Warm, charming, inviting, romantic and oh yeah... great food. Groton is a nice quaint old village and the Benn Conger stands out as the place to go for fine dining. Worth the drive from Cortland, Ithaca, Syracuse, etc. Maybe you're lucky enough to live in Groton and if you do I hope you've been there more than once. I don't have a favorite because I've loved everything I've had there. Feel free to arrive a little early and enjoy a cocktail in the quaint bar.

The Heights Restaurant and H Bar was established in 1995 by Culinary Institute of America graduate James Larounis and his wife Heidi. We are located in the Village of Cayuga Heights, one mile from the center of Cornell University. The restaurant has a cas
I've visited this restaurant twice, and both times I ordered a fish entree from the regular printed lunch menu. Both times, it was the best fish entree I ever had.On this visit, I enjoyed the fantastic PAN-SEARED SALMON: Roasted Beet Salad, Saffron Cous-Cous, Citrus Ginger, Pineapple Chutney, Green Harissa & Chinese Broccoli. What is exceptional about this dish is the multitude of sweet, spicy, tart and other flavors on the plate and how well they complement each other. My husband loved the vegetable harvest salad, but it is not a light salad; it has a lot of (fried?) brussel sprouts.Joanna is a fabulous experienced server. The decor and ambiance are upscale and lovely. My husband says the chocolate cake is great. The pear cake I ordered is OK, not great. The Heitz port is a superb dessert wine, sweet as honey.
this is a charming old inn at the intersection of five roads in a village barely big enough for one... we stopped for Eastern brunch and we charmingly served by several women for whom this was obviously not the first rodeo... nice salad, penne pasta Alfred with vegetables, turkey terrific, gravy to match, late-arriving ham among the best dishes here, quiche looked suspicious but tasted fine, beef a bit stringy, mashed potatoes terrific, same with biscuits and sausage gravy and were pleasantly surprised to find that routine drinks were on the house... very nice, we will try to come back
Brovos now occupys this building and is much better then toads. Toads 2 is still in business across the street and servers the best ice cream in the area.

My husband, adult son and I had dinner here Saturday night based on the TA reviews. Our server was wonderful. My Cosmo martini was very fairly priced and blended perfectly- one of the best I have had in ages. The sweet honey butter served with hot rolls was amazingly good. The 1st course salad was also really good, although the dressing was a tad too oniony. We all ordered meat for our main courses - filet mignon for my husband, a steak with barbeque sauce for me, and London broil for my son. The entrees were all ok, but nothing special. Most restaurants charge a lot more for meat entrees than the Antlers. I suspect they are trying so hard to keep the prices low that the entrees suffer as a result. We probably would have been better off ordering burgers. We would have paid $5-8 more per entree to get better cuts. The steak fries were also ehhhh. No.harm but I definitely think the cooking style - and decor - need to be updated.

I like A and W.But they just aren't on their a game.In fact I don't think they have one.Went here on a busy sunny day, tried ordering from the table, and couldn't get service or attention. After 20 minutes, we just left.Other people were complaining, it seemed like food would not come soon.It is amazing that in 2018 you could go to a large restaurant and have them be cash only.Another demeri.
I am not sure quite how, but this Subway is a cut above the rest. Could it be that the bread is slightly larger? Or that the fillings are somewhat more generous? Of that the "sandwich artists" are personable, friendly, and learn their customers' name?Whatever it is, I much prefer this Subway to the other two closest: cortland and ithaca

The Queen Diner has all the elements that distinguish diners as THE place to eat. It is clean, comfortable, and offers delicious food. As do many diners, it has a selection of Greek-ethnic foods in addition to standard American fare. Their Gyro plate offers delicious large portions for a very reasonable price. The liver and onions can not be beat. On Fridays, their specials include prime rib, fish fry, and chicken Parmesan for under $12. Service is outstanding with friendly, well-groomed, knowledgeable waitresses who quickly get to know patrons and greet many of them by name. Well worth stopping for any meal, but especially for dinner.
This is a great community cafe.
Coffee, latte, snack, conversation, Wi-Fi...really doesn't matter what you are looking for-this place has it all. Volunteers run the café giving you a wide variety of personalities and insight as you spend more and more time here. Summer hours are less which for those of us who work and don't get summer hours is a bummer because I like the fact they open at 7a most of the year...the summer 8a doesn't work with my departure time so they loose me for a few weeks as I purchase my coffee elsewhere but I am always there on Saturdays! My entire family enjoys the café and love all their fun monthly activities.Make sure you like them on Facebook and you will get daily updates for the lunch, soup, quiche, etc. As well as be in the know about all their community events!
