive as Relish....Seems like Gino's has taken away business from here - but it's mucho $$ compared to Professors. But it's a diner - order burgers, fries, and a soft drink and you'll be fine.Owner can be a bit on the loud side at times, but just stand up and tell him to shut the F up, and he should take the cue. Hopefully

Nice place to meet some friends for a drink. There are small tables by the bar to enjoy a meal as well. We usually sit there and split a meal as it's more than enough for two. The drinks are tasty and the service is very good. Will definatly go back another day.

What a find! only open for breakfast and lunch, this "cow themed" local favorite is incredible. Family managed, outstanding quality and service, large portions, and gourmet touches throughout the menu, presents the best of the old diner days and today's high quality standards. Whatever can be homemade is and the efficiency is really something to observe. You need some time to enjoy this busy spot and there's enough interesting things to notice while you wait. Even a motorcycle decorated in cow patterns. Couldn't believe our first visit, had to buy a couple of Maureen's cow coffee mugs, and then brought some grandkids a few days later. Come hungry and better bring cash - no credit cards here.

Cafe Red is 'our' restaurant, and as such, we have an interest in its continued success. This is the reason I will critique our most recent experience there, which is unfortunately, becoming something of a trend. Our appetizers, prosciutto with asparagus, and crabcake, were predictably delicious. We had ordered Napa Chardonnay to go with these and our entrees, bronzino and seared scallops.Again, the food was just fine, and the presentation inviting. But the wine...The wine, described as a 2017 chardonnay from Napa, was good, but not as billed. The wine, after a few sips, warranted study of the label, as something was just not right. Though there was nothing 'wrong' with it, it was not performing as a Napa chardonnay should, especially with the more complex flavors with the dishes.Lo and behold, study of the label revealed that it was a simple "California" designated chardonnay, and little, if any, of the fruit came from Napa.Since the wine was 'good' why bother with this critique? Well, for starters, the wine cost $36, perhaps a fair restaurant price for a decent Napa Chard, but NOT for a generic chardonnay. Moreover, the general attitude toward wine at Cafe Red has gone from thoughtful, to indifferent, to simply nefarious. Why not let the kitchen go to pot as well? When the wine list becomes silly, the food is sure to follow. This eventuality would be a most sad outcome for Cafe Red, Kings Park's finest eatery, which also draws from adjacent towns. This nonsense of lackadaisical wine service has got to stop, or Cafe Red will disappear into history, and a memory of once was. That would be a sorry state of affairs to the people of Kings Park and greater Suffolk County.

Stopped in at about 2PM the place was crowded and had to wait a few minutes. Dacor nothing to write home about but very clean. Went for their special breakfast burrito. IT was unbievably good. Just the right combination of egg short rib, peppers, onions and cheese with a spicy sauce on top. Wonderful! The people next to me had the lobster roll which was packed with lobster. I will definitely be back to try other items!!
