Nice people, cheap food. Breakfast is the only tolerable meal at this place. Mass quantities of greasy carbohydrate laden sustenance for very little money. No fresh fruit, vegetables or meats. Just one of the numerous clone coffee shops that infest this town.
This restaurant is typical of thousands of so-called "family restaurants" across America. Good food. Good service. Good prices. Spring Grove offers a senior citizen dinner menu, which has great prices for us in the senior set. I chose their "chopped sirloin steak", which in reality is a big hamburger without a bun. You get soup with the meal as well as a salad. Potato and a vegetable. And dessert. That's a lot of food for $6.29. Spring Grove has fallen into a bad habit of cutting corners where doing it right would cost only marginally more. Cases in point: a nearly worthless cracker basket with only saltines and margarine. This restaurant is located about 15 miles from the dairy state of Wisconsin, yet butter was nowhere to be seen. Nor were real crackers, like Ritz, Townhouse, Club. True, they cost more, but saltines and margarine says CHEAP with capital letters. There was also a wrapped, unwarm and largely tasteless, dinner roll. The salad was ample, but sparse on ingredients people really want. I deleted the croutons and cucumbers and asked to substitute grated cheese instead. Sure, for an additional 69 cents, I was told. French onion soup was one of the available choices and I eagerly anticipated it. When it arrived, there was no cheese on it, just croutons which had become gooey in the hot soup. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But French onion it was not. They at least did the big hamburger correctly, and the baked potato was delicious, albeit with margarine instead of real butter. Both were decent sized items. For dessert, I chose butter pecan ice cream, which was served with whipped cream. A nice touch.

Went with a friend on a weekday at 2pm. Not many other's eating. I ordered soup and salad. She ordered mac n cheese. At 230 we asked for our food to go as we had to go back to work. Suddenly they show up with our food, the soup was congealed on top. The macaroni was cold too.Small portions too. Took it out in Styrofoam. I am in no rush to go back.

I wanted something for my Keto and low FODMAP requirements - BINGO! Looked at Loganâs menu, found what I wanted (Black and Blue Steak Salad, called in my order with alterations (no onion, no crouton, and no dressing), and drove over to pick it up. The person taking the order was friendly, efficient, and read back my order to make sure it was correct. I had difficulty finding the restaurant as it sits back off the road - not unusual for me when I am in an unfamiliar place. Now to the salad: FABULOUS!! Steak cooked to perfection (medium rare), the description in their menu matched exactly what I had in the salad, everything was fresh, and LOTS OF EVERYTHING!! I have lunch for the next day. Highly recommend this establishment based upon this one purchase!!

This is just a common local cafe-kind of place, but they've got the secret, as far as I'm concerned -- breakfast at any time! Love their pancakes, and the service is relaxed, friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. We're going here every time we're in town.

Great broasted chicken. Very busy on Sunday's which means slow service but is acceptable. Interior could use a massive power washing. Traveling folks still stop by to use the restrooms and then leave and purchasing nothing. Gets old as they tromp by you on the in and out of the restrooms.

A great place to watch the game, hangout with friends and family and get a beer or full bar menu. A great location and can get quite crowded with reunions, etc. Worth a visit while in downtown Freeport.

312 is a neighborhood Italian Beef, Sausage and Hot Dog joint specializing in quick counter-style service located in downtown Freeport, IL.
Keep in mind this is not a sit-down restaurant, but it is an excellent take-out operation. Their Italian beef sandwich just happens to be my personal favorite. It matches-up with the very best of Chicago. You can order it "au jus," dipped in the juices given off by the meat as it is cooked -- or with the "jus" supplied in a separate container. Hot sandwiches are furnished in a red & white checkerboard wrapper and packed in a Styrofoam clam-shell, so they are still plenty warm for eating when you get home. Great sides, too. Try Freeport's 312 Beef & Sausage once and you'll soon be back for more!Thank you for the kind words!

Within about a 25 mile radius, this is our favorite breakfast. The Sunday buffet starts at or close to 10:00 a.m. My son and I decided to eat this and the daughter got a regular order off the menu breakfast. We both agreed, the prime rib they slice up is absolutely tender and tasty. I had ribs, he had chicken, the roast with gravy was great. The shrimp and sauce was very good along with the mashed potatoes and gravy. We did over eat. I outdid him. Of course bacon, sausage, French toast, scrambled eggs and a potato casserole lay in wait. We decided, it likely is a better lunch choice but we mixed the two and didn't eat again till we had a snack that evening. The service was terrific, with water and coffee and drinks filled often. It is approx. $15.00 for the buffet. It was worth the cost, especially for meat lovers. Several local people in the small town we live in as well as myself, not only eat there, but we do recommend it.

I was here with family see a family member off who is in the Army National Guard out of Freeport. We at here from a recommendation. The building has amazing ambiance with a very vintage charm. The service was amazing here and the food was clearly homemade. The chicken dumpling soup was great, my chicken salad sandwich was perfect and the homemade sweet potato fries were crispy and tasty! I would drive the hour and a half back to try other items on the menu. They had a summer bar menu that made you laugh. I didn't try any alcohol but would like to next time. This place is large and would be great for a couple or a large family. If you live in the western suburbs, take a road trip to Freeport to have a nice lunch or dinner here.
