Some of the best burgers you can get in a chain burger joint! They call them "Steak burgers" and one bite and you will agree!

I opted for IHOP, due itâs close proximity to the hotel. Went inside and as the sign stated, I waited to ne seated. There were a very few tables filled and I saw two servers, but no one bothered to look my way, or seat me. I left. I am now eating dinner at the very busy nearby Applebyâs, where I was seated at a table immediately.

Had decided we wanted steak while here. Had initially intended to go to Wagon Wheel but was told hours are sporadic and they could be closed on Mondays. So on the advice of the hotel front desk clerk, went to Bruffs. Had a delicious meal served by Brittany. She was friendly and helpful describing some of the offerings and checked with us numerous times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. If you're not a local, it's kind of a confusing place to find. The exterior would not predict the excellence of the food and service.

Ate here for dinner twice in November (two weeks apart) while while traveling across country around Thanksgiving.Conveniently located across from hotel where staying at for the night, had usual expectations for this chain restaurant having dined at various locations in different states. Although early evening the restaurant was not busy and dinner rush had completed so waited on promptly and had friendly servers both times. The first visit food was really bad: lettuce browned and the core"butt" of lettuce head in my salad! My steak was cooked to order but was so heavily seasoned it was like eating Cajun style and the steamed broccoli had turned and smelled spoiled. Second visit (yes went again because in walking distance and wanted a cocktail) the food was fine (I avoided ordering salad or steak) and enjoyed chicken pasta but the drink I ordered was so watered down I couldn't taste the Tanqueray gin or the tonic -same result when ordered a double short.

This is truly a hole in the wall, but the food is really good. Steaks and ribs were very tasty. We will go back. Put it on your list while in Emporia!

Wow, this place was excellent! We (about 20 of us family members) ate here one night while staying at a hotel across the street. They have a buffet and it's not just pizza, although the pizza was fantastic! They have a salad bar, pizza bar, fried chicken (which they kept bringing out fresh chicken constantly!), mashed potatoes, and vegetables (I believe), and a dessert pizza bar, too! I ate pizza and salad and enjoyed every bite! Other family members ate fried chicken, pizza, and dessert, and salad. The pizza selection offered was a variety of pizza's, including a mac and cheese pizza, a pizza that tasted like hot wings, and much more! We will definitely eat here if we stay in Emporia again. It's located behind the Walmart across from several hotels.Oh, the girl picking up plates was on top of things constantly and even offered to take our picture for us!

Upon entering, it looks as though you've stepped back in time. Between the decor and the downtown itself (just across the street is an old all-in-one pharmacy with items for sale on pegboard!)...Very outdated decor but you are not here to eat the paneling and booths. The food is FANTASTIC here and the portions are hearty. The hash brown breakfast potatoes are addicting. You've been warned. The staff is very young but very friendly, respectful and knowledgeable about the goings-on in their small town as well as the bigger picture of the world at large. Smart kids are great!Give this place a try and check out the bulletin board items too for a laugh.

We were hoping to snag some of the delicious sounding sandwiches for a carryout lunch later in the day, but stopped by too early. We were pleased to be able to get a huge cinnamon roll fresh off the pan, still warm. My goodness these are large. Much too big for a single serving which made them nice to share. Wish we could have tried sandwiches, as well, but maybe another time!

We were driving through on our way to AZ and stopped for some BBQ. This place is amazing!! We had rib tips, okra, beans, coleslaw, homemade biscuits AND peach cobbler with ice cream! EVERYTHING was amazing and so very cheap! Please try this place if you are ever traveling on Interstate 35 and you will not be sorry you did! Oh, and the service was wonderful!

Don't be discouraged by the wait; they turn tables quickly! The food is excellent, and the menu offers a wide array. Best steaks by far, and though the price is a bit daunting at $27, the steak could feed 2 to 3 people! I ordered the Gyro, which is also excellent. The drink menu is diverse as well. I liked the Shandy Ginger (beer and ginger beer). Service is excellent along with the ambiance. It's a casual place but people were nicely dressed. Family friendly, too.
