Known as "The Royal City", Guelph is roughly 28 kilometres (17 mi) east of Kitchener and 100 kilometres (62 mi) west of Downtown Toronto, at the intersection of Highway 6, Highway 7 and Wellington County Road 124. It is the seat of Wellington County, but is politically independent of it.

Saturday morning before 11:00 am, the place is jammed with young, old and kids. A cacophony of sound fills the air. Our server was friendly, polite and very effective. Within 10 minutes our breakfasts arrived which was a surprise being as busy as it was.Food was hot as ordered,no issues as to the items served.

Lots of different choices for breakfast and brunch. Have not tried any other meals.Great food and awesome service. My 2 friends and I have breakfast at Eggcetra every other week. Nothing fancy but great food and service!!

We had lunch here on a Friday aft and arrived a bit after noon. The restaurant is well appointed, on the smaller side, and located with a strip mall. The place was approaching full with generally elder local clients. This is obviously a popular restaurant for locals. Only one waitress was present and overly busy; we waited near 15+ minutes before taking our order. The longer wait was for the food a home made soup and smoked meat sandwich. It took near 40 minutes and all arrived at the same time. The food was good but we would not return unless we arrived 1/2 hour before the rush.

While we enjoyed cooking our own burgers on our big green egg, when the weather doesnât cooperate, you do the next best thing and go out looking for a great burger. We went to this place and tried two different burgers. The food was good, the service attentive. Nice way to spend and evening while watching the ball game.

We had heard from several friends that this is a great place for breakfast so off we went. We arrived and found parking easily and close by. The restaurant was fairly full but we quickly found a seat. The service was friendly and fast. We each had fairly standard breakfast fare like bacon and eggs and french toast. The food was properly cooked and served hot and fresh. The price was right. The restaurant was clean. Overall it was a good experience but the only real difference here is the fact that you get to see planes coming and going. Some are vintage aircraft and are fun to see.

The sky is the limit for options on toppings for your burger. The menu is a bit overwhelming and busy for the person who just wants a good old fashioned burger. You can have it any way you want, however and do not need to go with a menu item. Good selection of beers and a fun atmosphere. It's pricey but not out of line for what you are getting. One thing I found annoying, and it is not isolated to this restaurant alone. As a hearing impaired person it is frustrating when the server speaks so quickly you cannot understand them. Servers need to be taught to speak clearly and slowly to patrons, especially in sports bars which are typically a cacophony of multiple TVs and patrons' voices. An enjoyable experience regardless.

I have used their "take out" service and have eaten in the restaurant. The sandwiches and bread are excellent. I would highly recommend the mussels for a lunch time meal as the size is perfect and the flavour is amazing (and you get a nice stick of bread). I have also ordered sandwiches for a professional seminar (again - take out) and everyone in the office was very impressed. I would recommend this restaurant.

Every now and then, in this broad, spinning world, you stop in for a meal at a higher end restaurant such as The Keg, and you are treated in such a kind, caring and professional manner that it blows your already elevated expectations right out of the ocean. So it was in late July when we dragged ourselves in here, far from home and heavy with the weight of a family accident and hospitalization on our minds. We were cheerfully greeted and given a sweet 2 person booth which suited us perfectly. Our server -Rachel, we believe- took absolutely impeccable care of us and seemed to sense that we were on a low. We told her our troubles and she took the time to listen empathetically. We will long remember her kindness, attention to detail and sterling service, but in all the shuffle, we arenât certain of her name. We enjoyed every single aspect of our meal, and were surprised when Dani, the Manager, came to our table to offer her support and encouragement during our difficult time. Itâs been a very long time since weâve experienced such kindness and empathy while enjoying a five star meal. We will definitely return to this Keg if our travels take us back to Guelph. Highly, highly recommended.

Visited for dinner with my husband and two kids ages 10 and 7. I had a the pan seared salmon. It was fine, by definitely not as nice as you would expect based on the menu description and price ($29). Basically a piece of seared salmon on a miniscule of raw veg. My husband had the mussels and nachos which again were average. The kids had kids meals with no complaints. My main feeling after several visits to this place over the last 5 years is that the menu seems really good, but the food never measures up, leading to disappointment. Its probably best to save Borealis for drinks after work and share the ploughmans platter (Its pretty good to share with drinks).Hi Jean,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about your experience at Borealis. Stopped in for crepes on a Sunday and was not disappointed. They offer a great appetizer menu in the evening as well. Good place to stop in before heading out on the town.
