I grew up on the North Shore and the place to go for a roast beef sandwich was Nick's Roast Beef. I had returned home for a visit and tried Zenos. I am very glad that I did. Excellent sandwich! The onion rings were good too! Their prices for seafood also appeared reasonable. Maybe next time we will try this.

A bagel bakery featuring handmade boiled bagels along with breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
Properly boiled then baked the fresh bagels are very good and available in many varieties. Traditional smoked salmon now available and cream cheeses in various flavors are available as well as good coffee, breakfast sandwiches, iced and hot coffee. Lunchtime they serve sandwiches. Friendly Counter service, eat in or take out. A well needed addition to a town that lacks a bakery.
Super Subs is one of those totally 'local knowledge' spots. Tucked away in the corner of a parking lot, behind most of Ipswich's downtown, you would not likely find this unless you knew to look for it. In fact we lived here 9 years before discovering Super Sub. Our friends could not believe we had never stopped in for their fabulous Chicken Salad subs - really showed us up as newcomers! Wish they stayed open later (think they close by around 5pm). Cheese steak subs are terrific - and huge - enough to share. Price is definitely right!

We had brunch on our way to Crane Beach. The owners and the staff were very friendly. The location is great, right in downtown Ipswich. The decor is an homage to the good old days of rock n' roll. The blueberry pancakes and the omelette were delicious.

Full service breakfast open to public as well as over-night guests.
Eat out on the verandah(weather permitting) or in a lovely enclosed sun porch, of a lovely historic house that's now a B&B. Excellent service, prices and selection a short few tree-lined historic blocks from downtown Ipswich. If you're a guest at the inn, breakfast is complimentary, with any breakfast item you may have a hankering for, at a price that's very affordable.

Wonderful seafood (eat in or take out). Also amazing catering service!! We are closed for the season. Reopening mid March or by April 1st
Restaurant was recommended by an antique dealer in town. We had lunch and were delighted. Fried clams were pricy but were sweet and not chewy. Clam chowder was also filled with clams and was superior and superb. Staff was friendly and attentive. We will return!

Went on a Saturday afternoon in early April. The outdoor seating was in place, but still a little nippy for sitting outside, so we went in. Fairly empty inside. The flights are all pre-chosen per the menu, but the waitress said she'd put a custom one together - but they really didn't have a huge selection we were interested in anyway. No cask ale selection ('cask is broken'!)Quite a limited menu, we split a 'pizza', which turned out to be a flatbread (they should describe it correctly!) which was ok, nothing spectacular, and not filling for 2 people for lunch.

My nieceâs rehearsal dinner was held here. Super service, appetizers, and main dishes. The large room to the left accommodated 60 people easily. Professionally done, with a welcoming touch. Nice job!

Fried clams were first rate. Pub burger thick, delicious and cooked to perfection. Grilled chicken sandwich top notch. Interior is dated but in a charming way. Everything was a bit old fashioned which is to say utterly enjoyable. So pleased we CBR. Keep up the good work. A real antidote to todayâs plastic world.
