We are located in Monticello and this is our restaurant of choice. By cruiser, it's close to an hour so we take our friends. Always order the Mahi bites and they are consistently great, this time tried Crab Boppers, yum highly recommend both appetizers. Our waiter Anthony was efficient with our table of eight, did not have to ask for him, great server!!
The Springs Diner is a local family owned diner with great home cooked food.I had the fish fry with hushpuppies and my boyfriend had the pinto beans with cornbread. Both were very good. The pinto beans came with corn cakes instead of the corn bread we are used to but they were very good. We both had a piece of peanut butter pie for desert and it was delicious. The prices are very good and we got good portions. They don't accept credit cards at this time but are hoping to add that option in the future. They used to be a smoking facility but they recently went to non-smoking. I was very happy with this, but I heard some of the locals complaining. After dining you can walk along the main street and shop at several flea market type shops

We have been proudly serving our customers since 1972. We offer a variety of seafood, steaks, and ham. Our specialty however is our catfish. Stop by and visit us, we look foward to serving you.
I had been coming here with my family since I was a child. I moved out of state twenty years ago but every time I came to visit we would drive the 30 minutes to Coe's. However many years ago my family let me know that the fish had changed and that after trying four times they gave up on going. I was so disappointed. Well since it had been so long, I decided to read the reviews and since they were positive they tried it out before my visit. Guess what... the fish was good, almost as good as before! So a week later we go back and I was so happy. The catfish was great, just as I remembered! The service was wonderful as well. My sister-in-law ordered the open-faced pot roast and was terrible disappointed, but five of us got the catfish and we were all very happy with our meals. So long story short, if you like catfish you will love Coe's.

Drove in on boat food was good bartender pleasant and alcohol was cold, beautiful view clean well kept enjoyed this place marina also beautiful well kept
Kudos to the owners for keeping this amazing building as close to original as possible. Beautiful backroads and views. The food was DELICIOUS - we had a party of four and all ordered something different, everyone loved it. They offer speciality cheesecake for dessert but we were stuffed. Fun & different place to visit - located in what once was a bustling river community in the 19th century.
We visited in season for breakfast. Clean with good water level view of houseboats, etc. Service was reasonable and food service was fast. It was a good breakfast. They offer a VERY large menu which suggests a large freezer. Access requires steps and walking. Parking is not convenient, but then this is a marina. Located off a rather large "boat store" and gift shop it is open during peak season. Very convenient for a captive audience, but don't go out of your way for the food.

This restaurant was a real disappointment from start to finish! We were seated quickly (no wait!) at peak dinner time, right in front of the huge picture windows looking out over picturesque Lake Cumberland. I usually don't focus on service, but in this case, it's warranted. THE FOOD - We ordered two appetizers. The fried green tomatoes were nothing special, served with a delicious, spicy dipping sauce. They tasted okay, but the tomatoes didn't survive cooking - they were a sloppy mess inside. The chicken quesadillas were spectacular - big juicy pieces of chicken and lots of cheese between crispy tortilla. Portion size was small for $9. We also ordered a reuben and club. Both were served on perfectly grilled bread, assembled nicely with fresh ingredients, but the meat was of pretty low quality on both sandwiches. The menu stated that all sandwiches are served with fries, but my husband received chips with his. For kids meals, we ordered a cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and grilled cheese. The chicken fingers were actually very nicely breaded chicken - not the processed garbage you get at most restaurants. The cheeseburger was a little wimpy looking, but was well dressed and the grilled cheese was enjoyable. The kids meals were supposed to come with vegetable AND fruit per the menu, but ours only came with a large serving of french fries - our fault for not inquiring beforehand.THE SERVICE - We were seated quickly by a polite bus-man - our only positive interaction with the staff. It took at least 10 minutes for our waitress to even greet us and we didn't get our drinks until around 20 minutes after being seated! Normally, we would've left, but our kids were starving and we didn't know where else to go. Our waitress dropped some of our fried green tomatoes on the floor, barely apologized, didn't pick it up!, and made no offer to replace what she had dropped. She also told me I could sub a small salad instead of fries with my sandwich - she never brought the salad. It appears that most people eat from the dinner buffet so maybe she doesn't expect a lot in tips? No reason for poor service, in my opinion. Our waitress was TINA L. per our receipt. I hope management of this restaurant reads this and addresses the competence and attentiveness of their staff.
