An acquaintance said that I must dine at Luby's while in San Antonio. So, I called an Uber and headed over. The food was decent diner food and pretty well seasoned. The prices were good too. The place is set-up like an old school cafeteria restaurant.

Voted Best Seafood Restaurant in San Antonio, Sea Island Shrimp House has been serving scratch cooked, high quality, affordable seafood for over 50 years.
A bit confusing when I first walked in the door. I didnât realize you go to the right and order your food at the counter first. We got to the counter before the rush! The line was out the door when we went to find a table.Calamari appetizer came out first. Followed by our mains- fish tacos and shrimp feast. All for approx $33 including tax.Manager stopped at our table to check on things. Calamari was perfect. Fish tacos with broiled pollock were light and tasty. You get 2 and they were all I needed. My husband enjoyed the shrimp feast with fries and slaw. I was pleasantly surprised. I had never given this place a serious thought before and I pass by it every day for 12 years. Better late than not at all- really enjoyable. Everyone must agree too because itâs non stop busy! Staff are friendly and helpful, polite and professional.

I visit Bill Miller BBQ at least once a week. I usually get the bacon and egg on corn tortillas. The ribs are really tender and fall off the bone tender.

I met a friend at this restaurant on a night when there were few people in the restaurant. We had a cold beer (reasonably good selection), and I decided to try a half-rack of baby back ribs with a side called vegetable medley. That was a big mistake. The baby back ribs were listed on the menu under "Smoked Meats", and that was an accurate classification. The ribs were too smoky, and I mean way to smoky. I have been eating smoked meats in Texas for 60+ years, and I have never tasted meat this smoky. The outside of the meat was overcooked and very dry and chewy, about like jerky, and the meat close to the ribs was very dry. Ribs are supposed be juicy, but endless smoking of these ribs without putting sop (mop) on the meat desiccated them and killed the tenderness that characterizes baby back ribs. A great BBQ sauce would have made chewing the dry meat more palatable, but their sauce was sickly sweet with no hint of vinegar. It was BBQ sauce for people with a sweet tooth. I ate one rib and let the server dispose of the remaining 4-5 ribs. The word medley means a "a varied mixture", but my vegetable medley consisted of slightly overcooked yellow and zucchini squash. I ate because it was my only dinner. In all fairness, it is certainly possible that many other entrees at this restaurant may be tasty and a good value. I guess that I just made a poor choice of food to order, but that is a moot point because I will never revisit this restaurant.

No frills burger place with great burger. In a little strip center on 16 that's easy to miss but worth finding. Great burger. No magic, no decoration, nothing fancy, just a good burger. The fries and onion rings were also really good. Fresh, hot, order in a line and pick up your food then chow down. Got pretty crowded as we were leaving but no problem. Not bad pricing either. No $10 burger here.

This Jim's location is really good. The food was very hot when brought to our table. The chicken fried chicken was fork tender and the crust was very light. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Our tea glass was never empty, thank you! The pla e was busy, but the service was great. The restaurant was hard to get to because of the construction going on, but was well worth it. The rest room is very clean as is the restaurant. I would recommend this location over others in the area. You will not be disappointed in this restaurant.

I ordered a filet on the 4-6 PM menu which came with a very good salad and a baked potato. My husband got a sirloin and shrimp = which came with the same sides. They were delicious. The bread loaves they had were not that wonderful - but the rest of the meal was great.

My wife ordered the Meatloff and I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. It was burned. The crust was very dark and I tasted it and yes it was burned. The Manager was informed and she was asked for a second time. At which time my wife was done with her meal. The manager stated "they were busy and she was working as a server". She did offer to replace my dinner or take it off my bill. We excepted to have it taken off the bill.Hello,We deeply apologize that your chicken fried chicken was burned. Have heard wonderful things about Grey Moss Inn, Even gets 4 stars here........So decided to give it a try......Arrived 10 min before the "reservation" time and was seated immediately. Waiter was right there to take our drink order, and we shortly ordered appetizers and steaks!! As we were one of only three occupied tables in the restaurant, was not expecting to wait 50 long min for the appetizer to show up at the table ..... ordered sautéed mushrooms and sausage platter. The mushrooms were barely cooked and almost drowned in red wine, and the sausage was luke-warm and appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. The waiter said our steaks were 2-3 min away.........15 min later he also said they were 2-3min away...........another 15 min passed by and he still claimed they were 2-3 min away.......So at this point I called for the manager/owner who personally checked on the status of the steaks and yup....they were 2-3 min from being completed. After 1hr and 40min of waiting we ask for the check and left.....bet the steaks are still 2-3 min away!! Was disappointed in the management as we still ended up paying for the appetizers....would have been good practice to comp the appetizers as an apology for poor service. Not so sure they really care if customers are happy or satisfied. They certainly gave off the impression it was no big deal, and the attitude was clear--- pay-up and be on your way........guess they have a steady customer base because we will never be going back, you should think twice before going out there also......

We had to take an Uber from San Antonio and were told to leave early or you may not get an Uber back. Definitely dress casual and bring your dancing boots. The music was great, very fun. Drinks and food served. The people were friendly to these outta towners.
