I used to come here many years ago. It was fun back then, and years later, still fun. Itâs a place for everyone. For families, couple, groups of friends, or single. Plenty of tvs to watch games. Prices are reasonable and a great beer list. Food is good and has something for all tastes.

The Jolly Fisherman & Steakhouse provides Dessert, Wine, Catering services in the area NY 11576
We chose the Jolly Fisherman for our Valentine's Day celebration. Best decision ever! This cozy restaurant in the heart of Roslyn never disappoints. The venue is cheerful, the service excellent, staff quite helpful, and I haven't even gotten to the food yet. The restaurant does a luncheon special which includes an appetizer, choice entree, desert, coffee or tea. For the appetizer, entree and desert there are so many options to choose from that it's hard to decide. I started with a salad which is a meal in itself. So fresh and full of good veggies to get you started. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted as an entree but decided to try the shrimp, clams and scallops over linguine with tomato and basil sauce. Wow! This was absolutely the best! I'll definitely have that again. Since i was a bit filled by now I decided to try a lighter desert, rice pudding with whipped cream. Top everything off with a good cup or two of coffee and voila you've had one of the best meals you've had in a long time. For what you get prices are reasonable. I can't wait to return. The Jolly Fisherman has become my very favorite dining spot on Long Island.

One of our favorite 'Go To' places in the neighborhood. We stop in often for dinner... and sometimes brunch. Great food. Nice atmosphere. Service is usually good too. If you're looking for a really nice diner in the area, make this your 1st stop!

Came here for my birthday with my family. Made a reservation on open table and service was all good. We got seated right away and the server immediately started to pour water and ask if we like any other drinks. Appetizer came 10 minutes after we ordered. We got the calamari and the filet mignon sliders which was excellent and beautifully prepared. Dinner came out at fair timing and I got the lamb chop with veggies. Best item on the menu (I think it was on the specials menu)! Even though I was stuffed, I got dessert which was hands down the best part of my experience here. It was so fresh and delicious tasting. Overall will be going to the Heirloom tavern again soon!

The ambiance at Bar Frites is appealing. Sitting outside is nice. Service is fast and attentive.Unfortunately when the food arrives it is disappointing. My Caesar Salad was prepared on the level of a mediocre diner. I had requested extra croutons. This was acknowledged by my server. When the salad arrived, it was clear that the request was ignored. Not a big deal but at these inflated prices, the issue gains importance. My lunch companions has the same reaction to the beat salad. Not terrible, but also not at an agreeable level of quality.

To some, delicatessen is something you put between two slices of bread. To me, it's a calling. I am committed to preserving the traditional cuisine of my Eastern European heritage, amidst all that's required to operate a modern restaurant. This is our ple

Bryant & Cooper opened in 1986 with big ambitions: to bring the top tier New York City "steak house experience" to Long Island. Not only would the very finest quality, hand picked prime aged steaks be served, but an ambiance would be created that makes ev
We came with very high expectations to celebrate a birthday dinner with 7 guests. Several people we trust pledge that B&C is the best steakhouse, and even restaurant, in town. We entered to a lively and charming scene. Itâs deceptively spacious. Plenty of room to spread out and be noisy if you want. Comfy but vibrant decor and ambiance. Service is strong. The usual seasoned older gentlemen circling the tables and guiding the orders. But be careful because the waiters can be a bit aggressive â e.g., may entice you for some quick orders of special items off the menu. For example, before we even ordered drinks or were greeted by the staff, the waiter made eye contact with the biggest eater at the table and said âwe have a mozzarella, do you wantâ. Before anyone else could react we had apparently ordered individual mozzarella salads for the table. For starters, we had the cold seafood platter special. Was a bit light on contents and some items were quite strange. Nowhere near the ice tower weâre used to having at other venues. Barely enough to go around. The tray also included raw clams. Huh? Tasted about as bad as they looked. Oysters were excellent however. We also had baked clams and a mozzarella, pepper and prosciutto salad (the one that was ordered for us above). Both of these were very good. For entrees, the group ordered a variety of steaks. The Colorado special, porter houses for two, and filets. As to the good, all the meats were cooked to perfect temperatures. However, they were all terribly under-seasoned. To the point of being bland. Iâve never had to rely on sauce or salt, but that was a requirement for the table. Pretty disappointing there. Also, the steak options were a bit boring. Other steakhouses offer interesting upgrades, like marrow or truffle crust or Oscar style. B&C has a creamy peppercorn sauce, which was just ok. Also some Cajun option, which sounded out of place. The sides were good and bad. Nothing too exciting, but many steakhouses are like that it seems. I ordered my usual mushrooms. But they were just oversized button mushrooms bathed in some brown gravy and butter. No assortment of sautéed mushrooms. Bummed about that. The hash browns were super greasy. The garlic mash, roasted Brussels sprouts and spinach were excellent however. May have been the hits of the meal. Thatâs about it. Was hoping for better. I think Lugers blows B&C away in terms of steak. And most joints in the city Iâve been to do as well. But the vibe is great and I could see returning for another fun outing.

Each entree was delicious! Raves for the Roasted Corn Bisque, Filet Mignon and Halibut. Dessert was exceptional also. Give Thyme a try if your are looking for Diner dining with fabulous food. Tables are often set in dark corners, awkwardly arranged next to a staircase or opening doors. Walls are bare. Difficult to chat with your table guests because of noise intensity. Waiters are well meaning but unskilled at serving. Dinner plates were served by reaching across the table and our laps. Our table waited for water glasses to be filled and our drink order to be taken. We missed a more attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere.

New Restaurant
Had the lobster Cobb salad. But into significant pieces of lobster shell and bone at least 4 times. Sent half of it back. Owners response was âwhat do you expect itâs lobster.â Didnât apologize or ask if I wanted anything else. Handled it poorly. Rest of food was OK - nothing great.
