Things to do in Fitchburg
I'd been wanting to try George's since I stared working in Fitchburg a couple of years ago. We decided to get lunch last week to celebrate the good weather. I'd heard great things about this place, and was hoping to find a little gem. Alas, this was not the case. It was pricey for what you get. A "double dog" plate came with 2 dogs, fries and slaw for $7.75. Well, it was supposed to come with slaw. It was not included in any of our orders (5). The hot dog was good., but small. On a nicely toasted and buttered roll, it had a great "snap". The fries were actually kind of disgusting. Lots of small slivered pieces of potato, small and thin with no potato, just skin. The chili dog had barely any chili on it. Was overpriced, ad not worth the cost.

My wife and I stopped by for dinner. This was one of those places that you always say you should try out but just never do. Well, long story short, I wish we hadn't. I ordered crab cakes, the meal version with a baked potato and green beans. There is also an appetizer version. My wife ordered fish tacos. It took, what I thought was a long time for our dinner to arrive and when it did, what a disappointment it was. The crab cakes were burned on both sides and I mean charred black. The potato was over cooked, dried out and mealy. No butter but I did get a little container of sour cream. My wife said the fish taco was pretty good but not anything special. Despite Happy Jack's decent ratings it was a dud for me tonight. Maybe I'll go back and see if they can redeem themselves but probably won't...... too bad, I really wanted to like this place.

In July 2018, we visited this restaurant and had a very poor experience. After posting my review, management contacted me to invite me back and offered a $35 gift certificate. We returned last week and things were as bad or worse with the service. Once again it was five of us for lunch at noon on a Thursday. It was not especially crowded. After being seated, we were ignored for about ten minutes, until I finally got someone's attention. Our waitress offered apologies, and we gave a beverage order and asked that we receive a fifth table setting (there were only four). After a very long time, the drinks arrived but I had to ask again for the table setting. We placed our food order and, once again, had a very long wait. When the food arrived, again with apologies, my grandkids' pasta was lukewarm and my "steamed" broccoli was cold. A request for an additional beverage again took a long time. When the check arrived, I found that the waitress had given me someone else's paid check (with $25 cash included). I flagged down the waitress, who had recognized her error, and was given the correct check -- again, with many apologies. She also offered us $5 off coupons for a return visit. The waitress was wearing an apron that identified her as a "certified trainer." Sorry, clearly the management of this establishment doesn't know how to offer appropriate customer service and attention. With so many alternatives available, we won't be returning here. I'd recommend that you opt for a different spot as well.Hi, Al. We sincerely apologize that you did not receive the best service and that some items were not prepared correctly. Our general manager will be in touch via email as soon as possible.

We recently opened Summer St. Cafe in January and have over 20 years experience in the food industry. Our goal is to provide our customers a comfortable and affordable dining experience. We serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday with breakfast al
This is the former City Hall Cafe that was located in drab downtown Fitchburg with limited street parking. The cafe has been refreshed by moving to a busy, easily accessible location with more onsite parking. The restaurant inside is bright, open, comfortable and the staff is friendly as always. Two of my friends and I ordered the Mediterranean fish that was plentiful and super delicious. It came with a tasty coleslaw and delicious beets. They had unfortunately had run out of baklava.Definitely recommend anyone in the local area near Summer Street and John Fitch Highway to stop at the Summer Street Cafe for delicious local homemade comfort food.

Frequent this restaurant quite often in both NY and in Fitchburg, MA. The quality, and service in both locations has always been excellent. You can get everything from appetizers to complete meals, and that includes children's menu items. My favorites are the New Orleans Shrimp, and Beef tips. Plan on bringing some home, the portions are quite large.Usually frequent this restaurant about 4 or 5 times a month. The menu choices are quite extensive.

Came here with my honey for breakfast. The atmosphere was wonderfully diner-ish, even with an old diner car on the front with expanded seating behind. The highlight was their house made corned beef hash. And my husband's pancakes were so fluffy. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I visited Massachusetts for a week long vacation. On our last night, we wanted someplace close to our lodging and someplace we could watch baseball. Legends answered both of those needs. When we pulled in the parking lot, i did not have high hopes for a great meal. It looked like a neighborhood sports bar. I need to say first and foremost, the ladies working at Legends are super friendly and hard working. The food was very good and the drinks were generous. I would recommend Legends to anyone, great food, nice atmosphere. Thank you for giving us the opportunity and for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Legends!

We were delightfully surprised by the cleanliness and friendly people who worked at River City Diner. In addition, the lunch menu had lots of good choices. I had corned beef others had chicken salad sandwich. Both were overstuffed and delicious. We also had a side of French fries as the sandwiches come with potato salad or chips. The French fries were hot and delicious.

While staying at Great Wolf lodge we found this little gem after reading reviews on Trip advisor. From the minute we entered the service was outstanding, unfortunately i didnât get the waitresses name but she has dark hair and a thick Boston accent, The menu is quite extensive from multiple types of eggs Benedict, omelettes and pancakes, whats nice is the range of fillings for the pancakes of which everything is made from scratch. They also make all their own muffins and breads in house which really sets this place apart from the rest. My wife noticed the cornmeal muffins that just came out of the oven....they were bigger than a softball! This place is a no brainer from breakfast with a huge meal for 4 coming in at just over $30. We are here for one more day so we will be returning for breakfast tomorrow. A small bonus the parking behind the diner is located on a beautiful little creek with sun poking through the trees....a nice place to take photos. I give this place a serious two thumbs up!
