We dined here this week with a party of five. It is the best food in Duck/Corolla â better than the Paper Canoe, which is also good. The steaks were outstanding. The potato purée and mushrooms were great, but the real standout was the Brussel sprouts. Hereâs the problem: Service has always been an issue here, and this time was no exception. Instead of indifference, we had an overbearing waiter who would not stop babbling every time he appeared at the table. He even went out to his car to retrieve his phone to show us photos of him with a buffalo in Montana. The thing was, we never engaged with him. He was not deterred. This would have been merely comical if he hadnât messed up peopleâs orders. Iâd add another thing, in case anyone who matters is reading: The âManagement Responsesâ below are wholly inadequate. Whoever is in charge of them should be relieved. With that said, we look forward to our meal next year at Kimballâs Kitchen!Thank you for returning to Kimball's Kitchen and providing feedback on your culinary and service experience. Stopped in at the Duck Deli for lunch with the family and we all had great meals. We sat in the side patio and had a terrific server that made great recommendations. We had the fish tacos, philly cheese steak,Ruben and a bbq sandwich. They also have a few great dipping sauces for the fries. Go and enjoy. The place does have a very large for sale sign, so I donât really know what the plan is for the future.

We visited the Lifesaving Station for breakfast on our trip to the OBX as a departure from our normal breakfast joints. We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the staff at the restaurant which was mentioned as lacking by several previous reviews. Their breakfast does take a while to get to the table, but it is definitely fresh and a ton of food. My wife ordered the eggs and bacon with a bagel and I ordered sausage and gravy with vanilla French toast. We definitely could have split the order of food because of the quantity of food on our plates. Their coffee is extremely strong and required a ton of cream and sugar to tame down. My wifeâs bagel was a little burned but we overlooked it because of the quantity of food and the high quality cream cheese and jelly offerings with it. An outstanding breakfast place which is well worth the drive from the rest of the main places in the OBX!Thank you for joining us for breakfast and recognizing it as one of the best on the beach. We hope you will keep it on your list to dine when you are back in the Outer Banks.

Good food and nautical themed ambiance with unique recycled glass creations by Roadside Recycling. Great place to stop in downtown Duck if you have a small group of 2-4 people. Definitely not another tourist trap! Lunch entrees range from $10 to $24. My tuna melt was great with delicious side salad and my husband was thrilled with his burger. Couldn't get any fries though. We asked and they said they don't have a deep frier. They do have indoor seating for the dog days of summer and a patio seating presumably for evenings. The ladies restroom was unusual in that there were no doors for individual stalls, just shower curtains.

Outer banks, Friday night, no reservations, picky eaters. I want some decent seafood. We're in trouble. First tried a restaurant down the street, but they had an hour or more wait. This place had no wait. That's scary.Get seated, order a beer. They give us some bread and artichoke dip. REALLY good stuff. There's a nice jazz band playing. You can see the kitchen, which is small.I ordered two apps. Fried green tomatoes and scallops. Fan-freaking-tastic. Both had a balsamic glaze that wasn't too overpowering. Scallops cooked well (as in not well done). Tomatoes had a great breadcrumb.My wife had the salmon which was also cooked extremely well and had a nice crust on it. My boy had buttered pasta. He ate it all.Highly recommend.

Fun place. Had a band outside, made the wait tolerable. the food was ok, good hush puppies, mushy greasy calamari, the usual steamed crab legs, good clam strips, overdone seafood platter (scallops were perfect, fish and lobster were overdone and dried out)

We spent 3 nights in Duck. During a day of exploring we decided to try Aqua for lunch and SO glad we did. We arrived not long after they opened and were seated at a table overlooking the sound. Great view. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, some interesting art work, very different and lovely. Bathrooms clean and eye appealing.Our server was polite, helpful and great personality. We both ordered the crab cakes which were excellent, very little filler with jumbo lumps of crab. My bloody Mary was also good. Their menu is varied so something for everyone. Prices are resonable and in line with the high quality of the food. If in Duck again we will definitely return to Aqua. Highly recommend it.Thank you so much for Dining with us and so glad you enjoyed yourself. We look forward to seeing you again and thanks for the great review.

The menu is contemporary seafood and land. The portions are good size. I had the crab cakes and they were delicious. My mother had the pork chops with Mac and cheese both were done perfectly. The special flounder sashimi was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The eight of us were squeezed onto two small tables and I had to deal with the crack. The food is expensive but good. My reason for 4 dots is that our waiter was not friendly almost grumpy even though very accommodating.

Visited Paper Canoe in August 2019 with our party of eight for dinner. The restaurant is not too large so definitely make a reservation. We had a nice table which accommodated our party very comfortably. Our server was knowledgeable, pleasant and most importantly attentive. The restaurant is on the sound side but unfortunately we arrived after the sunset. I would have to say that this restaurant is one of the best in the entire Outer Banks. Our drinks (Old Fashion, Manhattans etc.) were well made, and our food(fish specials, shrimp and grits, etc.) were delicious. All I can say is âtreat yourself and go there.â

Wonderful restaurant. Food was best we had in Kitty Hawk. I had the seafood bisque, which was excellent. The fresh oysters were the best I have had in a long while. Very clean. The steamed shrimp were also excellent. Everyone else had the salmon. It was cooked to perfection. Very juicy.
