Love this place. A hole in the wall type of establishment but the food is really good and inexpensive. You wouldn't expect the seafood here to be inline with high end restaurants but it is (and some dishes even exceed the high end places). The menu has remained unchanged for years which provides consistency and the prices have changed only slightly over the years. Definitely worth checking out.

I have been going to the Firehouse Restaurant for years, but we hadn't been there in a few years. It has gone through a few owners and a fire but it still survives. Last Friday we went for pizza for old time sake. What a nice surprise. The pizza was old school thin crust Jersey pizza with lots of cheese. The mussels were so good we ordered another portion. The wait staff are all locals and the whole place makes you feel like you are from the neighborhood. TV screens and fire house memorabilia fill the walls. The food is very good and the atmosphere is great. We will be back soon.

This was the first diner that I couldn't find anything that I wanted to order on a Jersey Diner menu. I opted for a simple Bacon Cheeseburger that was cooked perfectly medium, but was so greasy that it soaked through the bun bottom and pooled in the plate. My spouse's Chicken sandwich came with lots of excess bun (I could have used it to soak up the hamburger grease on my plate). The cole slaw was nasty and the pickle slices were warm. Our server not too attentive and came too late to refill our drinks. We even skipped dessert just to get out of there. A one-timer.

A world of food awaits at Grand Lux Cafe featuring internationally inspired cuisine.Located on the south east side of Garden State Plaza near the freestanding Best Buy and AMC Theatres.
We went to this Restaurant not knowing what to expect. We read mixed reviews. In our opinion, one of the best meals we had in a while. We even enjoyed the smoothies! I had the Benito chicken box and thoroughly enjoyed it. I even gave half of it to my son! He had the lunch Salmon. He said it was delicious. We plan to go back againHi Christine, Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience and we look forward to your next visit!

I drive past here all the time and there are a lot of cars in the lot. This past Sunday my wife and I decided to have breakfast out and this place was packed again,so I said lets stop.We had been here once before and it wasn't the best but with the amount of people here I figured we most be missing something. Wrong! Our waitress was a sweetheart, always there to top off our coffees and very pleasant, but the food was not up to par.Loose eggs for me and cold home fries with my wife selection.Maybe its us,or possibly bad luck but two bad visits in two tries -- no more.

Had a late night dinner there on a Friday night. We had to be the oldest people there but we can hang with the 20 year olds. The music was really loud but we didn't mind since it was music we actually do like. I had the bolognese. My husband had salmon tacos (the menu said mini and they were very small). He ended up eating some of my pasta. Our waiter was great. ! He was attentive without being over attentive. He did go out of his way to try to get a certain football game on the TV. He was successful. What is really good here is there beer selection. They have great craft beers especially Funky Buddha which is hard to find in the Northeast. I also had a strawberry martini which was amazing not too sweet just right. We would definitely go back again. Next time maybe a little earlier at night.

The Gotham Diner is a great breakfast destination. Their breakfast specials are wonderful. I have had a number of them. Service is the best. The servers are very friendly. I don't have to wave the server down to get more coffee. My coffee cup is always filled.

While on a shopping outing, my wife and I were following the GPS directions when we passed by first a Hot Dog "emporium" (River View East) with a 1940s vibe that caught our eye... and right past it... next door... the Twisted Elm. We both exclaimed as we passed the Twisted Elm, "Wow! That's place looks pretty cool!"Anyway... we continued to our destination and afterwards dropped by a local brewery (Alementary - Hackensack, NJ) for a respite. After a couple beers we were both ready for dinner. Where to go? Hmm... we had WiFi at the brewery so I Googled "Twisted Elm" and upon going over the menu we decided to dine there. On our way out I asked the bartenders if they were familiar with Twisted Elm. One perked up immediately and told us that their food was off the hook. Another good sign!Ten minutes later we were there. The parking lot was jammed; we actually got the last space in the main lot. I was thinking we might have to wait for a table (it was prime time, around 7:15 pm on a Saturday), but the hostess put us at a cozy table in the main dinning room where there was a fire going in what appeared to be an old brick pizza oven. Looked cool! AC and a fireplace! 'Merica!Anyway... REALLY friendly staff! And knowledgeable too! Nice selection of local microbrews on tap - including a sour. (I'm a huge fan of sours.) Full bar. Homemade sangria (they had a special Rose Sangria which my wife ordered; it was delicious) as well. Having had a couple beers at the brewery and with such an eclectic menu of food and drink at the Twisted Elm (with such a nice cozy setting and friendly service) we decided to order in "shifts." First my beer and my wife's sangria and an app of chicken and waffle sliders with buffalo bleu cheese mousse. Well... I was expecting LITTLE sliders; instead, the brought us a place with two "full size" sandwiches - think the size of a fast food double burger. They were DELICIOUS! (Full disclosure... a BIT spicy for my wife's taste... but a side of sour cream requested and quickly delivered to the table took care of that! Since I LOVE "buffalo bleu" no "cooling" was necessary for mine.)(Oh... and when I had ordered my first beer I'd commented on ANOTHER beer on the list - so our waitress brought me a sample without me even asking! It's little gestures like that which make an impression on me.)Anyway... after our "full sized sliders" I ordered a second (different) microbrew and as our next food course we ordered the skillet mac & cheese with short rib, caramelized onions, carrots, and bleu cheese. It was an entree portion and let me tell you... it fed BOTH of us! Furthermore, I'd call it "Short Rib AND Mac & Cheese" - THAT'S how much meat there was! This dish wasn't "flavored" with short rib; it was LOADED with short rib. Hey... $20... not cheap... BUT... you're getting your money's worth and more. Off the hook tasty! Stick to your ribs "home" cookin'!Anyway... two beers... one sangria... one app... one entree... with tax $61. Great setting. Convenient location minutes from multiple highways. (This is Jersey, remember!) Oh... and back to "the little things; the gestures"... the chef came out to introduce himself. I like that! The chef and the staff take pride in what they do. That MATTERS. Anyway... I highly recommend the Twisted Elm. They have a good website. Check it out. Photos... menus... their story...Check out the website and my review here will resonate.

Just visited our new favorite burger place but didnât want to review it as itâs very small & didnât want it to be too crowded. Every review Iâve read about Steveâs is true. The burgers, hot dogs, fries, Steveâs own brand sodas are all excellent & very reasonably priced, much like a fast food place but only better quality food. 4 tables inside & 2 outside and very small parking lot.
