Hercules is a city in western Contra Costa County, California. Situated along the coast of San Pablo Bay, it is located in the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Berkeley, California. As of 2010, its population was 24,060, according to the United States Census Bureau. The site of Hercules was first developed in 1881 as a manufacturing facility of the California Powder Works for the production of its patented dynamite formulation, Hercules powder. In 1882, the Hercules Powder Company was incorporated and assumed responsibility for the Hercules site. It was one of several explosive manufacturers that were active along the Pinole shoreline in the late 19th to the mid-20th century. The small company town that grew up near the facility subsequently became known as "Hercules", and was incorporated at the end of 1900. Starting in the 1970s, Hercules was heavily redeveloped as suburban bedroom community that lies along the I-80 corridor in Eastern Contra Costa County. It has a very ethnically diverse population.

My favorite meal is the ribs. The Dining Room is open to everyone. Food is served M-Th @ 12:00. Fridays meal is served at 11:30. This is cafeteria style and each day offers a different menu item. Their ribs, pork chops, and meat loaf days are very popular. The kitchen is staffed by a paid chef and volunteers. Take-out is also available. The soup is always homemade and a different soup is offered each day.

First two things I noticed were how small the orders of fries were compared to East Coast where I couldn't begin to eat all they served. Then next I noticed how hard it was to get hands on peanuts, like they were treasures to be guarded.... this in contrast to the 5 Guys in Stafford VA and many other 5 Guys where you could grab all you want and munch away. The hamburger was good though slightly undercooked, and certainly not as good as the famous local Nations Giant Hamburger which costs much less. I noticed prices were quite a bit higher than what I'd been used to paying.
We visited this Habit Burger on April Fool's day, 2017, which was appropriate since they treated us like fools. We ordered a single Habit burger combo and a chicken sandwich with a drink. They gave us a buzzer and told us the buzzer would go off when our order was ready. We walked to an outside table and waited. For 20 minutes, our buzzer was mute, not a peep. When we went back to the counter to check on our order, the person operating the register said that our order had been up for fifteen minutes and that they had been calling order 93. 93 was not the number on our receipt. Since the food had been sitting out for nearly half an hour, we ask them to remake. They grudgingly agreed and gave us a new buzzer. When this buzzer went off, we picked up our tray and carried it back to our table to find two double Habit cheese burgers and no chicken sandwich. When we took this tray of food back to the counter, there was a customer asking where his two double Habit cheese burger order was. Now, he didn't want these burgers since they had been with us outside, and we, after an hour wait, just wanted something to eat. So, we took the two crummy burgers and they said they would remake his order, at which point we wished him the best of luck and got the hell out of there.

Simply A Great Meal!
Had a pleasant breakfast at Tina's Place in Pinole this morning. Service was good - friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Mixed report on the food though. Waffle was light and airy - a delicate crumb. Partner enjoyed it quite a bit - I liked it but wished it had some crunchy edges/bits. My pancake on the other hand were heavy and dense - not enjoyable. Eggs were perfectly done and the sausage was fine. Plates with omelettes and home fries going by looked good. Pancakes just aren't their strong point.
Their pork adobo is excellent! They also have fried fish, sinigang and dinuguan. Prices are very reasonable. Friendly service, and they even address me as "Ate.":) They also have a small grocery store attached to the restaurant if you need emergency ube ice cream, or if you're running low on canned bangus (milk fish). We just moved to the area, and we are now "sukis"(regulars)!

We stumbled upon this place when we was visiting family. What a find! The food was incredible, the atmosphere is very modern and tasteful, it could be in any magazine. The Catalan pizza was awesome, as was the pear Romain salad and prawn cocktail. Definitely get the pork empanadas, delicious but hot. We finished off with the maple cheesecake which I wish I had right now. Good beer selection and full bar. We will definitely return. Also the service was some of the best weâve experienced in a long time.

We headed 'downtown' for a quiet dinner before I left town for a couple of weeks. But it was Sunday, and our destination was closed. So we walked over to the Pinole Creek Cafe and really enjoyed it. It's an attractive old home, now restaurant, and sitting on the "porch" with the windows open, a nice summer breeze, some very attentive staff and a great dinner, it was a lovely night.A warm welcome, and it seemed everyone got a hug or personal attention at some point during the evening. I had the prix fixe, at $36.00, with an excellent clam chowder, grilled pork chop with whole grain mustard, sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts (which I love); and possibly the best creme brulee I've ever has. Gorgeous texture and taste. The better half had the salmon ($25.00) which she enjoyed, served with awesome mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked green beans. The kitchen knows its way around food. We've been here before; everything seems to have improved, and this is really quite a nice experience. Recommended!

Came here before dinner for some drinks and appetizers. Enjoyed everything we tried. They have some indoor and outdoor seating if you want to walk with your dog. They arent that big so they probably get pretty busy at dinner time. Service was speedy and friendly.

This is my second visit to this quaint restaurant with the fabulous view. The first time I had breakfast, that absolutely delicious...wanted to check out breakfast again but arrived too late. With the assistance of my waitstaff, settled on the Salmon sandwich...excellent choice! Finished it off with a glass of Navarro Pinot Noir 2015...Ambiance, food and staff Excellent!

Kinder's has a great number of pre-cooked meats. They also have wonderful meats in the raw available for your home-cooking pleasure. One of the great things about Kinder's is that you can ask them to cut your steak as you would like it. We had them cut some fillets (tenderloin) to our thickness specifications and they cut it perfectly. If you're looking for custom-sliced steaks, Kinder's is the place to go. It's like an old-fashioned butcher shop, where you can ask for your meat cut the way you like it. Go to Kinder's if you want custom cuts of meat.
