Fat Fish is probably my favorite place to eat in Galesburg. The food is amazing--think bar food, but gourmet and innovative. I'm vegetarian, and usually have trouble finding good food at bars, but Fat Fish has many delicious options. My favorite is the pimento grilled cheese. Besides the awesome food, they have a wide selection of craft beers. Try the flight and taste four beers before committing to a pint.

Lieber's Boxcar Express is the same as Hungry Hobo. It is my understanding that Hungry Hobo had pulled all of their stores out of Illinois due to the state being very business unfriendly. Since the Lieber's had been a Hungry Hobo franchisee owner for so long, Hungry Hobo had let them serve the same food but they had to change the name and get rid of all Hungry Hobo marketing items. The food is good. It's been awhile since i've been here. I've noticed that the food is high priced. You can get more food for the money (and better taste in my opinion) by going to Subway. Lieber's is good for a change of pace. They do offer baked potatoes which are very good. But Subway is the better value.

Good middle-western food. Great service and caring staff. I highly recommend their tenderloin sandwiches if you've never had one or if you have and are hungry for a second. They are large enough that one can easily serve two people.

Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for
Five of us ended up here and were pleasantly surprised with the good food and service. Enjoyed the truffle burger, fries and chocolate shake. Loved how it was served in a traditional malt cup with whip cream and cherry on top. All five of us had the malt. Onion rings aren't homemade but good. Left feeling stuffed.

Right on the main road and a popular locals place. No sweet tea (got a add your own sugar). Food was great. They have fried potato chips as well as French fries, both were great. Its a pub style restaurant and families are welcome. Great server and I would definitely go back for drinks later.

So, I am driving around downtown Galesburg, and accidentally pull down the wrong street. What a blessing that was, because there I see the black and white striped awning declaring coney dogs within. I say to myself, "Self, What in the world are Coney Dogs doing away from NYC, and hiding on this back street of downtown Galesburg?" So, I found myself stopping in skepticism.I walked in, and saw the plaque by the door proclaiming this place as the oldest restaurant in Galesburg, having been open since 1921. As I walk in, I see the place probably hasn't changed much since then. It's filled with an antiquated, perhaps old-fangled is a better descriptor diner style lunch counter, and decor that lend a great sense of charm. It was like taking a walk into the past. The menu has many dogs to choose from, but I came in for the Coney, and added a Chicago Style. The server wasn't that animated, and seemed quite flat, but he was polite and friendly as he took my order. He them proceeded to sort through the dogs and buns to make sure that I was served the best of those that were there. The buns were pulled from a steamer which kept them warm and kept them supple but not soggy. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry, and couldn't stay and eat there. I would have loved to peruse the decor, and see what the pictures were at each of the tables, and behind the counter. The dogs were wonderful much to my suprise, and had me reminiscing about the days I lived in Chicago, and those in which I would visit New York.

First time here. Good service and good drinks with some cheaper options on tap. Big crowd on a Saturday night, but we really didn't have to wait too long. This is a large pub with exposed brick walls. I would give our burgers a B+, and the fried portabello strips and A. A pitcher of Sapporo was very cheap. Decent band in an adjacent room. We liked it and would return.

We were certainly pleased we stopped here. It's in a historic former fire station so it's a fun environment. The menu is diverse, but we dined on very tasty burgers. The drinks were unique since it's a microbrewery....they were good beers. Other drinks are available.

Enjoyed a relaxing luncheon with friends at the Landmark Cafe. We were seated immediately on the lovely enclosed patio. I usually order the spinach bisque soup (you really MUST try the spinach bisque soup!) but decided to try the lobster bisque at the recommendation of one of the ladies in our party.. It was a good choice! The attentive waitress kept our ice tea glasses full. We will definitely be back.
