Soups On Main serves organic-style foods, farm-to-ladle, pot-to-table in a cozy, setting on historic Hackettstown Main Street. We offer a selection of healthy, fresh, organic-style soups, organic sourdough bread, and an assortment of hot and cold organic
We stopped by in the middle of the afternoon today for lunch. We each had a medium chicken soup with rice and an organic bottled tea, and we split a Cuban sandwich. The sandwich was tasty, the soup was good with lots of chicken and I'd especially note that the soup was not overly salted the way most establishments serve it. I forgot to ask if the rice was whole grain. The bread with the soup was very good, and the bread on the sandwich (which may have been the same) was toasted and excellent. The total price was a little more than we expected, but we didn't see an itemized bill to figure out why we were surprised.

Passing the restaurant heading south on this past cold Sunday, he decided to stop and have an early dinner. Arriving at 4:00 we found a round table near the fireplace. The warmth was welcomed. I ordered a Caesar salad with a cheeseburger and beer. While I have had many Caesar salads around the globe, this particular one was the best by far. The lettuce was very crisp, the seasoning was perfect and I believe the atmosphere was enhancing. Also adding to my meal was above the fireplace (we sat three feet away) a large screen television showed the Steelers and Jaguar game...I didn't like the outcome! This restaurant has always impressed me with the quality of the food and their atmosphere. We're so glad that you enjoyed your experience! Thank you for the review.

Previous visits had not been too positive but someone wanted âfoodâ, now! And it was nearby. Pleasantly surprised. Compared to prior visits the place was much cleaner. The wait staff was much more attentive and pleasant and the food had definitely improved. Will be more then willing to return.

Took the wife and grandkids for dinner but were very disappointed. I frequently eat at diners because I like the selection and generally order eggs, pancakes or waffles. Between us, we ordered waffles and pancakes. Even though we preserved blueberries and strawberries on several, that could not compensate for the tasteless waffles and pancakes. Generally when we order blueberry pancahes, we get blueberry syrup but at this place everything comes with what appears to be corn syrup. Nobody finished their meals and nobody wants to go back to this place.

Popular watering hole with great drinks and beers, a nice menu to satisfy any taste and portions are very large and very reasonably priced. Great place to meet and relax, entertainment, off street parking which is a premium in H'town. Efficient friendly service. You won't be disappointed,

Most sandwiches at a delicatessen have little meat and a lot of bread. Quite the opposite at The Sub Shack. They pile on the meat, lettuce and whatever else you want. They have full or half sandwiches. The half is a meal in itself. Nice selection of beverages, including Stewarts and Joe's. My only pet peeve: you can't substitute black olives for the tomatoes. In other words, if you take something off, you still have to pay if you add a different item on the sandwich.Better for take out as eat in has limited seating. Ask for napkins. They are not always included. The deviled eggs are amazing!

Marley's could be a great hometown restaurant if they paid some attention to detail, The interior is dated, the restroom was filthy and the servers seemed indifferent or untrained. It's sad when it's "taco night" and the waiter doesn't know enough to bring the taco menu. The food wasn't much better. The roast beef was very dried out and our table of 4 had to ask for several items that the waiter forgot to bring with the meals. A disappointing evening.

Modern gastropub with 24 taps of rotating craft beer highlighting several local NJ breweries. Upscale pub fare and a casual but energetic atmosphere
Even though it was a Sunday evening, place was hopping. We waited for about a half hour before being seated for dinner. The waitress was awesome with great suggestions for appetizers and entrees. The sandwiches were prepared hot and fresh. The waitress substituted the fries for a Caesar salad. The shrimp scampi dinner was fantastic with plenty of shrimp. Taste was amazing as well. Even the hazelnut creme brûlée and maple bacon ice cream was so delicious. This is a must stop for all travelers.

James on Main is a wood grill fired American eatery serving creative brunch and dinner selections utilizing local, fresh and seasonal ingredients.
James on Main is a safe bet for a great meal for anyone lucky enough to grab a table at this cozy establishment. Our meal started with a nice Amuse Bouche (ours was hummus w/a bite accompanied by fresh veggies) and what followed next from appetizers to mains were all outstanding. Our large party loved everything the kitchen produced: frisee salad, littleneck clams, brisket, hanger steak, watermelon gazpacho, octopus, schnitzel - you name it. Everything was delicious, plated perfectly and served right-on-time. While James on Main doesn't have a liquor license, one need not fret as Shop Rite liquor (5 min walk) has an outstanding selection of wines you can buy and bring to the restaurant. Bonus: no corkage fee! Hackettstown should consider itself lucky to have such an outstanding dining option in the heart of town.Thank you for your kind review. Your credentials as a reviewer, as per your TripAdvisor contributions, are beyond strong. As the chef/owner of James on Main, I wanted to personally thank you for dining with us. If you find yourself in Hackettstown again, we hope you will join us in the dining room!
