Never get tired of "great" food and service. My wife I came in 7/01/19. We had Mitzi as our server, and she is TOP notch. Came to find out she has been there since you opened 10 years ago. She when to come by and check on us, and told me the salmon was a good choice, well she was right it was great. My wife had the Monte Cristo, and she said the same. Victor your greeter, was not there that day but is very neat. All the best and yes we will be back!

Established in the 80's, this place was very popular back in 90's. Mostly forgotten now, I am grateful I have two chef friends who have cooked here, otherwise I would not have know how good the food still is! Had the beyond meat burger--with cheddar, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and fries. Veggie patty had heavy smoke flavor! Amazing!!

Just in town for the Virginia Garden Tour. Ate here on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. A quick walk through an interesting neighborhood to this quirky, airy local favorite. Food was GREAT, fresh, creative, and the service was excellent. Unpretentious and fun. Multi-generational clientele. Just sorry we were too full to try the yummy looking desserts!

Went here for lunch with friends during a recent visit to Roanoke. We all raved over our choices. My mermaid mojito was amazing and one of the best I've ever had. Same for my shrimp and grits. Another had the BLT which was enormous, one friend had a burger which she claimed was one of the best ever, and another had the crab chowder which was also amazing. Interesting decor. Definitely recommend. Very friendly staff!

After a awful experience with the valets at The Hotel Roanoke, it was redeemed by the staff at Alexanderâs! From the time we walked in to the time we left everything was perfect. Made a reservation and asked for the window seat. They had it ready for us. Everything from the filet, seafood and pork chop was cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive and always ready. Great job Alexanderâs! Will be back every visit to Roanoke. We are so happy that you enjoyed your dinner at Alexanderâs! We also appreciate your remarks about the important unofficial public relations role that our professional staff play in the community- arenât they the Best? Thanks for your lovely review and we look forward to your next visit. May I note that because we are a small restaurant with changing seating needs, we cannot promise specific tables, even to our most loyal customers. Please dont be disappointed if your âfavorite spotâ is not available next time- all of our tables are good tables, and youâll get the same great food, service, and reasonable prices.

Southern, Local, Seasonal cooking in the heart of Roanoke nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Executive Chef Aaron Deal is James Beard nominated and is delighted to be serving traditional yet upscale southern classics in his Roanoke kitchen.
First time stopping in, sat at the Bar- Shane is excellent- bartenders here are very technical in application and drinks are upscale .. too fancy for my taste, so Pinot Grigio was good enough for me! :-) ....cheese board was delicious, pork rinds with pimento was good.. each individually was nice but I think the pimento would have been better paired with something else, no offense to the chef- Brussels sprouts with the spicy mayo- so tasty, cornbread was okay- honestly the butter made it. Fried oyster wraps were a nice little treat and the banana pudding was excellent. Would definitely come back- the atmosphere is very nice- bathrooms are clean and you are able to view the kitchen from anywhere you sit in the restaurant- the restaurant is small so others conversations do echo. - reservations are a must

Casual, loud and tasty. Nice selection of specialty burgers with a daily special. Friendly staff who helped us decide on food. Visited similar establishments in other cities and this is definitely the place for burgers and an excellent selection of brews in Roanoke - all with great music!

A mix of Southern American and Southern French Cuisine with craft cocktails and an excellent wine list.
We had dinner here on our stay in Roanoke. The service is good. The food is very regional and reminded me of my grandparents. The quality is exceptional. The kale is amazing and so is the fried chicken. The bread pudding is outstanding and an excellent choice for dessert. I would defintely recommend stopping here if you like southern comfort food.

We enjoyed our food very much. We had gazpacho as an appetizer that we shared was absolutely delicious with wonderful depth of flavor. The gnocchi were large but tender, with delicious flavor. The scallops were slightly under cooked but the presentation was gorgeous and the blend of flavors was delicious. Service was good. Thank you for your visit and positive review. We're so glad you enjoyed the summer gazpacho, gnocchi, and scallops. Please let us know next time if anything needs to be cooked more and we'd be happy to do so. We strive to send our dishes out both delicious and perfectly cooked, so if something goes out too quickly, we definitely want to correct it. Thanks again and we hope to see you soon!
